My sister and niece recently hosted a bridal shower for Lauren’s maid of honor, Becky. Â Becky is getting married soon and so they hosted the shower at my sister’s house. Â My sister is the queen of throwing parties and does a table up just right. Â When I saw how it was all decorated, I wanted to share it with all of you, since I know setting tables is an art and very inspirational when you see what can be done to make a table extra special.
She  has a huge round table in her dining room with a burlap and fringe table cloth from Ballards, so everything was layered on top of that.  It helps in a dining room to remove all the chairs when you are doing a buffet, but you already knew that part, right?
She uses boxes and books underneath to create risers, which gives the table dimension. Â Sections are higher than others and this makes the table very interesting to look at, so keep that in mind when you are setting up a party table.
Becky’s colors are hot pink, so they kept that in mind for the shower, using hot pink and white chevron napkins and a hot pink crushed velvet fabric draped on the table.  Adding fresh flowers is always a plus and these deep pink roses make  great accent on the table.
She borrowed some decor in the potted topiaries, which add a lot of height to the table. Â Candles and white cherubs are also beautiful for the centerpiece. Â Quiche is a good offering for brunch menus. Â She got the quiche and scones at a local place, Vineyard Cafe in Marietta and the rest she made.Â
Using small picture frames and adding the menu offerings is a nice touch too, with spinach salad as one of them.
Ambrosia salad in cute glasses make a special presentation. That’s coconut on top.
Scones and muffins with toppings to go with them.
Scones from Vineyard Cafe.
Lemon Curd is a topping.
Thee are spinach sausage balls, I think. Â You can see the different heights in the table here.
Setting up plates and napkins in front lets guests help themselves to the entire table.
Bacon quiche.
Another look at the ambrosia cups and that cute leaf that holds a fresh rose.
This is a little flower frog that just holds a single stem. Â So cute!
On another table, the beverage station holds Champagne punch and Coffee punch, which I’ll share with you. Â The cake was bought at a local bakery in Atlanta and brought to the party by someone else.
I had a sample of it and it was delicious with butter cream icing. Â And it’s so pretty with all that swirly pink icing.
Here’s the coffee punch recipe:
COFFEE PUNCH
The coffee punch (taste as you go):
We used a small container of store bought cold drip coffee, vanilla flavor. It is a concentrate. (18 serving size/ Cool Brew).
2 large half n half (not sure the ounces on this, but you’ve seen the large ones)
1 gallon vanilla ice cream
Add at least 1 cup of milk and 1 to 2 cups of water.
The best part….. Hershey syrup …. Squeeze a lot, taste, add more if you want a more mocha flavor.
This made a large punch bowl full.
Enjoy!
Beautiful flowers add such a nice touch to a beverage table.
Here’s a post I did a few years on a baby shower table my sister hosted and you can see a bit of how she uses lifts of boxes and books under her tablecloths to make the table more interesting. Â There’s Lauren and Parker in the background.
Lauren looked so cute, I wanted to show a picture of her on this trip. Â This dress is from J. Crew and you can see she got a stylish new short haircut.
It really looks good on her and I think she was tired of having her hair yanked on by Parker.
Here’s a look at her hair from all sides, for those who wanted to see more. Â It’s a really cute cut on her.
She’s got a bobby pin in this pic, I think to help keep it in place.
We loved having them home for a few days. Â This girl is growing up so fast and is now 18 mos. old.
I got a chance to spend some time with her and 2 days in a row, she fell asleep on me. Â Nothing better than that!
We took her out to the garden one afternoon and let her walk around with granddaddy. Â Of course, he loves it.
Mom got to read some books with her. Â She’s really into books now, which won’t be a surprise, since all of us girls love to read.
Just wanted to share the bridal shower with y’all and show you a few recent pics of the family. Â Thank you as always for stopping by!
Rhoda,
You know that I love bridal showers. Renee did a marvelous job. That cake, I wish that I had a piece of it this morning. Lauren looks beautiful as usual. Your Mother and Daddy with that baby, so precious.
Thanks for sharing.
Judy
as always so sweet to see your family. super cute hair cute, it looks great on Lauren. hope you are doing well!
What a beautiful table setting. I love the hot pink as a wedding color choice. So girly. I’m hosting a wedding shower for my niece in February and her colors are black and gold. I’m going to have a bit of a challenge with those colors so I may just step outside the box and throw a little hot pink in just for fun. Love the sassy hair cut on Lauren and that little lulu (Parker) is so adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a beautiful party your sister throws! She is very talented!
Tell me about that mat that looks like boxwood? The one under the punches. So neat!
It’s faux greens, not sure where it came from, my sister borrowed. I think it was ordered online and it comes in squares.
Beautiful tablescape — love the little frames — I’m going to use some of these great ideas!
Everything is so pretty!! You need to feature your sister’s house on Friday sometime.
Any way you could show us the back of Lauren’s new haircut. I would love to have that same hair cut, but curious about the back. Is all one length? layers? how many? Stacked? does the cut hug her head?
That little luv-bug is too much. That is a precious age.
Becky, see the new pics I just added from today.
Beautiful!
Can you tell me where your sister got the three tier holding the scones. I have looked everywhere.
Thanks
Farris
Farris, that 3 tiered serving tray is mine. I traded it several years ago with someone who was a thrifter and she had picked it up somewhere. I loved it and traded her something I had for it, so I have no idea where it originally came from. It’s a treasure for sure!
Thanks Rhonda. I will keep searching!
What a beautiful presentation and gave me ideas for my own daughter’s shower next spring. Love how she served teh ambrosia salad. All those glasses reminds me of the trips we have taken to local thrift stores these past few months to gather together 120 different champagne glasses my daughter wants for her champagne toast at the wedding…will make for a beautiful and intersting table setting, dont you agree? Bigest problem is where to store all those glasses until the wedding!!
Diane, what a great idea though, so fun and unique.
The pictures of Parker with your parents are so very special. What a lucky little girl!
Wow Rhoda — Please tell Lauren that her new haircut is absolutely DARLING!!!! Wish I could pull off a cut like that . . . .
WOW, your sister did a great job? So beautiful!
Wow! Every pic here a treasure to see! Lots of great entertaining ideas; your sister really does have a talent for putting together an awesome presentation. Loved seeing Lauren and Parker both. Lauren could easily pass for your daughter. I’m sure you both must hear that a lot.
Janet, we do hear that a lot!
Would love the recipe for the scones. Thx. Beautiful shower.
