Spring Decorating Ideas 2019

Hi friends and welcome to a new week! It’s almost officially Spring now and I know we are all glad about that fact. There is just something so fresh and new about spring. The promise of flowers, warmth, and outdoor living is on our minds these days and I am sure feeling the Spring fever myself. I get excited about Spring every year!

Spring Dining Room Decor Ideas

Today, I’m joining a big group of talented bloggers on a Spring home tour and we are all sharing our homes all decked out for Spring with all of you. Marty with A Stroll Thru Life is our hostess for this tour and she always puts together a great group of ladies for this.

If you’re stopping by from Tammy at Pink Peppermint Design, welcome! Tammy has such a beautiful home that she has DIY’d to perfection.

If you’re new to my blog, I’m so glad you stopped by. My husband, Mark and I, have been in our house going on 2 years this summer. We bought the house and have been working on updating it to our tastes ever since. It has great bones and a good floor plan for us, it was just builder’s boring when we bought it.

Come on in and we’ll look around the entry way, living room and dining room. I’ll be sharing the family room and kitchen next week on a spring tour.

I made this front door pocket spring flower arrangement last year, so just brought it back out this year as well. I love the fresh spring greens this time of year.

Our small living room is to the right and it looks pretty much the same as always, but added tulips bring a fresh spring touch in there. We added that board and batten after we moved in.

I love these brightly colored pillows in the living room too. All the trim around the doorway you see as well as the beadboard wainscot in the dining room was done by my husband after we moved in. It’s come a long ways in the almost 2 years we’ve been here.

Orange and blue totally complement each other, so these tulips were such a nice addition to this space.

The coffee table with books and baubles.

These orange tulips go so well with my Chaing Mai pillow covers.

This little space is small, but it packs a lot of style with this gallery wall of vintage art that I’ve collected.

I enjoyed finding every one of these along the years. I love real plants and have them all over the house.

Next door is our dining room in blue and white, my favorite color combination these days. Our house is filled with all shades of blue, from navy, to teal, turquoise, and aqua. I love them all!

I set the table with my blue and white plates and my green Bordallo bunny plates that I’ve had for many years. They go so well together too and it just seems fitting to bring out the bunnies for Spring and Easter.

Love these shades of blue and white and green!

More orange tulips with some other florals make a great looking centerpiece for the table. There’s nothing better than fresh flowers this time of year to bring that spring feeling inside.

At the bottom of the vase, I added some small white bunnies I’ve had for a long time too along with pretty little faux eggs. It’s that time of year!

I enjoy bringing out the pretty dishes for these occasions and really bringing our dining room to life.

On the buffet, part of my blue and white collection looks at home there. If you haven’t noticed yet, I do love blue and white pottery and have quite the collection now!

Another shot of that floral centerpiece, I just love how it came out with all grocery store flowers.

Looking back to the living room.

And a look at the dishes and tablescape.

These dishes are so fun!

I always love this mix of colors, blue and green are so pretty together.

The foyer table gets a fresh spring green look too.

I have fun with this spot too and enjoy changing it out for the seasons.

I got these lanterns from Pottery Barn and used them during Christmas and they fit in so well here too.

That little blue and white bowl is a Goodwill find. That’s an original oil painting that I bought last year and love the colors in it, Charlotte Terrell is the artist. Boxwood topiaries are from Homegoods.

This dough bowl is fun to change out too and this spring green moss, along with faux limes, a twig bird and twig birdsnest was a fun addition. All things green!

That round rattan mirror was a vintage find from thrifting in Florida a couple of years ago. I love that thing!

Down below is a blue and white pot with a real plant, and this cute bunny which came from Soft Surroundings and a pretty piece of white coral.

Here are a few things below that are in my home and some very similar items. The light fixture and buffet lamps from the dining room as well as the rug, Hooker entry table are included below (affiliate links included):

If you missed my recent modern vintage laundry room renovation, check it out too! It’s perpetually spring in my laundry space and I love it so much!

And that’s a Spring tour of those areas in our house. I hope you enjoyed and got some spring inspiration for your house too. This is always such an energizing time of year, getting ready for summer months and more time outdoors. I’ve been working on our deck space getting it ready to use again and I can’t wait to get out there again soon.

Next on the tour is Brooke with Nesting with Grace. She has such a charming home and I know you’ll be get so many ideas stopping by her home too!

Be sure to come back and click on the links to the other tours going on all this week!

Less is More! Less is More! Take half the “stuff” off the dining room table and the table in the entry!!

Lynne, you always seem to come by and disapprove of a lot of what I’m doing, so I’m not sure why you even read my blog? It might not be for you, but I enjoy my table just the way it is. I don’t expect everyone to love everything I do, but I’m the kind of person that just doesn’t say anything if I don’t like it. You know, like our mothers taught us to do?

Love the whole look. You have such a pretty home and have done so much in a short time.
Can you tell me where you found the beautiful Asian pillows?

    Great comeback to Lynne👍🏼

Hi, Sue, Thank you so much! We love our house and look forward to doing more. Yes, the Asian pillows are from a shop called Stuck on Hue. She was on Etsy, but not sure if she is still there or not, so if you Google her, I’m sure she will come up. Here’s another Etsy shop that has them too:https://rstyle.me/+C–cgy4UizHz__Ht8441Jg

I do sometimes have to respond to people who are negative and this was one of them! I’ve learned to have a pretty thick skin blogging, but sometimes people are just rude.

I love your home, especially the touches of orange. When my husband and I moved to Florida from CT a few years ago, I decided to add some orange accents to our new home. I started with faux oranges in glass bowls and have added blue and white china pieces from thrift shops. Like you, I’ve found that orange is great with blue or green. It’s such a fresh look. This is my first time seeing your blog, but I’ll be back.

HI, Susan, those were very lucky finds from Homegoods. They are still available online, but are much more expensive, since they are designer lamps. I have them linked in my post below with shopping in my home. Look for the widget with pics in it.

I love your decorating style and am swooning over the large taupe bookcase/hutch in your living room! I, too, collect blue and white pottery and never tire of its classic beauty. We are empty nesters in Huntsville trying to decide whether to freshen up our large two story home or downsize. You make me want to stay where I am and redecorate/remodel! I’ll be stopping by often for more of your wonderful design inspiration.

Thank you, Monica! Those were one of my best finds ever and I didn’t even know what I had until I got them home and found out they were pricey designer lamps.
