Let’s Get Organized!

From BHG January 08

It always happens about this time, the inevitable New Year’s pull to declutter and organize. There’s just something about this time of year that gets the organizational juices flowing, isn’t there? Something about taking down all the Christmas decor & cleaning the house just gets me fired up for taking on those long procrastinated messy drawers & closets. Decluttering. Straightening up. Clearing out. Organizing. I’m feeling it, are you? In case you are too, I thought I’d share some mighty tidy & organized pics with you, if you happen to need a little prodding.
The January magazines are mostly all devoted to organizing, so it is something that is on everyone’s mind. Oh, to be this well kept & put together in my home office. I’ll get there! My office nook is the first place I’m going to tackle.
Tucked away shelves hold baskets for those things that should be handy, but not seen.
Neat stacks of dishes, ready for the table.
And pretty little cubbies in a kitchen, a great place to store & serve.
I really do have some clearing out & straightening to do. My craft closet is in dire need of a clean-out & reorganizing. My clothes closet is looking really pathetic lately & I definitely need to clean it out & give some things away. My office nook is looking more shabby than chic these days. The garage looks like a tornado hit it. Not to mention those 2 drawers in the kitchen that should be labeled “Junk”. So I believe I’ll be busy this month. It’s one of our worst months for weather, so it should be the perfect time to be indoors, tidying up & getting myself organized. Are you feeling it yet?

And a big thank you to all of you who stopped by my Home Again post! Y’all are just the best. I can’t tell you how inspiring it was for me to read about you & your lives too, to see how we are all so much alike, trying to juggle it all & figure things out as we go along, not to mention the different life stages we all face. It’s not always easy being women, but I’m grateful to have met all of you along the journey & thankful that I can share my thoughts with you too. You all gave some great advice & insight. Thanks a bunch! I’m so looking forward to this New Year with all of you!

OK, think me crazy but this post is right up my alley! I love to organize! My daughter says that I am the only one she knows who gets giddy over visiting a container store!

Oh, I’m there with you! I’ve been in a frenzy of organization & cleaning out the past week or so. My husband is afraid to get in my way, I think!

Rhoda, now that you have more “free” time (ha!), wanna come out to AZ, sit in the hot tub, drink a margarita, and then organize my house? My tree isn’t down yet….I’ll leave it up until your arrival… 😉

Rhoda, I enjoyed your organization post, as that is one of our top priorities for this month! Those photos were great!

I’m also very happy for you and DH in the decision for you to stay home. It is definitely a family decision, and I know that you love being home, too. You *know* what my choice will be when the kiddos are done with college and things settle down a bit. Good for you!! 🙂

    Happy New Year!!!

    These are beautiful pictures!

I have two spaces that I’ve got the organizing bug for. You’ve inspired me to get started!

    Blessings!

Organizing can be a bug. I find it helpful to follow the doctor’s advice; stay away from people, rest in a warm room and drink plenty, then the bug will usually pass away in a day or two.

Thanks for some colourful inspiration! I may (possibly) have to give in to the bug, my messy craft room awaits (I tidied the living room and everything found its way there!)
