Inspiring Lamps and a Giveaway

{Giveaway is Closed}

The Winner is #331, Heidi!  Congrats, Heidi, you’ve got mail!

Lamps are one of the easiest things to change out in a room to make a big difference in the feel. I went through the really traditional lamp season, of iron base and bell shaped shades, but the last 3 or 4 years, I’ve transitioned over to drum shades and a more electic vibe with my table lamps and I love the changes.  I’m happy that lamp manufacturers have given us so many pretty lamps to choose from the last few years.  Before that, I remember having a hard time finding pretty lamps that were affordable.

I’ll show you a few of mine that I’ve had for a few years.

yardsale lamp

I found this one at a yardsale for $5 and got rid of the monstrously big shade that came with it and found the replacement shade at a thriftstore.  I recovered it in this pretty black and cream damask and have enjoyed it for a long time.  I might be ready for an update on the fabric pretty soon, since I have some burlap that would work perfectly.  I love the glass base with gold accents and it’s a very tall stately lamp.

mercury glass

Another find in my living room is this mercury glass lamp that I got from Homegoods.  It’s petite and fits nicely on this glass and iron side table from Ballards.

black metal

More lamps around my house. I love mixing them up and using different colors and shades all around. I try to keep my shades fairly neutral for the most part and notice I love the drum shades. Something about this shape really appeals to me and it modernizes a room so much.

black metal lamp

Another little vignette in my den area has another metal based lamp and drum shade.  I’m still working on the den, but I’ll show you some progress down here next week.  It will be awhile before I get this room totally finished and I’m still using part of it for storage of accessories.

gray with burlap shades

Another great find were these lamps from Kirklands that I found just after moving in my house.  I absolutely love the wooden bases, the gray ceramic vase shape and the burlap drum shades. This pair was the perfect complement on my sideboard in the dining room, pulling in the gray paint in here and the colors from the curtains. They were meant to be!

Speaking of Kirklands, if you haven’t shopped there for lamps lately, they have really upped their game in lamp selections and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the ones they have. You can shop online or at their store and they have a ton of lamps on sale all the time.

glass lamp with burlap shade from Kirklands

Kirklands sent me a new lamp to try out in my house and I absolutely love it.  This big glass base is slightly vintage looking and the glass is sort of seeded and old looking on a wooden neutral base.  I really love the large drum shade covered in burlap.

large glass lamp

It’s a great fit on my coffee table in the den, very large and distinct and the style fits right in with my Traditional furnishings in here.  At 32” tall, it’s a large one!

Here’s some great news too. Kirklands wants to give ONE of my readers one of these lamps too.  Yippee!! I love when I can share the fun with all of you and I’m so excited to be able to give one of you this lamp too.  It will be sent directly to your home all packed up nice and neat in 2 boxes.

All you have to do is visit the Kirklands website, look at their lamps and leave a comment, telling me which one is your fave!

And tell me where you’ll put this new lamp if you’re the fortunate winner?!  That’s it, I’ll choose a winner in a few days and you’ll get your very own beautiful glass lamp with burlap shade too.  How fun is that?

Note: I was given a free lamp from Kirklands, but wasn’t paid for this post.

My #1 fav is the Neutral Clear Glass lamp you show in this post, but 2nd fav would be Sand Dune Table lamp.

Hope you’re doing well and God is orchestrating life settling down into a new and beautiful thing for you! Your few personal references over the past couple of years have rung true with my personal life and they were comforting, knowing I wasn’t alone in these things. Blessings on you! -N

Hey! I honestly love the shape of the Free Giveaway Lamp, the Neutral Clear Glass Table Lamp; however I also love the very similar Bronze Clear Glass Table Lamp. Either of these would work several places in my home, but I’m envisioning it right now in my new, neutral toned living room. Love Kirklands!

Wow, you weren’t kidding when you said they’ve upped their game on lamps. I couldn’t just pick one, so I settled on one from each category. I love the driftwood floor lamp; the champagne crystal buffet lamp; smoke glass and chrome table lamp; and the antique mirror table lamp. Okay, so I guess I had to pick two from that last category. 🙂

It’s hard to decide! I am partial to the Sea Shell Glass Table Lamp and the Metal Blue Table Lamp. Either would look great on a chest in my den. Thanks so much for the great giveaway!

    Gray-Driftwood-Knot-Table-Lamp
I loved the sophisticated yet down to earth look of this lamp. I am a real outdoorsy gal who loves gardening. My son owns a small resort on a lake (lots of driftwood), and it reminded me of him – I would think of him every time I passed by it in the living room!

I like a quite a few of the lamps Kirklands carries. I like the Etched glass lamp and the Peacock blue glass lamp. But I love the one that’s in the giveaway, if I was buying a lamp that is the one I would choose.

Love this pearl glass buffet lamp. I have a 16 candle black iron candle chandy in my dining room, but need light on a long buffet. A pair of these on either end will do the trick! Thanks, Rhoda.
