Bridal Shower Brunch Ideas

My sister and niece recently hosted a bridal shower for Lauren’s maid of honor, Becky.  Becky is getting married soon and so they hosted the shower at my sister’s house.  My sister is the queen of throwing parties and does a table up just right.  When I saw how it was all decorated, I wanted to share it with all of you, since I know setting tables is an art and very inspirational when you see what can be done to make a table extra special.

She  has a huge round table in her dining room with a burlap and fringe table cloth from Ballards, so everything was layered on top of that.  It helps in a dining room to remove all the chairs when you are doing a buffet, but you already knew that part, right?

She uses boxes and books underneath to create risers, which gives the table dimension.  Sections are higher than others and this makes the table very interesting to look at, so keep that in mind when you are setting up a party table.

Becky’s colors are hot pink, so they kept that in mind for the shower, using hot pink and white chevron napkins and a hot pink crushed velvet fabric draped on the table.  Adding fresh flowers is always a plus and these deep pink roses make  great accent on the table.

She borrowed some decor in the potted topiaries, which add a lot of height to the table.  Candles and white cherubs are also beautiful for the centerpiece.  Quiche is a good offering for brunch menus.  She got the quiche and scones at a local place, Vineyard Cafe in Marietta and the rest she made. bridal showerIMG_4158_20150818

Using small picture frames and adding the menu offerings is a nice touch too, with spinach salad as one of them.

Ambrosia salad in cute glasses make a special presentation. That’s coconut on top.

Scones and muffins with toppings to go with them.

Scones from Vineyard Cafe.

Lemon Curd is a topping.

Thee are spinach sausage balls, I think.  You can see the different heights in the table here.

Setting up plates and napkins in front lets guests help themselves to the entire table.

Bacon quiche.

Another look at the ambrosia cups and that cute leaf that holds a fresh rose.bridal showerIMG_4161_20150818

This is a little flower frog that just holds a single stem.  So cute!

On another table, the beverage station holds Champagne punch and Coffee punch, which I’ll share with you.  The cake was bought at a local bakery in Atlanta and brought to the party by someone else.

I had a sample of it and it was delicious with butter cream icing.  And it’s so pretty with all that swirly pink icing.

Here’s the coffee punch recipe:

COFFEE PUNCH

The coffee punch (taste as you go):
We used a small container of store bought cold drip coffee, vanilla flavor. It is a concentrate. (18 serving size/ Cool Brew).
2 large half n half (not sure the ounces on this, but you’ve seen the large ones)
1 gallon vanilla ice cream
Add at least 1 cup of milk and 1 to 2 cups of water.
The best part….. Hershey syrup …. Squeeze a lot, taste, add more if you want a more mocha flavor.
This made a large punch bowl full.
Enjoy!

Beautiful flowers add such a nice touch to a beverage table.

Here’s a post I did a few years on a baby shower table my sister hosted and you can see a bit of how she uses lifts of boxes and books under her tablecloths to make the table more interesting.  There’s Lauren and Parker in the background.

Lauren looked so cute, I wanted to show a picture of her on this trip.  This dress is from J. Crew and you can see she got a stylish new short haircut.

It really looks good on her and I think she was tired of having her hair yanked on by Parker.

Here’s a look at her hair from all sides, for those who wanted to see more.  It’s a really cute cut on her.

She’s got a bobby pin in this pic, I think to help keep it in place.

We loved having them home for a few days.  This girl is growing up so fast and is now 18 mos. old.

I got a chance to spend some time with her and 2 days in a row, she fell asleep on me.  Nothing better than that!

We took her out to the garden one afternoon and let her walk around with granddaddy.  Of course, he loves it.

Mom got to read some books with her.  She’s really into books now, which won’t be a surprise, since all of us girls love to read.

Just wanted to share the bridal shower with y’all and show you a few recent pics of the family.  Thank you as always for stopping by!

    Hey friend,
Please tell Lauren how much I love her new hair cut. It really suits her and I remember changing my hair back in the day when I became a working mommy. Love the presentation and taking notes for any future events! Thanks for the ongoing inspiration your blog continues to offer all who stop by!

Just lovely – what a lucky girl Becky was! May I ask what type of ambrosia you served? I’m only familiar with the whipped cream-based ones which doesn’t lend itself to the beautiful pink color of your pics. Your sister’s appears to be jello-based? maybe?

By the way, I too love Lauren’s new haircut; course, that girl is beautiful no matter her hairstyle! And that Parker – so stinkin’ cute!
