For the next few weeks, I’m participating in a campaign with BlogHer and Crystal Light and you’ll be hearing from me a few times on staying hydrated in the summer.
What are your favorite ways to unwind in the summer?
For me, it’s getting outside and doing something fun. I do love to go for walks (even though our humidity makes that SO hard!). But, getting outside is key for me. I’m sweating already from our heat and humidity, so any chance to cool off is good too. I just finished my deck space, by sprucing it up for summer chilling and I know that is going to be a favorite go to spot for me now.
Cool beverages are a must during the summer. Last year, we went to a Birmingham Barons baseball game with our small group from church and that was a lot of fun. That just screams summer to me. Baseball and summer just go together.
And just last weekend, my hubby and I attended a local Jazz festival here in our city too and that was a fun time.Summer and outdoor concerts just go together.
How about you?? I’d love to hear!

I love something simple as curling up on my couch with a great magazine in hand after the kids are all tucked into bed. Having a nice cup of decaf iced coffee is the icing on the cake!

Oh my favorite thing is to head to the pond, jump in the boat and just fish, fish, fish. You can just relax, kick your feet up, swish in the water, watch all the calm water and trees oving about. You’ll even see a beaver, coon or who knows what kind of varmit. Nothing like being on the pond when the sun comes up or goes down. God is good.

I love unwinding from the school year by spending lots of great time with my son. We love going to the lake, planting a garden, and sleeping outside. We try to soak in every last drop of Summer fun.

Love to sit out on our deck with a freshly brewed ice tea. I enjoy watching the birds at our bird feeders and looking at all the flowers that are blooming. I mentally plan the changes I will make to my flower beds and vegetable gardens for the next season.

My favorite wind down in summer is with a good book and a tall iced tea! (Add a tomato sandwich and I’m in heaven.)

I love your blog. It gives me lots of inspiration. Thanks for sponsoring the Crystal Light giveaway. I like the pink lemonade on a hot day like today to cool me down.

Floating in the pool in the late evening, watching the sky change colors as the sun sets.
My favorite way to stay hydrated? I keep a pitcher of “Arnold Palmer”s mixed in the fridge ALL SUMMER LONG! A traditional Arnold Palmer is simply 1/2 sweet tea and 1/2 lemonade, served over ice. I make mine quick, simple, and only 5 calories per serving by combining a (1) 2 qt packet each of Crystal Light (I swear!) Lemonade and Crystal Light Iced Tea in a 1 gallon pitcher of cold water.
YUM!

My favorite way to unwind in the summer is to travel to the mountains and spend time sitting on the porch. I love to read a good book sitting on the porch swing and listening to the water in the creek nearby. At night you can hear the frogs “talking” to each other while sitting out on the porch. Life is at a much slower pace at our mountain house! Thanks for hosting a wonderful giveaway. Love & blessings from NC!

I love to go to our community pool in the early evening. The crowds are gone and sometimes I have the pool to myself for swimming laps. I go home refreshed and ready for a nice dinner on the deck.

We barbecue almost every weekend and invite family and friends over. It is some hot down here in Baton Rouge though… some cold Crystal Light sure does make it a bit more tolerable! 😉

Swim in the shade (hot days here in the desert), nap between 2-4 sometime when even the evap can’t keep up with it and putter in the garden while the sun goes down.

The beach the beach the beach the beach! 🙂 Did I mention the beach? I am in heaven when I walk down on Saturday mornings in between the house rental changeover… no one is there. My daughter and I enjoy the quiet and slowly go in to the healing salt water. There we float, talk, laugh and relax!

I love to take my dogs for walks through our field in the early morning. They explore while I take photographs.
