Since this is such a strange time in our country right now, we probably won’t all be celebrating with our moms like we usually do on Mothers Day. I’m hoping things might be improved by May 10th, but in case it’s not better, I’m joining a few friends and we are all sharing ways we can celebrate Mothers Day even if it’s not in person. We have been having lunch with our parents and eating outside on the carport so we can keep our distance from them. It’s hard not being able to hug them right now, but it’s better to be safe about it.
I hope you enjoy all of these posts, please read all the way to the end to see all my friends’ links as well.
Mom and Dad are doing well. Several of you have asked about them and they are staying home and doing well so far. We have ordered groceries for them online and pick them up, so they are stocked up with groceries too.
{Mothers Day 2019}
I know Lauren and the girls will not be home for Mothers Day this year. Lauren is 5 months pregnant and has been staying close to home with all this mess going on, so we will miss them this year, but I’m hoping that Renee and I can celebrate with mom in some way. I miss our family celebrations.
It’s nice to celebrate each and every Mothers Day since we don’t know when the last one will be.
I’m so glad I still have both my parents and that’s a rarity these days. Mark has both of his parents as well and that is extraordinary.
How about some ideas for celebrating Mothers Day if we can be together in person.
Send Flowers
This is an old standby, but it still works. There are many floral delivery services these days, and you can choose one of them and send your mama flowers. Or deliver a spring plant right to her front door if she’s close to you. My mom loves flowers and plants and we have given her many plants over the years. I think I get my love of growing flowers from her. Even a bouquet from the grocery store with a card delivered to her door would be a nice Mothers Day gesture. Everyone loves flowers!
Buy her Something Sparkly
Depending on the age of your mom, most mothers love jewelry. Grace & Heart jewelry who I’m a consultant with, has some great Mothers Day promotions, so take a look and see if you might see something your mom might like. Sparkles are great anytime! For May, there are some beautiful Mothers Day jewelry options for some great prices. And if you spend $59, there’s a bonus reward of the pearl earrings for free and the pearl necklace is $19 with a $59 purchase, so those are great prices. Buy something for you and something for your mom! Just click my link to shop if interested! Remember this jewelry is sterling silver with semi-precious stones and the pearls are real. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Does she Love Books? Send her a favorite author’s book in the mail.
Books are always a great choice and they are so easy to buy online and through Amazon. I’m a big reader (or used to be before blogging). Many women love reading so books are always a great choice.
Restaurant Gift Card
Everyone loves to eat out, don’t they? Send her a favorite restaurant gift card for when we can all go out to eat again. Many restaurants are doing take out right now, so that could come in handy too.
Spa Gift Card
Most women don’t always spend money on a spa day, so give your mom a facial or pampering session.
Manicure & Pedicure
Is mom a stylish woman who loves to get her nails and toes done? Treat her to a manicure and pedicure. Maybe that’s something she doesn’t usually splurge on, but would enjoy. Most women love this kind of pampering!
Sleepwear
Moms can always use new PJs or robes, can’t they? Treat her to a new pair of stylish pajamas and get the style she likes. There is no once size fits all for moms, so come up with something your mom would enjoy, no matter her age.
Here are a few pajama ideas I found online, the sales are really good right now! Affiliate links used.
I’m also blog hopping some other friends who are sharing their ideas for Mothers Day at home this year, since it will more than likely look very different than previous years. Please stop by and visit them all!

You are correct….this will be unlike any Mother’s Day we’ve had before. You are blessed to be able to still go see your parents. We’re back in Michigan from our Florida condo…and our governor here has placed on ridiculous restrictions. Ridiculous. . . and that’s all I’d better say about that. 😡😡😡
Rhoda says
Our governor just lifted some restrictions, so I’m actually in agreement with him. We all still have to be cautious, but I’m glad to see some businesses will start to open next week with restrictions in place.

Love your postings. I live in Canada and right now it is still cold and dreary and your postings give me a lift in these unsettling times.
Rhoda says
Thank you, Cathy, I’m trying to stay positive during this time. We are all ready for normal again.

Great ideas! I actually ordered flowers for my mom yesterday, to be delivered Mother’s Day weekend. I figured I would beat the ordering rush and possibly even get a better price if I shopped early! I’ll mail her a card and possibly a small gift, but I took care of the big gift early.
Rhoda says
That’s a great idea! Flowers are always appreciated.

Love your ideas. Both my mom and mother-in- law are deceased. I always purchased robes or outfits for them. It was fun and they truly enjoyed receiving. Your family pictures always bring a smile to my face. Thank you for sharing. Enjoying a birthday tomorrow and delivering large pieces of cake to doorsteps of my family.
Rhoda says
Hi, Sandy, than you so much. That sounds like a good celebration during this time!

I’m so glad your parents are still doing well. Mine have both been gone for 14+ years now.
