The Winner is #331, Heidi! Congrats, Heidi, you’ve got mail!
Lamps are one of the easiest things to change out in a room to make a big difference in the feel. I went through the really traditional lamp season, of iron base and bell shaped shades, but the last 3 or 4 years, I’ve transitioned over to drum shades and a more electic vibe with my table lamps and I love the changes. I’m happy that lamp manufacturers have given us so many pretty lamps to choose from the last few years. Before that, I remember having a hard time finding pretty lamps that were affordable.
I’ll show you a few of mine that I’ve had for a few years.
I found this one at a yardsale for $5 and got rid of the monstrously big shade that came with it and found the replacement shade at a thriftstore. I recovered it in this pretty black and cream damask and have enjoyed it for a long time. I might be ready for an update on the fabric pretty soon, since I have some burlap that would work perfectly. I love the glass base with gold accents and it’s a very tall stately lamp.
Another find in my living room is this mercury glass lamp that I got from Homegoods. It’s petite and fits nicely on this glass and iron side table from Ballards.
More lamps around my house. I love mixing them up and using different colors and shades all around. I try to keep my shades fairly neutral for the most part and notice I love the drum shades. Something about this shape really appeals to me and it modernizes a room so much.
Another little vignette in my den area has another metal based lamp and drum shade. I’m still working on the den, but I’ll show you some progress down here next week. It will be awhile before I get this room totally finished and I’m still using part of it for storage of accessories.
Another great find were these lamps from Kirklands that I found just after moving in my house. I absolutely love the wooden bases, the gray ceramic vase shape and the burlap drum shades. This pair was the perfect complement on my sideboard in the dining room, pulling in the gray paint in here and the colors from the curtains. They were meant to be!
Speaking of Kirklands, if you haven’t shopped there for lamps lately, they have really upped their game in lamp selections and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the ones they have. You can shop online or at their store and they have a ton of lamps on sale all the time.
Kirklands sent me a new lamp to try out in my house and I absolutely love it. This big glass base is slightly vintage looking and the glass is sort of seeded and old looking on a wooden neutral base. I really love the large drum shade covered in burlap.
It’s a great fit on my coffee table in the den, very large and distinct and the style fits right in with my Traditional furnishings in here. At 32” tall, it’s a large one!
Here’s some great news too. Kirklands wants to give ONE of my readers one of these lamps too. Yippee!! I love when I can share the fun with all of you and I’m so excited to be able to give one of you this lamp too. It will be sent directly to your home all packed up nice and neat in 2 boxes.
All you have to do is visit the Kirklands website, look at their lamps and leave a comment, telling me which one is your fave!
And tell me where you’ll put this new lamp if you’re the fortunate winner?! That’s it, I’ll choose a winner in a few days and you’ll get your very own beautiful glass lamp with burlap shade too. How fun is that?
Note: I was given a free lamp from Kirklands, but wasn’t paid for this post.

I love the blue distressed table lamp. I’ve been wanting to add some color to my den but not a big splash. This would fit exactly.
I would love the Peacock Blue table lamp. It would add some much needed color to our very beige living room, and I just love a transparent glass lamp. If I were to win this one, it would go on my nightstand~I need a tall lamp since our bed is on risers and I like to read at night. I also like the narrow base so it doesn’t have a large footprint. Thanks!!!
Love all the lamps but the first one with that beautiful shade and the mercury glass lamp are my favs. I love, love mercury glass it is all over my home.
Cynthia
Beautiful choices but the peacock blue lamp is my favorite color and provides a pop in a drab room!
I love all of the clear base lamps! I would use this in my bedroom.
antique cream table lamp. I would put it in my family room. I am still having a problem I think I will put your Facebook page in my favorites and go from there. thank you for the giveaway and for try to solve the problem.
In my bedroom I’d use the Black Hobnail Table Lamp
I love Kirklands! I really like the Black Damask Buffet table. I would have to finally get end tables to display them!
I love all the lamps in your home…..actually, I just love you home. Your style is so welcoming and comfortable as well as just pretty!
Kirklands has some really great lamps, I think my favorite today is the bronze clear glass table lamp.
Thanks for the chance to win,
Carolyn
I love the Sand Dune Table Lamp. I love the distressed look of the lamp itself and I love the color of the linen shade and the design! We moved into our house almost five years ago after my hubby retired from the military and are slowly making it our own. We are working on the upstairs bathroom now; we just put a refurbished claw foot tub in! We are working our way downstairs. The living room has beautiful original windows and woodwork including a built in cabinet so we only plan on painting the walls and removing the carpet to hopefully expose the hardwood floors that are in the adjoining dining room. Therefore the living room is where the lamp would go if I won! Thanks Rhoda for another great post!
Thank you to you and to Kirkland’s for the great give-away. I would love to win the Cairo Crackle Table Lamp and would replace a lamp in our bedroom with it which would fit with the decor beautifully.
Have so enjoyed seeing your new home come together and am so happy for you to have had this experience and especially with your dad helping put it all together.
I love the sandy blue glass table lamp! I’m a blog lurker and have never commented but I really enjoy your blog and everything you do!
I would love the Rattan Dual Table Lamp. Thanks for the opportunity!
I love the Turquoise Glass Table Lamp.
I love the sandy blue glass table lamp. I do such a poor job of choosing lamps & shapes – especially shades. I wish there were some guidelines to help me. They just never look right but I don’t know why.
I finally checked out Kirklands, had to keep checking out so many amazing lamps, I could not stop! Love your site and have been following your new home adventures for months. The gray driftwood would be perfect for my writer husband’s desk. Thanks, Sharon

I really like the one called Sand Dune. I like the ruggedness (hope that’s spelled right) of it. I’d put it in my great room so I could see it every day, but who knows…It’ll probably get moved around a lot!
Thanks.
Beth
Love Kirkland lamps…fav is smoke glass & chrome lamp.
I would choose the gray wash table lamp
I love the Antique Cream Table Lamp. It would be perfect in my guest room and would look so much better than the really old lamp I have there now. Love your blog – I live about 30 miles south of Atlanta so I enjoy hearing about your shopping expeditions in the area.
