Office in Progress!
I’m so excited to have a nice office space to decorate in my new house, and I’m planning to take full advantage of the space and maximize it to the fullest. I have had the best time figuring out what I want to do in there, and the color of the walls is one of those important little details. I love green, so it was natural for me to want to use green in my office again. But this time I’m going to kick it up a notch and really have some fun in there. ![]()
Here’s one of my big inspiration pieces. These are the Blad panels from Ikea in green, and I’ve had a little crush on them for a while now. I have used them before on inspiration boards, so I figured it might be time for me to use them myself. I love the fresh greens and blues in these panels, and they will be the perfect inspiration piece to pull from, since they have all the colors I love. Now I’ll be adding some turquoise in my office as well, and that will be fun. I can’t wait to show you all my plans and see how this office evolves!
But first, here’s a sneak peek at the wall color. I chose a very similar color to the ones on the Chip It! card. This color is Fennel and I had it mixed in HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams satin paint. I had seen this color used in someone’s home and fell in love with it. Finding a good green can sometimes be hard, but using the Chip It! tool can help you narrow down your choices.
Cutting in around the ceiling and windows. That red will soon be gone.
I really love this chartreuse lime green, and it should be an invigorating color to wake me up in the morning. I want my office to be a happy space, and this will do the trick. For the closet, I’ve decided to leave off the bifold doors and let it all be open. I have plans to add a storage piece in there with big baskets to help keep me organized. And I’m going to paint the inside of the closet with a turquoise color. That will really liven up my office space!
Be sure to try out the Chip It! button so you’ll have it handy when you see an inspiration pic you want to try out. You can get the Chip It! button just like the Pin It button for Pinterest. First you drag the Chip It! button to your toolbar:
Whenever you spot a photo you like online, just click the Chip It! button and then click the photo itself. Instantly, you get the picture’s paint colors. Try it out and see how you like it. It’s fun to see all those pretty colors in one palette to get that inspiration flowing.
For a chance to win a $1,000 Visa gift card and a $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card, tell me about an image you’d like to “chip” (include a link to the image, if you like!).

Rhoda, I tweeted this post! Thanks for hosting this amazing giveaway!
I have a couple of chairs that I have had for some time and I still love the fabric on the chairs. Since we are in the process of finding someone to paint the interior of our home I would love to chip the chair fabric to find the color to paint my keeping room.
Thanks Rhoda, I love green and I think your paint choice for your office will be lovely and fun.
GREAT GIVEAWAY! It would help a lot with our painting expenses.

I would use Chip It on a painting in a calendar to get some color choices for my daughter’s room.
I would use the “chip it” tool on some magazine pages I’ve torn out as inspiration for our family room.
I need to use Chip It on the exterior of my house….as it needs to be painted and I’m looking for colors now! I’ve got a mixture of Stucco with some old looking red brick accents. Trying to match a taupe/tan color with the brick. Great giveway! Keeping my fingers crossed!
I’ve got a dog-eared picture of the exterior of a beautiful house that was in Southern Living years ago- I’d love to figure out (once and for all!) what the best match for those paint colors would be to duplicate on our own house!
Oh, I would definitely chip those Blad panels, too! I just love green and turquoise together! Excellent choice!
I want to “chip” your green wall color…love it! Great idea!
Gosh, I love the color you chose for your office walls! I have a similar color in the open area of my house and am surprized how easy it is to decorate with/around seasonally. I would love to win the giveaway to paint some other places in my home that are not as cherr-y.
I’d like to chip one of the gorgeous sunsets we’ve had lately. 🙂
I would chip an orange and green pillow that I have…….want a green for the wall in our “sun room”. Love the color you have chosen for your office.
I’d love to chip a room that I found on pinterest! Its super cute, Turquoise and bright pink! I want to replicate it for my girls’ room.
Oh, I love the idea of Chip It! We’re updating our guest bedroom, so it will come in very handy when we get that project started. Thanks for the info.! 🙂
OK, I added the chip it, now I need to use it. I have an image I want to chip which I had saved in my photos, so I don’t know if this is going to work. It is also green. Can’t wait to see your office — I love the color.
Love the color – let us know how you like that particular brand of paint! Curious to see how it goes on!
I just decided that I needed to use Chip It for the paint colors in my office as well. It’s a very light pink that has been there since I moved in, so it’s definitely time to update! I am going to use an image of a green door in Ireland.
Everything is going to look so awesome!
I tried to install chip it, but it wasn’t showing up in my favs. I changed from explorer to chrome to see if that would work, but it didn’t. I called the company and they couldn’t help so I guess I’ll just have to live vicariously through you.
