This is my last post from our girl’s weekend in Asheville, but wanted to share more fun shopping spots in that area.
We took a quick stroll through the Tobacco Barn in Asheville once again and it is still a fun place to hang out and browse.
It’s a big warehouse crammed full of STUFF.
This corner white cabinet was a nice find.
This is a quirky way to use an old door, along with some vintage metal chairs.
Plenty of old hardware.
Loved this sweet ottoman. I think it was about $200.
If you are in the market for sets of chairs, you can find plenty here. Those needlepoint beauties were about $600 for the set, I think.
This booth had the best deals, we thought, with everything $99 or less. Spot any you’d like to take home?
Loved this old blue and white cabinet. Wouldn’t this look cute in a kitchen? I didn’t catch the price.
Just down the road from Tobacco Barn, is another antiques row, with several stores.
We enjoyed browsing Oddfellows too.
If you grew up in the 70’s, you just might recognize things in this room. Oh, how 70’s it is! I’m not quite ready to revisit the 70’s, myself. Too many hideous memories for me.
Like these! So, this color is right back in style again, with Pantone’s color of the year, Tangerine Tango. Like I said, I’m not a huge fan of orange, but the old orange of the 70’s would be right back on trend right now. {Me, screaming and covering my eyes!} My sister and I are painting her craft table/chairs orange, but hopefully it won’t scream 70’s and in her space it will be lively.
Now, these seltzer bottles, I could learn to love.
How about an old ship’s head, she is pretty cool.
Kristin really loved this tall orange chair.
Raise your hand if you grew up with an old record player console like this? Yep, we did too. My parents had one of these in our living room, with old albums stacked to one side. I still have fond memories of listening to an old album of Andy Griffith, telling stories. We should have kept that album. It was priceless! One of the best stories, What it Was Was Football. Anyone remember that album??
Another blast from the past, 70’s. Did anyone else’s mom have these? Acrylic grapes on the coffee table. My mom had these and a lady in our church used to make them. I spotted a few of them in Oddfellows. Anyone care to bring these back? Nah, me neither!
This driftwood tree was cute.
Lots of stuff to poke through.
Cow painting, anyone?
How about a concrete horses head? I actually loved him, but he was $125.
This chaise lounge was pretty covered in a sea-inspired fabric. In fact, I spotted fabrics like this at one of our local fabric stores. That’s another post!
Stopping off at Goodwill.
Kristin fell in love with this vintage French sofa and at only $20 would have been another steal. Yet another reason we needed a truck.
We didn’t bring home any large treasures, but we sure had fun on our girl’s weekend, shopping, eating and browsing.
I have the box truck! Who wants to go back???? ROAD TRIP!
I love to go treasure hunting… it is a weekly excursion with a good friend. I just run out of money before I run out of room in the truck. Thanks for sharing <<<<>>>>> What wonderful shopping places! Enjoy the rest of your girls’ weekend.
This looks so fun! I love that driftwood tree – a lot.

I have the Andy Griffith album! 🙂
The tobacco barn is a lot of fun to walk through but I think their stuff is way over priced. Odd-fellows is great, I have found several things there.
Which Goodwill did you go to? Do you remember?
Thanks
Krista
Krista, I think it was Asheville Goodwill. Don’t remember the street, but it was in a strip shopping center.
You could spend days in the Tobacco barn…so much stuff! Looks like you had fun and found some treasures! ♥
What a fun weekend. I do remember the Andy Griffith football sketch, as well as something that included the line, “Buddy, have a drink!”
I hate to say it but I have driven by both of those places so many times and have never stopped in. We went by a couple weeks ago and I told my husband I needed to stop and he said we did not have enough time, lol! Looks like great stuff, and I am in love with the iron base used with the old door for a table. There is a pretty good Goodwill just down the street from there I have been in that had some really good deals.
Wish you could come to our shelter. You are an inspiration!!!

My grandmother had one of the French Provencial sofas (60’s-70’s). It was beautifully upholstered and “respected” when we would visit. My brother and his wife took it and thus began its life in a kids-dogs-bouncing-jumping household. I cringe now to see the present condition. It needs some loving care.
Those orange vases. Too funny, Rhoda! My parents had a very tall one almost exactly like the one you photographed, and another one. And when it was time to disperse of their things, my daughter snapped them up and proudly displays them in her living room. I’m like you, the 70’s are over for me. But my kids love the stuff.
Rhoda, you really found some amazing place to visit! I love the blue and white cabinet and the seltzer bottles! Lots of inspiring pieces! Thanks for sharing your wonderful visit to Asheville!
I am so jealous of all the wonderful places you have to hunt through. We have a few places around here but nothing like yours! I would probably spend way too much if I lived there!
What a fun weekend…and fabulous finds! I have heard the antique shopping in Asheville is amazing, but I have never had the opportunity to visit. I will definitely have to add it to my list. Happy weekend.
Looks like so much fun! Love the chaise lounge with the sea fabric, and the concrete horse head, oh, and the seltzer bottles!
I would love to do a weekend like that with some of my girl friends!
Enjoy your Sunday!

We must be very close to the same age! My mom and dad, as well as my aunts and uncles, had stereos in cabinets, too! It was a big deal when we got ours. It was a Zenith and in a walnut cabinet. The others had Magnavox. Remember those brands? They were THE NAMES in electronics in the ’60s. Mom and Grandma had the glass grapes. Being the one who had dusting to do as a chore, I hated those things! Dust would get in around the “grapes” (: My mother -in – law still has a French Provencial sofa like that. She bought it in 1965 with 2 matching chairs. They have been reupholstered twice. They have always been in her “good” living room…….very well cared for. They still look nice. She has replaced everything else with new in her house in the 35 years I’ve known her but that living room set. I think it has to do more with being sentimental about it than money. I know that it is.
Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. It stings, just a little, when the word “vintage” is used along with my childhood memories, but it is what it is.
I gotta put these on my list so when we go to Asheville next we can make a quick stopover. When Kathysue (Good Life of Design) and Debbie (Confessions of a PLate Addict) met in Asheville, one of the first stops we made was to the Goodwill. LOL I wish we had know about the other places, too.
By the way, I am signed up for the Haven Conference and have made the room reservation too. I am going with Shirley from Housepitality Designs, and soooo hoping Debbie (Confessions) can meet us there since she lives nearby. So looking forward to finally meeting you in person. We are flying in Wednesday afternoon. Its gonna be a great time!
Love that concret horse head… I’m a collector of horse and western style decor. $125 is out of my league; but I love it. Great pictures and happy to be following your blog.
Love your blog. Thankx for all sharing the must stops in Asheville. A friend and I are flying into ATL for a few days and driving to Ashville on a little road trip.
Any must see and do’s in ATL? Favorite thrift shops or just plain wonderful shops that we can’t possibly miss?
Sounds like you have made good work of those lemons! Good for you!
$20 on that sofa?? Yeah, a truck would be great…but dangerous! 🙂
Yep! Went to the antiques shops/barn in Ashville and loved them! Thanks for the memories, and reminding me why I need to drive a truck there! ha!
