Marc’s Christmas Home Tour: Part 1

You may remember that I recently featured my sister’s neighbor, Marc, with his front porch all decorated for Fall. Marc is a decorator extraordinaire and works out of Encore Fine Furnishings in Roswell.  Since you all loved his porch so much, wait until you get a gander at the inside of their house.  Marc has decked the halls to the max!  Prepare to be wowed!

Marcs house

Marc and my sis live in a nice neighborhood in Northeast Cobb County here in Marietta.

IMG_0384

Marc decorates for every season and I always admire the front of their house every time I drive by.

IMG_0386

The front porch greets guests and welcomes visitors for the Holidays.

IMG_0387

Look how beautiful this wreath is!

IMG_0388

It is gorgeous!  Not sure if Marc made it, but it is really stunning.

IMG_0390

Step inside the spacious foyer and the living room is to the right.  Beautiful, traditional, but not at all stuffy.

IMG_0391

With a grand piano, there are many touches of Christmas in this room too.

IMG_0609

Like this pretty tree on a stand in the living room.

IMG_0395

To the left is the dining room, all neutral and done in silvers, mercury glass and white.  It is so gorgeous!

IMG_0397

It’s hard to get the whole scope of decorating with whites and silvers, but it just sparkles and shines.

IMG_0402

Table centerpiece.

IMG_0604

From another angle.  See how pretty it all is?

IMG_0398

A wreath in the window and mercury glass balls on top of candlesticks complete this side table.

IMG_0605

It was a treat to walk through and see it all.

IMG_0603

The sideboard holds bottle brush trees and candles in snow. Lovely!

IMG_0606

In the foyer itself, Marc placed an outdoor statue that is perfect for the season, surrounded by red poinsettias.

IMG_0607

Looking to the staircase and into the greatroom is the huge tree.  Magnificent!  It’s all Christopher Radko ornaments.

IMG_0403

How beautiful is this?

IMG_0404

The fireplace and mantel are all aglow too.

IMG_0407

Great room looking towards kitchen.

IMG_0411

Side wall is equally pretty and that pass through door goes back to the dining room.

IMG_0414

The kitchen has been updated and is purely beautiful too.

IMG_0415

Breakfast table and island.

IMG_0417

Breakfast table centerpiece.

IMG_0418

Love this 3 tiered stand on the island all filled up with Christmas cheer.

IMG_0419

This is probably my favorite piece in his house, love it!

IMG_0423

The kitchen is all festive and glowy too with so many special little touches.

IMG_0425

Beautiful kitchen.

IMG_0443

See all the Santas Marc has displayed?

IMG_0429

Going out to the sunroom is a teacart with pretties on it.

IMG_0449

Look at this HUGE Ball canning jar.  Inside is a battery candle which is so happy and pretty. Marc said he found this at the hardware store in Sylva, NC.  It is the biggest Ball canning jar I’ve ever seen. It just so happens I’m going back to the Cottage next month and we might have to take a trip back to nearby Sylva.

IMG_0440

Sideboard off the kitchen has more Christmas cheer.

IMG_0441

Love this happy little red and white tree.

IMG_0446

Looking back towards the greatroom.

IMG_0456

Above on the landing upstairs looking down at the gigantic beautiful tree.

IMG_0433

Right off the kitchen is their beautiful sunroom, all aglow in yellow paint.

IMG_0435

It is a happy, yet calming space.  Love the nativity.

IMG_0436

This room has some great features and a pretty fruit tree.

IMG_0437

With brick floors, what character it has.  That’s one of the doggies in the house.

IMG_0451

Pretty sparkly balls and a lantern sit on the coffee table.

IMG_0453

Side chair and tables.

That completes the downstairs portion of Marc’s house.  We will visit upstairs in the master suite, as well as the fully furnished basement.  It’s all eye candy too!  Be sure and come back Thursday for Part 2 and 3!

Enjoy!

Love this house! Would LOVE to see another tour After Christmas just with his everyday decor. Love that he isn’t afraid to use some color! And has such a classy and timeless look. It’s so refreshing to see a beautiful home that isn’t following all of the “trendy stuff” you see in so many blogs. Thank you for a great post!

Sarah, thanks for the kind comments. I believe any good designer will mix some of the new “trends” with timeless and traditional design. That is what I have tried to do in my home and with all my clients, and while I love whites, creams and taupe,I have to have color in my surroundings to even it all out! Merry Christmas! ……and stay tuned, part two is Thursday!

Rhoda, thanks again, just to clarify ,as several have asked, I do all my wreaths, centerpieces and decor. I was in the floral industry for decades so I stay in touch with my inner florist! The wreath on the front door is my creation as all the ones inside also! It is fun to create new ones every few years! Happy holidays to you!

Thanks to you for doing such a beautiful job shooting his home. And thanks to Marc for allowing you to share his home with all of us. Can’t wait for Pt. 2 (and 3 and 4 and….)

    Have a Merry Christmas, Rhoda!
