Hello, hello! Â When I moved in my house almost 3 years ago, in October, I had an open house that following January and invited all my local readers and blog friends to come over. Â It was such a fun event and I had a great turnout. Â My family was here too and many of you got to meet my parents and my sister.
Â
I have been mulling over the idea of doing another Open House since so much has been completed around here after I moved in. Â The screen porch and patio have been completed, as has the entire outdoor renovation, including front yard plants. Â So MUCH has changed around here since January of 2013. Â
So, I wanted to put out a Save the Date and tell you all that I’m planning another Open House for all my local readers and blog friends (anyone who wants to drive is welcome!). Â Right now, I’m planning on Saturday, September 19th, from 1 to 5 pm, so put it on your calendar. Â I’ve already alerted my parents that they have to be here, so they are planning on coming too. Â
You have all been so supportive of me and my blog over the years and I just want to extend an invitation to come and tour it all in person. Â The first one was so much fun and I think this one will be even better.
I’ll do signups on Eventbrite, like I did last time and you can sign up with your name and address. Â This is so I know who is coming and then I’ll email out the particulars on my address and all. Â It worked well last time and I’m sure it will be fine again this time. Â I’ll do another post in a couple of weeks with the link to Eventbrite and then you all can sign up.
I hope some of you who missed it last time can make it this time! Looking forward to meeting any of you in the local area who read my blog!
I’m off on another big adventure tomorrow. Â I’ll be flying up to Michigan with GMC, where I’ll be joining some other blog friends. We’ll be driving down the Longest Yardsale all the way back to Atlanta, where we will be buying things along the way to decorate a Habitat for Humanity house when we get back. Â It will be exhausting, but full of fun too, I’m sure! Â Of course, I’ll share it all when I return. Â If you want to watch what’s going on as it’s happening, follow me on Instagram or my Facebook page. Â
Rhoda, wish I wasn’t so far away, I would love to meet the people I have my morning coffee with every day!! So nice of you to open your home to your “blog family.”
oh how fun! i sure hope that I will be able to come over. what an exciting 3 years it has been for your home. it’s beautiful.
Love your porch…would you please share the ceiling color? Thank you…enjoy reading your blog!
HI, Patti, the ceiling is Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams.
Thank you! Beautiful!
I have used SW Rainwashed in a bunch of rooms and it is a beautiful color!
I wish I lived in your area because I would love to attend your open house! For now, I’ll just have to enjoy your beautiful home online. I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Michigan where you’ll be starting your yard sale journey! I’ve heard this is a wonderful event for Habitat for Humanity and helping families become home owners.
I wish I could come to your Open House, but we’ll be in California on vacation. It was great to meet you at Haven – I think we visited in the ladies’ room. Awesome conference – changed my life. Thanks so much.
Oh Rhoda, this is THE event I’ve been waiting for! I’ve been a loyal follower of your blog, watched as your home was transformed and I love your fashion tips! As luck would have it, I’m making my inaugural trip from California to Georgia in Setptember to attend the White Coat Ceremony at Emory University School of Medicine where my daughter is a student. Sadly, I will be leaving Georgia just three days before your open house. I am so disappointedas as I would love to have met you.
There are so many places to go and things I MUST see while visiting, could you please give me your top three recommendations shopping destinations in the Atlanta/Decatur area? I have allotted myself a couple of days to shop/explore as I understand the area is rich in the shopping experience (so much so that I’m bringing an extra suitcase for my treasures!)
Thank you!
HI, Lana, oh I’m so sorry you won’t be able to be here, that would have been fun. Enjoy your visit to GA. I don’t know all the shopping around Decatur, but there is Kudzu Antiques down that way that is a fun place to visit, so at least try that one. I don’t know how far you want to travel, but Ballard Outlet in Roswell is fun too. Sometimes you can get good bargains there.
Well if I were not headed to Gulf Shores that day, I would grab my girlfriends that read your blog here in North Alabama and we would head to Atlanta. My son recently moved to Canton and we are planning to build a cabin on the family farm in Chatsworth so maybe I will be able to catch the next one you do!! Good luck on finding treasures in the yard sale…sounds fun!
Can’t wait.
I’d be there in a heartbeat if I could.
I have been following your blog since day 1!
I’m sure your open house will be a success. All the best to you!
Wow, Linda, that’s amazing you have been with me that long. Thank you SO much!
Morning Greetings Friends
Living in a southwest suburb of Chicago I suspect I will be with you all in spirit that day.
Rhoda, in recently seeing your porch pictures, which I love, mine has been getting enhanced and thrilled with what’s happened thusfar. For example, hung a plate rack and picture, brought the black plant stand from the living room to the porch(!), changed out the wicker chair cushions to the sofa/2 chairs. Bought a stand up brass lamp at Goodwill for $5 only to spray paint it black and it looks awesome! Fixing to recover the throw pillows, in the market for a narrow bookcase, and waiting for a sale on the ceiling fan I found! This room is being totally transformed and will be hard to leave it when our weather changes. Thank you for the inspiration as the coziness of your porch, and picturing me there, did it!
HI, Julie, that sounds like such a great space. I’m so glad I inspired you to get going on your own porch! I love mine dearly!
YIPPPEEE!!
I finally moved to the Atlanta area, so I feel privileged to be able to attend.
Thank you for your kind and generous invitation. So looking forward to seeing in real life all of your hard work and fabulous DIY projects.
Your dad is going to need to be placed in a little corner where he can sign autographs and pose for pictures with his many devoted fans!! Your house is gorgeous, but I think your dad will be the main attraction that day! 🙂
Would love to come to see your beautiful home! I have been following your blog since the early days and look forward to it every day. I know we live in the say county so Yes, yes, yes please include me!
That sure sounds like fun. Not sure right now what we will be doing in September but I hope to be able to scoot on down to Kennesaw and tour your house in person. I’m just a few miles north of Cartersville.
Yes Mam, I cannot wait to see your house . Saved the date!!!
Hi Rhoda,
I live in Birmingham, but would love to take the drive over to visit with you and see all the wonderful projects you have done in person. So I have marked the calendar and will try to attend. Have a great day!
Angie
Great, Angela! I’d love to have you all from Birmingham.
I enjoy your blog so much. You give great information and creative ideas, and like everyone else, I think your family is terrific. I wish I could come to your Open House, but it would be a long way to drive from my home in California!
I think I live really close to you! Looking forward to stopping by to see all your hard work and get some good ideas.
I am putting your Open House on my calendar and do hope that I can be there to meet you and see your beautiful home! I live in Suwanee, GA and depending on my boys football schedules coming out soon I will venture your way. I Love your blog! Love your style! Thanks for sharing Rhoda!
