Office in Progress!
I’m so excited to have a nice office space to decorate in my new house, and I’m planning to take full advantage of the space and maximize it to the fullest. I have had the best time figuring out what I want to do in there, and the color of the walls is one of those important little details. I love green, so it was natural for me to want to use green in my office again. But this time I’m going to kick it up a notch and really have some fun in there. ![]()
Here’s one of my big inspiration pieces. These are the Blad panels from Ikea in green, and I’ve had a little crush on them for a while now. I have used them before on inspiration boards, so I figured it might be time for me to use them myself. I love the fresh greens and blues in these panels, and they will be the perfect inspiration piece to pull from, since they have all the colors I love. Now I’ll be adding some turquoise in my office as well, and that will be fun. I can’t wait to show you all my plans and see how this office evolves!
But first, here’s a sneak peek at the wall color. I chose a very similar color to the ones on the Chip It! card. This color is Fennel and I had it mixed in HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams satin paint. I had seen this color used in someone’s home and fell in love with it. Finding a good green can sometimes be hard, but using the Chip It! tool can help you narrow down your choices.
Cutting in around the ceiling and windows. That red will soon be gone.
I really love this chartreuse lime green, and it should be an invigorating color to wake me up in the morning. I want my office to be a happy space, and this will do the trick. For the closet, I’ve decided to leave off the bifold doors and let it all be open. I have plans to add a storage piece in there with big baskets to help keep me organized. And I’m going to paint the inside of the closet with a turquoise color. That will really liven up my office space!
Be sure to try out the Chip It! button so you’ll have it handy when you see an inspiration pic you want to try out. You can get the Chip It! button just like the Pin It button for Pinterest. First you drag the Chip It! button to your toolbar:
Whenever you spot a photo you like online, just click the Chip It! button and then click the photo itself. Instantly, you get the picture’s paint colors. Try it out and see how you like it. It’s fun to see all those pretty colors in one palette to get that inspiration flowing.
For a chance to win a $1,000 Visa gift card and a $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card, tell me about an image you’d like to “chip” (include a link to the image, if you like!).

I would use chip it to match the color of Crater Lake in the morning sun. Love the color, but I’m not sure if it would work for a whole room, maybe an accent wall. If I win, I know who to email for advice! I am a new follower of your blog, and am paint phobic, living in a house with trim and doors just like in your home renovation. You have been since an inspiration to me. I don’t know when I’ll start, but I now feel like I know what to buy and how to get started. Thank You.
