Treasures for the week

I was going to take a break this week from yardsaling. Really, I was! There was one little sale I checked out at a church on Friday & then I wasn’t going to go to anymore Saturday a.m. But, after going to the gym & running some errands, it was already after 10:30 & I saw a sign…pointing down a neighborhood road. So, I thought why not…I’ll just stop & check it out. Well, of course, I found things I just had to have. There was some really nice things there that I couldn’t pass up. These faux pears & pomegranites were in an iron basket. 8 pears & 3 pomegranites, $5.00 with the basket too.
So, I took the faux fruit out of the basket & left the basket here beneath the livingroom table, added a piece of lace I had stashed & put our wedding & honeymoon photo albums in here. I think it adds a nice little touch. Took the fruit out & put it under the cloche on the DR table. The birdsnest & eggs had been there since Spring, so it was time for something new. These pears look SO real! They are a very nice quality. I was even thinking about lining them up on the fireplace mantel for something different too.
This mirror was a great find at $10.00. It has a sticker on the back from a place called Urban Evolutions in Menasha, Wisconsin. I found them on the web & they sell to the trade only. There’s no telling how much this was originally. They were asking $15 & I got it for $10. It’s made from old tin ceiling tiles. I had to move another gold antique mirror I had in this spot, but this one really adds a lot to this guestroom, so it’s staying.

Picked the globe up at the church yardsale for $1.00. It has a nice old look to it & is probably about 20-25 years old, according to my hubby, who looked to see which countries had changed.
I added it to the top of the entertainment center.
And, one more little bunny, he’s concrete & I’ll find a place for him outside. He was $3.
Just had to show you the continuing blooms of the hibiscus, along with the limelight hydrangeas. They are a beautiful sight when they are all blooming.
Hope you all have a loverly week!

    Rhoda,
I’m telling you, you are the yardsaling queen. You can’t take a break, because if you did you would not have found those wonderful things. I can’t believe how real the fruit looks.
    Love the mirror!

Goodnes, there’s so much to see! Love that ceiling tile mirror – it’s so me! Really like the way the fruit looks under the cloche – those pears really do look like they’re real. The bunny is just so cute and your hibiscus are stunning. Mine flowered and now nothing. Good thing you went yardsaling since you found some wonderful things!

I keep telling myself I will take a break from yardsales each week and seem to keep making my way back to them! Great finds. I rarely find nice things like that! BTW I finally did the meme you tagged me for, but I just realized I forgot to tag other people…

Once again you’ve found some great things Rhoda.

We’re having a garage sale in Sept. Not sure just what date. The kids are coming up to help get things organized, Labor Day weekend. They are putting things in too! We expect to fill the three car garage. Christmas stuff, furniture rugs…you name it!! One day sale.

You and I are alike. I love to change things around a little as the seasons go from one into the other. I’m already planning my autumn wreath.
