New Season: Today’s Thrifty Treasures

Thrifty Treasures is back!

Can I get a big YIPPEE!  I can’t wait to see all the finds out there and I’m glad y’all are excited about starting this party back again.

I got a couple of things on  Saturday, but I’m going to showcase my friend, Debbie’s recent find first.  She and her hubby have a new cute little condo in Gulf Shores and Debbie’s been working hard to get it spruced up.  So, she picked up 3 ladderback chairs at a flea market out near her in Wilsonville for $35 for the trio.  The above pic is not hers, but this is similar to what they looked like in their BEFORE state. Picture 001

Debbie (on the left) and her daughter, Tiffany, have been really busy with projects lately, so they got busy with a pretty shade of aqua on these chairs and now they are beach-worthy for sure.  Picture 003

Debbie said they look perfect at the beachhouse and hopefully, I’ll be seeing them in person really soon.  A yummy shade of blue-green is perfect for sprucing up some vintage ladderback chairs, don’t you think?

I got Debbie and Tiffany up early on Saturday and we hit a few sales in our area. Here are the 3 things I found:

Picture 004

A cute little old bird to add to my white dish collection in the dining room. He was only 25 cents, so that was a no-brainer.

Picture 006

$1 for this nice old hammer, I can always use an extra of these.

Picture 019

I spotted this for $2 and wasn’t sure what it was, but I knew what I could do with it.  I’ve had problems with moisture getting underneath my clay planter in the foyer that holds my corn plant.

Picture 020

Now, it’s up off the floor and moisture shouldn’t be a problem anymore.  That might be what it was intended for, not sure but it was the  perfect solution. Picture 022

So, now it’s YOUR turn!  What have YOU found lately.  Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url.  To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url.  Last year, I can’t tell you how many links I had to fix.  This year I might get mean & delete them, so PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time!  🙂
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.

I’m happy this party is back…and on my birthday week. I don’t have any thing to share because I have the flu, and I’m just starting to feel better.

Oh well, my plans for thrifting were a wash out ~ literally with the rain we’ve been getting for three days straight! Hopefully, I’ll have something to link up next time, but I will enjoy seeing everyone else’s thrifty finds!

Posts like this make me so unhappy that I’ve yet to find a good thrift store near me! Our local Goodwill is, well, not very good.
I love the bird you found! It’s gorgeous.

Rhoda, I am so glad to have this meme back, once again! I finally got out to do some thrifting after not being able to do much for the past few months. But Mr. Sullivan is doing much better and I didn’t feel guilty getting out last week. Love how you re-purposed your “plant-stand.” And that little white bird… wowie, excellent price! Happy St. Paddy’s Day Wishes to ya from this Irish lass!

Howdy Dear Rhoda!!! Yes, I’ll give you a YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! (Done in my best Minnie Pearl voice–do you remember when she used to do that high pitched “Howdy?” 🙂
I suppose I’m exposing my age with that little golden nugget of history! 😉
I have missed being able to stop by to see you & haven’t updated my own blog in over 4 weeks…but I jumped back in there tonight! I’m going to my church’s thrift store tomorrow and will report back in soon as I ALWAYS find something amazing there! I’m also planning an entire little road trip around thrifting soon because I head that Franklin, TN (less than 2 hours from Huntsville) is full of fab finds and I have friends up there close by so I’m going to try to hit up several thrift stores AND have a good ol’ visit. I’ll let you know what I find! Also, recently you highlighted one of my favorite newer blogs, Playing Sublimely! She just seems so sweet and that house reno was fantastic! I’m so glad you brought more folks to her as I think she is kind AND talented, just like you!
Love, hugs and turquoise joy, Lana
