This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now. I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU! If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.
Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today. I’ve often wondered who all is reading. You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often. Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂 Then, you come out of the woodwork.
So, today is all about YOU! Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife. If you don’t mind sharing. I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.
OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself. We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.
And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.
Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂 I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school. I will be 53 in December.

Hello Rhoda…not Rhonda!
I am a 35 yr old SAHM of 3 in a small town in northern Iowa. I read you because I absolutely love your decorating style. I cannot seem to remember how I found your blog, probably through another decorating type blog. I’m striving to make my home more beautiful on a shoe-string budget. Aren’t we all?
Looking forward to more of your great pictures and posts!

Hi Rhoda,
My name is Gina and I’m 26. I’ve been married for three years and I live in Denver, CO. Your blog was actually recommended to me by one of your friends, Rhonda. She and I work together here in Denver. She said she got to stay at your house (I believe it was one you were selling) for a while and was telling me how creative you are. Since I’m trying to be creative on a budget, she told me about your blog. You have inspired me to go garage saling, and I can’t tell you how many things I’ve found since then that I just LOVE! Thanks for all the ideas!

I’m Becky and I’m 27. I’m a part-time attorney and I teach ballet. I get to work from home most days which is wonderful!
I read your blog because I’m decorating impaired. For years, my husband and I lived in New Orleans in a rental that was periwinkle, fushia and lime green on the outside! (My favorite was the orange glitter bathroom). To this day, I wish our pics had survived.
Now, everything we have is beige and we’re trying to ease into color. But after the New Orleans house, color isn’t easy for us to pick out! Thank goodness your house is beautiful and you tell us paint colors that work together!

Hi I guess I am a lurker 🙂 My name is Anna and many of my teachers had to be corrected for insisting on calling me Ann. I’m 56 and have been a stay at home mom, antique dealer, ebayer, auctioneer, office worker and caterer. I’m unemployed at the moment but will be keeping my new grandbaby starting next month. I enjoy your blog… keep up the good work.

Hi Rhonda~~~ I mean Rhoda,
Sorry I slipped there for a minute! :^)
I am a mother of two grown kids. One girl, soon to be 29 and a son who just turned 22 in July. I have two grandson’s, one will be 9 this week and the other will soon be a year old.
I am 49 years old, I work for the State of Tn. for the TBI
(Tennessee Bureau of Investigation). I have 26 yrs with the State, just recently moving to the TBI a little over a yr. ago.
I have always worked in crafts, making this or that. I now pittle around with it and I also make jewelry. When I was 40 yrs. old I discovered that I could paint (never to late). I got into oils and recently this year I had my first showing at a gallery.
I have always loved taking photo’s since I was a child, usually family pics. Almost 4 years ago I got my first digital camera (point and shot) and got into taking shots of other things besides people or family. The itch got worse so I purchased a Nikon D40 a little over a year ago for a hobby. This hobby has become a part time job in the last year, I have been hired to shoot two weddings and three high school senior individual outdoor photo’s. I love it!
So there you are Rhode, that pretty much sums me up.
Pam

Hi Rhoda,
I’ve been reading your blog for about six months now and I love it! I especially love your blog entries about Southern food (I love food!), and about your garage sale finds! I haven’t hit the garage sale circut yet but I intend to, someday! I made your chocolate chip cake the other day and my family loved it so thank you for sharing.
I am 36 yrs old and live in Southern California. I am a stay-at-home mom of 2 little ones (a 3yr old son and a 1yr old daughter.)
Kind regards,
Stephanie

Hi Rhoda,
I’m a 40 something stay at home mom and wife who loves to fluff her nest. I’m always thinking about what I want to do next in my house and have more projects in my cue than time to complete them.
I love to cook and we spend a lot of time in the kitchen so I’m always thinking about how to make it more inviting. I also love to thrift store shop and turn trash into treasure. I never find the kinds of things you do at yard sales, though. I wish I did. I love near St Louis and wish we had a flea market, but we don’t.
Over the summer I started repainting much of my house (I had had the same colors for over 10 years and was SO ready for a change) and I was inspired by you and SW Whole Wheat. That became my launching point and I am loving the results. Still working on my window mistreatments inspired by The Nester. Maybe they’ll be done and up this week or next.
I would love to see you do a mini series on accessorizing different styles of tabletops – for example a round side table, a rectangular side table, a square table, a console table, a round coffee table, etc I have an end table next to the sofa in my family room and it’s kind of a rectangle (running the depth of the sofa) and for some reason I can not figure out what to put on it and how to arrange it!
Thanks for your hard work on your blog. I love it!!

Hi Rhonda
I stumbled onto your site about 6 months ago and have been an avid reader ever since. I get so much inspiration from all your crafty ideas and blogs. I live in Minnesota, 36 yrs old, married, 2 children and work as a project coordinator for a construction firm in Minneapolis. My biggest decorating struggle has been convincing my husband that is okay to paint the furniture black. He just doesn’t get it. I don’t think we’ll ever agree. Thanks for all the inspiration….
Regards,
Wendy S.

I can’t even remember how I found you, Rhoda, but I’m glad I did.
I’m 45, married, a homeschooling mom to two teenagers, and a writer/editor/speaker person. I’ve always referred to myself as domestically-challenged, but thanks to you and the Nester I think I might be slowly coming around. I’m in Charlotte, North Carolina, but I come near you quite often to visit my parents in Atlanta.
Thanks for all you do to help people like me!

Hi Rhoda,
I am most definitely a lurker, I absolutely love your blog and come here to visit once a day. I am 44 years old, been married 14 years with a 13 year old son and an 8 year old daughter. We live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada. I was raised in Stone Mountain Georgia, both my parents and one of my brothers still live there. My baby brother lives in Alabama. I met my husband when I came to Canada to get my Library degree.
I am head of public services for the public library here, but my true passion is antiques. My family constantly makes fun of me, because although there are only 4 of us I have 10 iron beds in our home. I am on report now that I have to get rid of some before adding more to my collection. My dream, after retiring is to have my own antiques store.
Thank you so much you inspire me every day to enjoy my life, home and family.

Hi,
I’m Jill, a 39 year old stay at home mom of two great kids. My son is seven and my daughter is 5. I found your blog when I searched for panel moulding ideas for my dining room. You actually gave me the courage to do it and I love the results! Thanks! I live in Chapel Hill NC.

Hi, my name is Peggy I am a 47 year old mother of two children, a daughter who is almost 20 and a son who is almost 18. My husband and I moved our family from Las Vegas, NV to central Tennessee about three and a half years ago. We have been flipping houses and really enjoying life. My husband is starting an engineering firm with a friend that he made here. I will help them in the office and keep the home fires burning. I have learned so much from your blog (I don’t remember how I found it, but I have been reading it for quite a while now) and always look to you for ideas. The biggest thing you have given to me is the courage to try some things on my own. My husband~of almost 25 years~is VERY handy and can do just about anything I dream up, but I never do the big projects myself. Now I tell myself if Rhoda can do this, then I can do this!! I really enjoy your blog and your personality. I know we would be fast friends if we lived by each other. 🙂
