On Friday, I shared Part 1 of the Southeastern Designer Showhouse here in Atlanta presented by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine. I was a treat to tour the house as part of the media day and I hope you enjoyed that post with all the details about the house. I won’t repeat them here, but be sure and go to the link above for more information about the house.
Today we will tour the Upper Level of the 11,000 s.f. home.
Open to the public June 4-28, you can find tickets at the Southeastern Designer Showhouse website.
A reminder of the beautiful and stately exterior of the house.
Next we will head upstairs to see the Upper Level.
GIRL’S BEDROOM: Brittany Cason Johnston, Brittany Cason Interior Design
This bathroom was so pretty and feminine.
Now that’s a photo opp with peonies that I’ve never seen before. It’s usually in a kitchen sink, but this is a new one.
I really liked the girl’s bedroom, full of color, pretty wallpaper and very feminine.
This is the closet that goes with that room.
BOY’S BATHROOM: I’m assuming this was part of Josh Pickering design, since he did the boy’s bedroom below.
BOY’S BEDROOM: Josh Pickering, Pickering House LLC
GUEST ROOM: Jared Hughes, Jared Hughes Design
I liked the traditional feel with lots of texture and color in this room.
I lost track of which bathroom this is.
LOFT: Kati Hardwick, B.D. Jeffries
POOL LOUNGE: Randy Korando & Dan Belman, Boxwoods Gardens & Gifts
INDOOR POOL: Melanie Millner, The Design Atelier
I really hope you enjoyed seeing this house inside and out. These houses are a treat to see, even though most of us do not live like this at all. Just getting inspired in finishes and design is reason enough to browse large homes that we don’t normally get to see. I’m always inspired to tour them in person!
There wasn’t much I liked about the decor in those bedrooms. The heavy bed treatments were awful as were the light fixtures. Just all of it was too over the top and not welcoming. But then it was a show home.
Beautiful! I had a double-take on that sketch in the bathroom (black on white). It looks like you Rhoda! 😉
I had to go back and look. She’s holding a camera, which is appropriate!
I agree..much too modern for me. But…it probably is perfect for some people. The framed swim caps ..near the pool was different. Thanks for sharing this place.
A beautiful decorated home, but way over the top. It is a show home of course. It is eye candy. Rhoda, with you could show more fashions!
I love love it all!…Thank you so much for sharing
Have a wonderful Sunday
Not my style 😏
Thanks for sharing! My favorite rooms (by far) were the guest room-that mural!!! and the pool longe. What does it mean that I only really liked these two, “extra“ spaces meant for guests and entertaining? Probably that I wouldn’t enjoy actually living in this house-Ha. I also liked that random, landscape picture you threw in-with that neat border running through the middle (off-set) of the bed.
Even though many of us wouldn’t styling our homes like this, these posts are so fun to read through! Thank you!
This is an $8 million dollar home, so it’s definitely out of the range of most people, but it’s fun to look. That front drive landscape pic was the view from the upper floor and I thought that was pretty too.
Such a beautiful outside with such unfortunate decorating inside. I guess it’s supposed to make one think outside the box. I did like the guest bedroom mural, but the rest is not my cup of tea.
While there are some off the chain designs, the overall mood of art and opulence are perfect for the home. I liked the drapes on the beds; they put me in mind of the Biltmore home and exude wealth and grandeur. I hope whoever lives there has plenty of help in the housekeeping dept. Can you imagine how long it would take to just clean the bathrooms? 🙂 Enjoyed the visit to the show home.
HI, Becky, I can’t imagine keeping a house clean this big either, but if you can afford $8 million, you can afford help to keep it up. Fun to look at how some people live.
Sigh. I guess having been to Santa Barbara and Monterey and seen the real thing it is a travesty that the designers couldn’t put together a cohesive design that does justice to a classic and beautiful architectural style. But this is a pet peave of mine – not decorating in a style that either completely goes against the architecture or in a style that echoes it tastefully. This looked like it was put together with a spin the wheel design board. Your home is lovelier, Rhoda! I do love these designer show homes, though…I also loved the mural in the guest room!
Hi, Janet, I know, it’s hard to love everything in a designer showhouse. They definitely take liberties and do what they want.
Thanks for sharing this! A bit eclectic, for sure, but a beautiful home! Liked the guest room, only room that doesn’t have a “don’t think we’re supposed to be in here” vibe. Loved the curtains with twisty ruffle & the floral wall sconces in the girls bedroom! Liked the old world table & chair; and the mirror in the “lost” bathroom. Oh, those poor peonies! There has to be a better way to discourage visitors from using the house facilities!
I cringed through most of this. But I did like the flowers in the toilet!
Oh my goodness! That was a magnificent tour! My favorite room was the master bathroom. It
was gorgeous. My second favorite was the guest room. I could live there if there were lap pool privileges. Thank you for taking us with you while visiting this beautiful property.
Love this entire house! What are the exterior paint/trim colors?
Sorry I don’t have that information.
