Merry Christmas! I’m SO glad you are here. I can’t wait to celebrate with all of you.
Come on in the house and let’s visit a little while. I’ve been waiting for today when all of you would drop by. The arrangement on the front door is new this year. My friend, Cindi, who helped in the Holiday House made some of these to sell and I bought one. Yes, I cheated and didn’t make my own.
Actually, I did add the 2 big pinecones to it and I really love it on the black door. And that’s a new white Welcome done with vinyl on the door too.
On the foyer table, you’ll see the new tree I found at Ballard Designs and it’s really a good looking tree, very happy I got it. I decided to keep it fairly simple here and add my big hurricane lantern, with the tall tree and a few gold and white pieces.
I had all of these gold and white ornaments already and they work great on this prelit tree.
This cute little sparkly white and gold deer has been with me for a few years.
And this is the hurricane lantern I got last year from Linden Street (JC Penney) filled with 3 flameless candles that I got at Michaels. I love these things! They really flicker just like the real ones and create a nice ambiance. I tucked a few fresh cedar greens around the bottom on the silver platter.
A faux wreath hangs on the railing looking up the stairs.
I had to add some Christmas cheer to my antique mirror. Those Merry Christmas letters seemed to fit right in this spot and a couple of mercury glass votives flank the sides, along with some white pinecones I spray painted last year.
I found this cute brown cone at a yardsale
and love to fill it with fake berries and real greens. Those berries look real and I found them last year in Marietta on closeout for about 50 cents a stem. You know I love those bargains. The fresh cedar greens make the look and I cut them from a tree in our nearby woods.

Here we have ye big tree! It’s a 7 1/2 foot prelit fake. I’ve been doing gold and burgandy for many years now and will probably not redo this tree anytime soon. I still love it when it’s all glitzed up. I looked for those urns for fake trees for the last couple of years and haven’t spotted any lately, so I painted this plastic garden urn with some brown metallic paint and will share that with you later. Easy to do!
Here’s the tree topper I did for the Birmingham News and I’ll share how to do that with you too. Another easy project!
I tuck the tree here in this corner by the sofa and it’s a perfect spot to enjoy it.
Been practicing taking some artsy shots with my camera and I love how this came out. Glass balls in a gold box that sits on an end table, with some golden beads draped over them, an easy way to do a table display.
White glittery JOY spells out a greeting above the door to the hallway. This is a piece of wood molding tacked above the doorway that I painted many years ago. I love this piece and it will move with me wherever we go.
My cute nativity scene has been with me for probably 25 years now and I love adding it to this little table in the living room. Burlap comes in handy for a backdrop.
Are you planting any paperwhites this year? I did it last year and had so much fun watching them poke through and grow tall with blooms. I threw my 3 bulbs in the garage last year after Christmas and there they have been sitting. Imagine my surprise, when I picked them up and saw some green shoots already coming out, just waiting to get back in some water, along with a couple of babies.
So, hopefully I’ll be rewarded with those wispy white blooms again in a few weeks.
And my other container of fake paperwhites will stand in until the real ones bloom. I brought out a white yardsale birdbath that I’ve had, adding some red and green balls, real greens and a little fake snow for a wintery effect. I love this!
Another yardsale iron birdbath holds more tiny ornaments and greenery.
And there you have the tree and mantel in the livingroom.
The tree at night, looking back towards the front door.
There is something magical about a Christmas tree.
Moving to the black console table, I loved all this silver last year so much, I did it again. My hubby really likes this table too. One tip I’ve learned is to group like colors together for an instant collection. Most all of this is silvery tones and they all work together.
My favorite iron yardsale urn stands at center and the rest of the silver pieces are the accents. Some is mercury glass, some glittery silver, silver ornaments, all different, but the tones unite them all. Picked up that glittery Merry Christmas at a thriftstore.

I kept the little quail bird on top cause I just think he’s so cute. With the addition of some mercury glass ornaments, the urn fits right in for Christmas too.
That tall piece is actually 2 silver pieces stacked together, both yardsale finds. The tall cone on top is just a silvery Christmas tree glass topper. I’m completely ga-ga over mercury glass these days. Just found those pretty little votives to the left at Old Time Pottery this year, really cheap.
These 2 silver pieces (pedestal and tray) are both yardsale finds and look so pretty at this time of year. I found a whole bag of silver ornaments sometime back at a yardsale too, not sure if they are vintage, but they look to have a little age on them. And all mixed in with the new mercury glass ones, it’s all pretty.
Love the sparkle!
And another yardsale find, this silver candleabra makes another great item to use on this table. I just added a couple of pretty sparkly ornaments on top, with some silver pinecones hanging below and that’s it. You can be sure I’ll add a few more mercury glass pieces to my collection when I find more on sale.
So, that wraps up my house this year! I hope you enjoyed the tour and I can’t wait to see your houses all decked out for Christmas too. Please add your link on, so that we can all come and visit you too.
If you missed the kitchen, diningroom and mantel and would like to see it all, just click on these links for the rest. I’ve been decorating for Christmas like crazy!

Hi Rhoda,
You house looks amazing! Hard to belief you showed only half of it in this post. I linked up with my girly craftroom where I can glitter to my hearts content. Lots of silver and golds in there too.
Take care! Marianne
WOW Rhoda! I couldn’t stop looking! Every square inch of you home is so festive and lucious! I guess I’d better get cracking with only my tree done.
Thanks for hosting!
Donna
Rhoda, everything is perfect and so festive ~ just as I expected! How many other gals are up at 5am looking at Christmas decor on blogs, I wonder!?!? LOL
I think your tree is beautiful and your photography is outstanding, too (the box with ornies and garland draped over it is fantastic!). I think my favorite item today is the tiered display ~ I wanna go yard saleing with YOU!!

Rhoda,
I arrived at your house with an extra cup of virtual Dunkin Donuts coffee, figuring I’d be the first one here. Was I wrong!
I am in awe. This is exquisite. My favorites include your mirror (I have a gigantic antique mirror in my center hall and you gave me some ideas how to dress it up) your to-die-for tree, and I am with your husband, the side table done in silver is stunning. I also admire the Welcome on your front door. I only have one question: What time can you be here to decorate The Fairfield House?!
PS I hit submit before mentioning the iron birdbath and the urn — when you come to NJ bring them with you!
As always Rhoda, your home is perfectly lovely! My hubby and I are sitting in the airport looking at all the beautiful pictures of your Christmas decorations. He is so impressed!
Thank you for hosting such a wonderful party!
Jennifer
Your house is just gorgeous . . . as always! I’ve been reading your blog for a while, and I just enjoy every bit of it! I’ve linked my fairly new blog up to your Home Tour. Thanks for hosting. I can’t wait to check out the other homes on the tour.
Happy Holidays!
Carla
You have such a beautiful home!!!

All absolutely gorgeous Rhoda! I love your door and the new tree in the entry is so pretty!
Thanks so much for hosting!
I just do not know where to start. It is all so lovely that it takes my breath away. I am just in awe. I want to go back and look some more to take it all in. I love the silver, of course I do, because that’s what I like to decorate with. You are so talented and have such exquisite taste.
hugs~Sissie
Hi Rhoda,
You’re house really is all decked out! Love the new foyer arrangement. Absolutely everything looks just stunning – like pages from “Traditional Home” magazine!
Thanks so much for hosting a Christmas Linky Party. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s decorations!
Manuela
Your decorations are gorgeous, thanks for sharing.
Rhoda,
It all is so gorgeous. I love the pine cones on the front door and the bowl of “glitz” on the end table and your trees are so pretty. Each piece is extra special.
Thanks for sharing your home with all of us.

Good morning Rhoda
Your home looks gorgeous all gussied up for Christmas! I’m in love with your two birdbaths and am going to keep an eye out for one to have in our house too. I love the addition of the pine cones in the door swag and the table filled with silver loveliness is perfection. I love it all sweet friend
(((hugs)))

Beautiful! I didn’t get around to planting paperwhites, maybe I still have time to enjoy them in later winter.
Thanks so much for hosting!

Don’t think I’m doing this correctly cause I’m having to add mine with 3 separate entries.
Your home is gorgeous, of course! And yes, I will be by on Monday. I’ll email you later with plans.

Hi Rhoada,
I’ll be back this evening after work to see your beautiful home and the others.

absolutely gorgeous~I’m so glad that I came by today!

You never cease to amaze me, Rhoda. Your Christmas decorations are just GORgeous!! Thanks for hosting this fun party. Can’t wait to see what everyone else has to share.
Good morning, Rhoda! Your home is simply FABULOUS!!! The only word I can think of.
Thanks so much for hosting. I wasn’t able to get pictures of all of my rooms in time, so I chose to focus on one ornament today and have some fun with it.
Thanks again…you always throw wonderful blog parties!
You have been one busy Christmas elf…and it shows!
First, everything is just beautiful!
I really love what you did on the console table – the silver, mercury glass, that wonderful urn! Be still my heart!
And, I also adore the rusty white bird bath filled with reindeer moss, and the little ornaments.
And, the paperwhites sprouting one year later is just wild!
The lime and red is a real favorite too.
Thanks for much for sharing your beautiful holiday house and for hosting another great party!
Rhonda
What a lovely home you have Rhoda! Your Christmas decor is beautiful. I really like the idea of putting the burlap under the nativity scene. Thanks for hosting the party!! Merry, merry Christmas to you and yours…
Oh your home is so BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Your decorations and tree are absolutely fantastic. I can’t believe what neat things you found at yard sales, etc and how you put them all together.
Elegant and dramatic! Thanks for sharing your fabulous ideas all season and sharing your home now. I particularly love that you show how a warm burgundy and gold tree can happily coexist with silver mercury glass. So many people think you shouldn’t mix gold and silver, yet you manage it flawlessly.
Thanks for hosting the Home Tour – it’s always fun to browse through others’ homes without leaving mine!
Everything looks lovely. I am sure you spends hours decorating. But it is worth it as it all looks gorgeous.
Rhoda, your home is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much for inviting us in to enjoy the beautiful eye candy. That lime and red kitchen is my absolute favorite!
When the season is over will you do a post about how and where you store all your goodies? I often wonder where you put all this stuff when you aren’t using it. I only have a fraction of what you have and it already takes up more than six plastic tubs in my basement.
Love your bulbs Rhoda!
Thank-you for hosting the beautiful party! Happy Holidays sweetheart!
What beautiful decorations you have Rhoda! Thanks so much for hosting!!
Just dropping by to see your decorations, and my but you are decked to the nines! That’s a mighty fancy tree and topper you did, Rhoda, and I like how you put it in an urn. Neat! I also love that iron birdbath with the ornies and moss in it. You just look so Christmasy at your house, and I haven’t done the first thing here. LOL! I’m sorry to miss your party, but things just kind of went south with some unexpected work we are having done. I will get something done before Christmas. I have to because I am having company for lunch that day!
Love you…
XO,
Sheila
Your home is just stunning, Rhoda! I loved everything that you did. I especially loved the vintage silver ornaments mixed with the mercury glass in the silver tray – sure wish I could find one of those at a yard sale! Thank you for hosting this great party.
Happy Holidays,
Andrea
Rhoda Your HOME IS STUNNING… JUST LIKE your decor. I love your lamp on your table right as you come in from your front door, to see that table, lamp and tree, what a treat. I love YOUR gold brown very full tree, and mantel ALL OF IT… Your sisters holiday home is stunning too, my goodness you both must have a blast decorating and shopping and giving eachother input. Sisters are the best!
Rhoda, Your Christmas decor is beautiful! So elegant. I will have to go back for a second look at everything.
Thanks for hosting the party!
Blessings,
Donna
Rhoda, all your decorations are beautiful as usual! Thanks for allowing me to share mine! Merry Christmas!
Rhoda, all your decorations are just beautiful! I love your tree topper! It’s just breathtakingly beautiful.
I linked up {twice by accident}. The first link up was with “Frog Phobia” attached to my name. I am unsure of why it added that when all I put in was my blog title. This was the last title that I did use for a Mr.Linky, maybe that had something to do with it. I have no idea. But none the less if you want to remove that one, I totally understand. If not that is ok too. They both link to the same Christmas tour post.
Absolutely beautiful! Everything looks so elegant and artfully done. Makes me just want to come sit in your home and inhale Christmas.
Hi Rhoda!
wow…your Christmas Decor is gorgeous!! I especilly love the tarnished silver pieces embellished with ornaments!! i too love mercury glass and i’ve been experimenting with different craft techniques to get that look (not quite there yet, but close). thanks so much for hosting the fun party!
Happy Holidays!
erin
Your house is beautiful. Thank you for sharing!! Absolutely love the mercury glass…what gorgeous sparkle!!
Your front door looks great, Rhoda! What a nice welcoming entrance. I did a swag on my front door as well this year, rather than a wreath {nice to change things up every once in awhile}. Love the burlap with the nativity ~ that fits in great! I love all your containers filled with bulbs and beads; the silver display is just lovely. Great idea having all these containers on hand ~ they certainly come in handy and make it easy to decorate. Looking forward to seeing how to make that topper!
Rhoda,
You outdid yourself Girl….fabulous!
My decorating this year is minimal due to no one being home!
Blessings Friend!

Wow it all looks so nice.
I absolutely love your foyer table. So elegant!!
If you’re a fan of mercury glass, you should have a look at the post I just did on my blog last night! I have noticed that it is all the rage lately.

Merry Christmas!
Rhoda, as always, a beautiful job.
I thought you had photoshopped the “welcome” on your door. Pretty cool that it’s a vinyl cling!
I think I may have to borrow the idea of the frame around the decor above your antique mirror. Pretty!
Have a fabulous Christmas, Dear!
Rhoda,
OMG, your house looks so beautiful. You really went all out this year and I’m so glad you did and that you are sharing it with us. Hopefully before the day is over I will get my camera out and join in the party.

Thank you so much for doing this exciting and festive party!
Your holiday decor is just stunning and very warm and tasteful.
Oh my post is lame….but I tried!!!!! Merry Christmas!
Rhoda, your house looks amazing all decked out for Christmas. All of your mercury glass is so pretty. I saw some pretty pink mercury glass trees a few weeks ago at Home Goods and I’m so upset I passed on them. Too bad the nearest store is nearly 2 hours away from me!
I enjoyed joining in your Home for the Holiday Tour. I linked my dining room to your blog, but since I linked up, I’ve also posted my living room decorated for Christmas on my blog. I’d love for you to take a look to see what inspiration I got from your Holiday House posts. Also, this weekend, my mother, sister, and I are trying our hand at the candy cones you showed a couple weeks ago. I’ll be posting about that too (if they turn out good)! Thanks for all of your inspiration. I love visiting your blog!
Such lovely decor! Thanks for hosting this event!
Thoughts: I need to go to the yard sales you go to!
I would like to get some paperwhites … pretty!
I love the burlap as a backdrop for the nativity.
