Marc’s Christmas Home Tour: Part 1

You may remember that I recently featured my sister’s neighbor, Marc, with his front porch all decorated for Fall. Marc is a decorator extraordinaire and works out of Encore Fine Furnishings in Roswell.  Since you all loved his porch so much, wait until you get a gander at the inside of their house.  Marc has decked the halls to the max!  Prepare to be wowed!

Marcs house

Marc and my sis live in a nice neighborhood in Northeast Cobb County here in Marietta.

Marc decorates for every season and I always admire the front of their house every time I drive by.

The front porch greets guests and welcomes visitors for the Holidays.

Look how beautiful this wreath is!

It is gorgeous!  Not sure if Marc made it, but it is really stunning.

Step inside the spacious foyer and the living room is to the right.  Beautiful, traditional, but not at all stuffy.

With a grand piano, there are many touches of Christmas in this room too.

Like this pretty tree on a stand in the living room.

To the left is the dining room, all neutral and done in silvers, mercury glass and white.  It is so gorgeous!

It’s hard to get the whole scope of decorating with whites and silvers, but it just sparkles and shines.

Table centerpiece.

From another angle.  See how pretty it all is?

A wreath in the window and mercury glass balls on top of candlesticks complete this side table.

It was a treat to walk through and see it all.

The sideboard holds bottle brush trees and candles in snow. Lovely!

In the foyer itself, Marc placed an outdoor statue that is perfect for the season, surrounded by red poinsettias.

Looking to the staircase and into the greatroom is the huge tree.  Magnificent!  It’s all Christopher Radko ornaments.

How beautiful is this?

The fireplace and mantel are all aglow too.

Great room looking towards kitchen.

Side wall is equally pretty and that pass through door goes back to the dining room.

The kitchen has been updated and is purely beautiful too.

Breakfast table and island.

Breakfast table centerpiece.

Love this 3 tiered stand on the island all filled up with Christmas cheer.

This is probably my favorite piece in his house, love it!

The kitchen is all festive and glowy too with so many special little touches.

Beautiful kitchen.

See all the Santas Marc has displayed?

Going out to the sunroom is a teacart with pretties on it.

Look at this HUGE Ball canning jar.  Inside is a battery candle which is so happy and pretty. Marc said he found this at the hardware store in Sylva, NC.  It is the biggest Ball canning jar I’ve ever seen. It just so happens I’m going back to the Cottage next month and we might have to take a trip back to nearby Sylva.

Sideboard off the kitchen has more Christmas cheer.

Love this happy little red and white tree.

Looking back towards the greatroom.

Above on the landing upstairs looking down at the gigantic beautiful tree.

Right off the kitchen is their beautiful sunroom, all aglow in yellow paint.

It is a happy, yet calming space.  Love the nativity.

This room has some great features and a pretty fruit tree.

With brick floors, what character it has.  That’s one of the doggies in the house.

Pretty sparkly balls and a lantern sit on the coffee table.

Side chair and tables.

That completes the downstairs portion of Marc’s house.  We will visit upstairs in the master suite, as well as the fully furnished basement.  It’s all eye candy too!  Be sure and come back Thursday for Part 2 and 3!

  1. So love the magnificent tree with Radko ornaments! WOWOWOW! have never seen such a HUGE Ball canning jar either, would love one of those myself. Fabulous home!

  3. How truly lovely their home is! So nice to get to see the lovely decorations and all of their pretties. Thanks for sharing.

  4. As Candice Olsen would say “how devine”. Such a beautiful house and Christmas decorations. Every room was eye candy.

  5. I just love this house and the last house you featured too! They really reflect the owners and are very unique. They also use a lot of COLOR. I am tired of all the white and burlap that is being used in home right now. Thank you for the great tours.

  6. Of all the Christmas house tours I have seen in Blogdom this year, Marc’s is my favorite!

  7. I love all of the color!! And that huge tree with Radko ornaments is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

  8. This house is absolutely amazing! I was given so many ideas (for next year, of course!) And find those huge Ball jars for us.

  9. Start to finish, it’s just stunning!

  10. Oh so beautiful!! And you capture the beauty with your picture-taking talents! Great job. Merry Christmas!

  11. What a beautiful home they have! As a Santa collector, it’s one of my favorite posts on your blog. To see them tastefully displayed, is delightful! Love the bottlebrush trees in the snow, the Santa in the foyer, and the kitchen is just awesome. Can’t wait to see the rest! Wish you would do a post on how they store the stuff. ;o)

  12. My goodness, Rhoda. You find the most beautiful homes to share with us! It must take him several months to decorate and another several months to take it all down! 🙂 Gorgeous pictures!

  13. Wow – Just Wow! I really don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that level of decoration. So beautiful. And your photography skills – Wow again! Did you take photography courses? Anyone know of any great on-line photography courses? I’d love to know.

  14. I love this tour. I think it might be my favorite. That tree in the great room is so beautiful.

  15. Wow, I love Marc’s house. It truly is exquisite. It’s funny seeing that huge Ball Mason jar. I bought one that big several years ago for my sister-in-law who was collecting unique jars to showcase above her kitchen cabinets. I found hers at Wal-mart of all places for $15. I gave it to her for Christmas but I never thought of turning it into a candle holder or “snow globe” like Marc did his. I did however fill it with all sorts of kitchen towels and gadgets. I like Marc’s idea better. Thanks for sharing.

  16. Rhoda, Marc’s home is gorgeous. He has done so much work and it shows! Simply fabulous!

  29. Marc. Jones says:

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful home with us. Marc really LOVES Christmas decorating and it is quite evident with all of his amazing displays. Such a treat!

  31. I had the pleasure of seeing Marc’s home and it is truly a magnificent Christmas wonderland. His attention to detail is incredible. Great photos, great blog, looking forward to Part 2

  32. Just when I was kind of happy with a more “less is more” look this year here at home. sigh. Rhoda, what a wonderful, beautiful home. I could be soooo happy to move right in. Thanks so much for always being a bright spot in the blogging world, and an inspiration!

  33. Oh, Rhoda,
Have had to miss so much lately, but what a great day I chose to take a peek again at your blog! this is so lovely- not overdone, but classy, elegant, and yet, still home sweet homey. So inviting! The Radko tree is unbelievable-really ALL and only , Radko? What a treasure trove…. and what a job he did!
I too, love all the beautiful color, and could spend the holiday there blissfully! Thanks for sharing,( You too, Marc!) may you both have a blessed, merry Christmas, and the best New Year ever!

  34. Wow! I love every room! Puts my house to shame! Thank you so much for sharing! I can tell you take a lot of love and attention to make your house sparkle at Christmas!

  35. Oh.My.Word! Love it, love it, love it! Could move right in. Is that possible? LOL

    Christmas hugs,

  36. Love this house! Would LOVE to see another tour After Christmas just with his everyday decor. Love that he isn’t afraid to use some color! And has such a classy and timeless look. It’s so refreshing to see a beautiful home that isn’t following all of the “trendy stuff” you see in so many blogs. Thank you for a great post!

  37. Sarah, thanks for the kind comments. I believe any good designer will mix some of the new “trends” with timeless and traditional design. That is what I have tried to do in my home and with all my clients, and while I love whites, creams and taupe,I have to have color in my surroundings to even it all out! Merry Christmas! ……and stay tuned, part two is Thursday!

  38. Rhoda, thanks again, just to clarify ,as several have asked, I do all my wreaths, centerpieces and decor. I was in the floral industry for decades so I stay in touch with my inner florist! The wreath on the front door is my creation as all the ones inside also! It is fun to create new ones every few years! Happy holidays to you!

  39. What a beautiful home! I wouldn’t mind seeing it after Christmas just decorated “regular”…*hint hint* 🙂

  40. Wow! Just stunning. It’s going to take awhile to sit and go through these pics…so many details to take in.

Thanks to you for doing such a beautiful job shooting his home. And thanks to Marc for allowing you to share his home with all of us. Can’t wait for Pt. 2 (and 3 and 4 and….)

    Have a Merry Christmas, Rhoda!

  42. Absolutely gorgeous! Just love every little corner! So fun to discover your blog!

  43. What a fantastic house, I cannot imagine how long it must have taken to put up all those decorations. My favourite is the dining room.

    Lee 🙂

  44. I love love love your home! Thank you so much for sharing. I love your small gingerbread tree! I was thinking of doing something similar in my kitchen this year.

  45. Carolyn Gibson says:

Do you happen to know what the paint color/glaze color is on the gray/blue wall unit in this house?

  1. […] Although this Christmas decoration will cost you more than a dollar, it is still way much cheaper than other types of décor. You can get the tree from the Dollar store, but you will need to use your creativity to arrange them and have some fake snow and lighting to enhance the theme. via southernhospitalityblog […]
