Office in Progress!
I’m so excited to have a nice office space to decorate in my new house, and I’m planning to take full advantage of the space and maximize it to the fullest. I have had the best time figuring out what I want to do in there, and the color of the walls is one of those important little details. I love green, so it was natural for me to want to use green in my office again. But this time I’m going to kick it up a notch and really have some fun in there. ![]()
Here’s one of my big inspiration pieces. These are the Blad panels from Ikea in green, and I’ve had a little crush on them for a while now. I have used them before on inspiration boards, so I figured it might be time for me to use them myself. I love the fresh greens and blues in these panels, and they will be the perfect inspiration piece to pull from, since they have all the colors I love. Now I’ll be adding some turquoise in my office as well, and that will be fun. I can’t wait to show you all my plans and see how this office evolves!
But first, here’s a sneak peek at the wall color. I chose a very similar color to the ones on the Chip It! card. This color is Fennel and I had it mixed in HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams satin paint. I had seen this color used in someone’s home and fell in love with it. Finding a good green can sometimes be hard, but using the Chip It! tool can help you narrow down your choices.
Cutting in around the ceiling and windows. That red will soon be gone.
I really love this chartreuse lime green, and it should be an invigorating color to wake me up in the morning. I want my office to be a happy space, and this will do the trick. For the closet, I’ve decided to leave off the bifold doors and let it all be open. I have plans to add a storage piece in there with big baskets to help keep me organized. And I’m going to paint the inside of the closet with a turquoise color. That will really liven up my office space!
Be sure to try out the Chip It! button so you’ll have it handy when you see an inspiration pic you want to try out. You can get the Chip It! button just like the Pin It button for Pinterest. First you drag the Chip It! button to your toolbar:
Whenever you spot a photo you like online, just click the Chip It! button and then click the photo itself. Instantly, you get the picture’s paint colors. Try it out and see how you like it. It’s fun to see all those pretty colors in one palette to get that inspiration flowing.
For a chance to win a $1,000 Visa gift card and a $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card, tell me about an image you’d like to “chip” (include a link to the image, if you like!).

You will need to hurry with this renovation (and post pics ASAP) 🙂 I LOVE IT (the curtains just make the room)… and was already planning on doing my “office” in blues and greens. (But I do not have a decorating bone in my body )
I am planning to Chipit lots of others since we are also remodeling a whole house. Going to find a great picture of a peacock to see what that gives me 🙂 Would be fabulous to win!!!
I am using ChipIt to pick my kitchen and former den/now master bedroom color.
Rhoda…love those drapes…they would make your office so “happy” to be there…!…Love Chip It…I would definitely “chip” my sunroom as I have been wanting to paint that room another color!….
I love it. Which green did you use? I’m doing my laundry room in turquoise and green. This is why I love your blog. Color!

The blouse in this set is a great color & when I used the Chip-It tool I found Dutch Cocoa and Rose Tan. Since I’m turning the room left empty when my last child moved out, into a nest for myself I’ve been trying to find colors that will perfectly suit my hopes for the space.
what a fabulous idea—can’t wait to use Chip It!!!
Love the green color so so much! Good choice! I would chip pictures of hydrangeas/purple hues to find the perfect wall color.
I want to chip a picture of my daughter’s eyes. They are the most glorious shade of blue!
I would Chip It things from around my yard like a broken robin’s egg, faded Hydrangea blooms, or my sun worn red enamel flower bucket. What a handy thing! Installing the button now…
How inventive a tool. Now if I could only win.
Your office will be beautiful and I love the Fennel green! I just used a similar color in my bathroom. Chip It is so cool I’m using it for my kitchen remodel. Thanks Rhoda.
Years ago when we had our first home, a 1620 style saltbox, built I painted the trim and doors in the guest bedroom that same green. It was a BenjMoore paint color which I don’t remember. But, I loved it and never tired of it. Especially as I looked out the window to a leafy canopy. (At least it is the same green as I see on my screen. Your description isn’t exactly the way I would describe it. I’ll have to go and get a paint chip to see. I’d love to use that color again.)
Can’t wait to see your office as it progresses. Everything is coming together beautifully!
I love this idea! I can’t wait to try it. I painted my office a green also, but it is Sherman Williams “Hazel”. How could I resist; that was my mother’s name!
Becki
I’m all about blue skies. The variation in colors can be so great and just laying outside on a quilt and watching the sky can be very relaxing.
I pinned a photo of an outfit that I love that is neutrals with pops of tangerine and lime. I would love to chip it and incorporate the pops of color in my house!
I know what I’d like to use it on, but haven’t been able to find a picture online. I tried for a while in finding a paint chip that matched to the color of the cover Country Home that has a light blue kitchen on the cover. I want that color for my dining chairs. However I’ve lost my issue of the magazine and haven’t found the cover picture online or it would be perfect to use on that one. I even tried a Google image search of Country Home cover and blue kitchen, but when I finally find it I will use it for sure.
I’d “Chip It” a Lulie Wallace painting, so I’d get one of her great coral shades.
I’d love to use Chip It on some of the pics on the Ballard’s web site.
I would love to ChipIt this sweet little girls dress:

Love the curtains! Hoping my husband will allow me to do something a bit different in our office 🙂
I would use “chip it” on any of these photos: http://www.designzzz.com/spring-pictures-photographs/, but mainly the one titled “Sweet Spring.”
