What are Your Favorite Ways to Unwind in the Summer?

This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Crystal Light.

BlogHer Reviewer

For the next few weeks, I’m participating in a campaign with BlogHer and Crystal Light and you’ll be hearing from me a few times on staying hydrated in the summer.

What are your favorite ways to unwind in the summer?

For me, it’s getting outside and doing something fun.  I do love to go for walks (even though our humidity makes that SO hard!). But, getting outside is key for me.  I’m sweating already from our heat and humidity, so any chance to cool off is good too.  I just finished my deck space, by sprucing it up for summer chilling and I know that is going to be a favorite go to spot for me now.

Cool beverages are a must during the summer.  Last year, we went to a Birmingham Barons baseball game with our small group from church and that was a lot of fun.  That just screams summer to me.  Baseball and summer just go together.

And just last weekend, my hubby and I attended a local Jazz festival here in our city too and that was a fun time.Summer and outdoor concerts just go together.

How about you?? I’d love to hear!

I love to go to the lake, but these days it feels like we choose to spend our time at the ballparks with our 2 small boys. Still fun stuff!

I enjoy sitting in a big overstuffed chair that belonged to my late “Nanny,” blinds open so the sunshine comes in, cat (Bob) on one side of me, chichuchu (Ziva) on the other side, reading Christian love stories. I have a nice glass of fruity tea from Teavana and lose myself in my book.

I forgot to mention my fruit punch Crystal Light that has become a staple at our house. I dress it up with a “stick” of pineapple or cut a strawberry almost in half and attach it to the glass. Sometimes I do both!

I love Crystal Light we make it by the gallon. It is usually gone in a day. Wish we could buy flavors other than lemonade in bulk. Anyway, Crystal Light on a summer evening around a campfire is one of our favorite ways to kick back and relax.

Summer is all about the BBQs. I love my college friends but as the years pass we have all started moving away. Summertime is when we get together at each others homes for some good times. I am pregnant so no adult drinks for me and water tastes bad. (Don’t get me started) so the crystal light pure packs keep me hydrated all summer long. I love the Kiwi Strawberry.

Summer is a time for family and Friends. Here in our home town we celebrate The Spirit of Attucks
during the 4th of July weekend. Our now closed neighborhood schools (Elementary and High school)
are name for Crispus Attucks, who died during the Revolutionary War. Graduates of the school come back
to Carbondale, IL of the holiday with a grand celebration and several activities in the neighborhood park
by the same name, Attucks Park. These is the largest park in town, yet there are few trees, so lots of
thirst crenching beverages, with water being the best, are available at all times. These celebration is attended
by family and friends, as we bring our new generations of students to show them the true Spirit of Attucks.
