Labor Day Weekend Thrifty Treasures

Happy Labor Day to all of you! I hope you are doing something fun with family and friends.  I didn’t go anywhere this weekend, but did spend some time with friends.  Went to a high school football game on Friday night. That’s a good all-American thing to do on the weekend, but it was still hot as blazes!

By the way, just a heads up that I’m going to continue the Thrifty Treasures party through the end of September for this year and then we’ll take a break.  Time to get geared up for Fall, Thanksgiving and the whole Holiday season!

ATTENTION ATL girls!

When we all met up for the I Love Thrifting party in July, we talked about meeting up and going to Scott Antiques market in September.  Well, September is here, so if any of you who were with us still want to go or anyone else in the area, let’s plan an outing on Saturday, Sept. 10th.  I can actually do Friday or Saturday, so let me know what works for you.  We can either meet up on the North side of town and follow each other down, or you can meet us at Scott’s at at designated time.  Let me know in the comments if you are interested in doing this or email me: [email protected]

Janet, from The Empty Nest found a beautiful copper teapot out thrifting.

Glenda at Magnolia Bend Drive scored this fab mid-century modern dresser which she promptly passed on. For only $20, I’d say that is a bargain.

Hum, Now What scored a great deal on this antique Victorian bed, for only $99!  That was a steal for this all wood beauty.

I love this cane bed that Nancy from Simply Chic Treasures found for a measly $1!!  Yep, you read that right.

Who can resist jadite?  Second Hand with Style has found some treasures again, with this beauty from the flea market.

Denise with Pink Postcard found an old chest of drawers that she repainted and totally updated.  Got any ideas for those old pieces sitting around?   These are all over the place!

Angela and Debbie rescued this old piece from the curb and gave her new life with a coat of paint and some French words. Ooo-la-la!

Check out this blue velvet beauty that Penny for Penny found for only $12!  Wow, lots of possibilities for this one.

Urban Cottage Decor found this pretty old vintage suitcase at an estate sale. Love the color!

So, what did YOU find this week?

There are a TON of parties out there to highlight all your projects, so please let’s keep this one about thrifty finds that were bought 2nd hand! Not a great sale from the store, or a recipe, or just a plain project, but 2nd Hand finds only!

And please DO NOT go back in your archives to OLD posts and link up. Let’s keep this party fresh and current! If you have already shared your find in a previous party, DON’T share it again! Please, girls, I don’t want to have to delete links.

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! :)
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link. Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

    Good Evening Rhoda,

Thanks so much for featuring my sweet little tea pot…I ended up giving it to my sister who saw my post and fell in love with it. Gotta share the wealth!

This week I’m joining in to share my mirror restyle and my fabulous sheet music find.

Thanks for hosting this great party.

Love seeing everyone’s thrifty finds! Don’t have a blog but I do have a thrifty find I am thrilled with and I’d like to share. Found 12 5-piece place settings (yes, 60 pieces) of Lenox China (Montclair pattern) at Goodwill! My cost? $30.87. Very exciting day!
