Speed Decorating Book Review & Giveaway

Ilove it when a publisher contacts me about doing a review on a decorating book.  I was recently given the opportunity to receive a copy of the book, Speed Decorating, by pro-stager Jill Vegas and the chance to give away a copy to one of my readers.

So, of course I said a BIG FAT….YES!

It’s full of glossy color pics that I think you’ll really enjoy and Jill focuses on a Speed Decorating Questionnaire evualating the following questions:

  • What are the primary functions of the space?
  • How does the room look?
  • Is everything working?
  • Does the room feel comfy and inviting:

She suggests getting started by answering these questions and gives a lot of practical tips for arriving at a room of your dreams.  I think the book is concise with some well thought out advice that all decorators could take advantage of, even if you don’t have natural skills and talents in this area.

Jill covers all of the following areas in detail with lots of pics:

Entry

Living Room

Kitchen

Dining Room

Bedroom

Bath

Curb Appeal

So, if you’d live to win a copy of this book, just leave a comment here and tell us which room you’d focus on if you were going to do some speed decorating?

Giveaway ends on Friday evening at 6 pm Central time.

I would probably focus on my kitchen. I’m considering painting my cabinets black, but I haven’t gotten up the courage to yet.

Great giveaway! I’d definitely focus on our living room. It’s alright, but feels a little bland right now. Would love some ideas on how to spice it up! 🙂

Getting ready to move into a new home and I can use all the help I can get; this book sounds very interesting…

I sure could use some of this help. The room I would focus on first would be my living room as that is the first room you see when you walk in. I would love to win this.
    Love your designs.

I would focus on my living room filled with outdated and worn out furniture, or maybe curb appeal. Our front yard is so bland. I sure could use some help! I love your ideas too.

I think it would be our living room – The other rooms need lots more to get them up to snuff!

I guess I would have to say the bedroom because that is the area of my home that I am currently remodeling so it is the room that is on my mind the most at this point. My second choice would have to be curb appeal since spring is rapidly approaching!

The entry. It’s the first thing people see and it’s so boring.

We just found out that we’re expecting our first little one, and as I look around, I realize that our living room is anything but kiddo-friendly.

This book looks GREAT. I would do my guest bedroom. My 17-yr old niece is coming to live with us while she goes to school so I would love to create a functional & comfortable room for her to enjoy!
