Trash Pickup with The Bagster: Everything Including the Kitchen Sink

{Giveaway is Closed!}

The Winner is:  #4, Sheila Fitzgerald.  Congrats, Sheila!

Have you heard about this new thing called The Bagster bag?

I started hearing about it last year, but didn’t get the chance to try it out until now.  Bagster gave me a giftcard to use to buy a bag and for the pickup and with all the junk around my house right now, this really came in handy!

The Bagster is great to use if you have a small project with debris you need to get rid of.  At $29.95 retail for the bag and flat rate collection fee ranges from $79 to $249 per bag, depending on your area (my area is $99), that’s 50 to 70 percent less than a dumpster rental.

The Bagster got rid of that big pile of wood we ripped out of my house, as well as a few other things that we had sitting around.  It was nice to see all of that go. Even though I will still have a lot of junk to remove at the end of my kitchen project, this was a good start to de-junking my new house.  Having all of this hauled off just feels good!

The Bagster $30

The Bagster is sold at most of the home improvement stores, like Home Depot and Lowes, as well as Walmart.  The company that picks it up is Waste Management. The bag comes wrapped like this, very small and unassuming.

The Bagster

Then you unfold it and it grows and grows, to about 4’ x 8’ with sides that can be pulled up higher once the bag is filled.  It was a very easy process and I’d highly recommend The Bagster bag for your smaller home renovation or home cleanup projects.

We got my friend Debbie’s son, Andrew, to come back over and he and my dad got busy stacking in that old wood.  It helped to have 2 people working at it, to make sure every inch was taken advantage of and stacking it straight and flat helped get more in there.

044

In a short time, the bag was filled. It can hold up to 3,300 lbs. so we didn’t completely max it out, just in case the weight might be an issue.

047

Those sides can fold up even more to get the maximum benefit.

filling the Bagster

Here it is all finished and filled and the handles cross over the middle waiting for pickup.  We got lots in there, including the old kitchen sink!  Smile  All I had to do is call Waste Management and they came out in just a couple of days and picked it up and hauled it off.

Easy peasy and no hassle at all!  I would definitely use this product again for similar projects.

Bagster pickup

(not my pickup, but an example of how it’s done)

Quick and easy!  I really like The Bagster and how it works and would definitely use it again for any smaller projects I have around the home.

Some things to know about The Bagster bag:

  • Highly durable, woven bag that can hold up to 3,300 pounds of debris and big enough for full sheets of plywood, doors and even a bathtub (I added a sink!)
  • It’s a great choice for any home improvement project, since many times construction debris can’t be picked up in a regular trash can.
  • Use the bag for as long as you need it and then call Waste Management to pick up the bag.
  • Collection can be scheduled online at www.thebagster.com or by calling 1-877-789-2247, and Waste Management will collect the bag within three business days.

Now for some more great news!  Waste Management is giving away $100 giftcard so that ONE of my readers can try out The Bagster bag too!  Do you have a project you’re working on and need to have your junk hauled away?

Leave a comment on this post telling me what project you might be working on in the near future and how you will use the $$ for The Bagster bag at your house!

Disclosure Statement:

Waste Management partnered with bloggers such as me to participate in its The Bagster® Bag Blogger Challenge. As part of this program, I received compensation to cover the cost of the Bagster bag and pick-up as well as my time. They did not tell me what to purchase or what to say about the products used for the The Bagster® Bag Blogger Challenge. We bought a house with some water damage and this would be great for disposing of the drywall we need to tear out!

What a great idea! We are putting on a new roof after being hit by a terrible storm. The bagger would be put to good use for that project and I might just add some junk from the garage…

I’d have to give this to my daughter, who is building her dream house. They are in the end stages, where you don’t have as much debris, but still have too much for regular trash pickup. The big dumpster they now have is almost full, so this would be perfect timing!

We have plans to completely gut and remodel our only bathroom. This would be perfect for all the junk we’re going to be pulling out of there.

We will be getting our home ready to put on the market in the near future. Getting rid of all that extraneous stuff we have hung on to for years would be perfect for the bagster.

I need to rip up the carpet on my stairs. I discovered I have bullnosed treads underneath that carpet….so I’m excited to redo my staircase which has 2 landings! While I’m at it…I’m going to re-do the upstairs loft. All that carpet needs to go! Perfect timing! Thanks for the chance to try this!

Wow, wish they had this back when we tore out the previous homeowners DIY basement. I’m definitely keeping this in mind for a future project renovation. Rhoda, can’t wait to see you home! Let’s do lunch sometime and stop by your new house so I can see the progress.

We are going to be cleaning out my dad’s boat shop this october and this would be great just to get rid of the general trash. My dad was a bit of a hoarder and now that he is in his 80’s and doesn’t work anymore, my mom and I want to clean it up a bit so we can use part of the space for other things.

We need this for my son’s Eagle scout project. He is tearing out and rebuilding 60 ft. of fenceline for an organization that helps handicapped and elderly families. My son is 16 and needs to secure funding for the pickup. I will have him call the numbers listed when he returns from band camp this afternoon.

I wish that I had known about the Bagster when I had to clean out my late father’s house. (The biggest and worst job of my life.)

Thank you so much for letting us know about this product.

P.S. I don’t know about you, but I want to declutter my house BEFORE I get too old, so that my sweet kiddos don’t have to do it later.
