Sunset in Destin

Sunset outside our condo

We brought home three filleted bags of fish, since our friend decided not to keep his, as well as another guy on the boat, so we ended up with a bunch of snapper in the freezer. I’m not complainin’!

In no particular order, I had to show you this meal that we got at Yianni’s, a wonderful Greek restaurant in Seagrove Beach. If you’re down that way, check it out! Great food, service, price is right too. This is the broiled captain’s platter, fresh fish, scallops, & shrimp. It was YUMMY! You know I love to share food with y’all, since that is one of my favorite past-times and I managed to snap a pic of my plate before I devoured it. 🙂

OK, now back to Destin…hanging out at the docks in the marina in Destin. We had fun looking at all the birds just hanging around for a meal.
You will see so many different types of seabirds around and they are very used to people.

The marina is home to many boats in this area and stays very busy.

And another great meal at Dewey Destin.
They have all these cats that live around there and they are very friendly. Hoping someone will throw them a fish, I’m sure. It was just breathtaking and we got to enjoy the most fabulous sunset you can imagine.

I especially love this shot above.

The sun sinking below the horizon.
Ahhhh, sweet tranquility on the water.

What a fun way to have dinner and enjoy a sunset. There are truly no better sunsets than on the water. Don’t miss Dewey Destin if you’re down that way too! It’s a shack on the water and the best kind of food.
That’s all from Florida. I hope you all enjoyed the pics! Back to regular blogging soon.

Did any of you catch Rick and Bubba last night on Hannity & Colmes (Fox News)?? They are Birmingham’s own Rick and Bubba radio personalities and I was SO proud of them. We love them here in our city and they are solid Christians who are not afraid to speak out for the truth. They have a new book out, Rick and Bubba for President and I’m sure it’s a good one. I love those guys!

    Tranquility is the perfect word.

Your pictures are heavenly. Ahh, the smell of the ocean, the sounds of the surf, warm sun, gentle breezes and swaying palms.

I came over from Brenda’s Blog. I’ve never visited before and I had to comment on this post. My husband also has a dream to do some deep-sea fishing. We fish on one of the Great Lakes. Your pictures are really nice and I’ll have to show him.
I’ve enjoyed my visit here and I’ll be back again.

HiRhoda I saw Rick & Bubba on Hannity & Colmes. They were great and I’d vote for them for president in a minute! It was so refreshing to hear someone not afraid to speak the truth. I think hardly anyone knows anymore that this country was founded on Godly principles and the separation was to keep the state out of the church, not the other way around!
Your trip looks like a lor of fun. I missed your posts. Welcome back

I’m enjoying your vacation almost as much as you did…I can almost smell the ocean…there will be cats, I don’t know how I know, (as I brush two off my lap) but there will be! Hubby is having a grand time, Mac would love to be there, too…he hasn’t been deep sea fishing since he did it off a Destroyer Escort!!! Now that was some fishing hon!

I take pictures of my food all the time. I wonder if people think to themselves, “what in the world is that girl doing taking pictures of her food??” I always like to think they just assume I am a food reviewer or something. 🙂 I love food pics!!

beautiful snapshots! and yes, we saw Rick and Bubba on Hannity’s show and wish more in D.C. would take such an honest, practical approach to problems~Rick and Bubba offer good solid advice that’s worked for several thousand years, so why shouldn’t it work now 🙂 maybe they need to run for President as a team.
