{Giveaway is Closed}

The winner is:  #94, Lisa Appell!  Congrats, Lisa!

Some things come in small packages and that is the case with a brand new book!

Country Living Little Book of Big Decorating Ideas

I love getting the chance to review these décor books up close and personal and this one is so tiny and cute.  A little square book packed with decorating ideas!  What fun.

The tag line is 287 clever tips, tricks and solutions and they are right.  Each page is numbered with a great idea for decorating, from quirky, to found objects and recyling, there’s an idea for every design enthusiast.

Country Living Big decorating ideas

It’s tiny and square, about 6” square.  From the editors of Country Living, one of our fave magazines, you’ll find tips on hundreds of ideas to tap into your home’s full potential.

Country Living book 2

Pages 68 and 69:  Bathroom ideas and fireplace plans.

Country Living 3

Pages 99 and 100: Birdcages and quirky clothes pins.

Country Living 4

Pages 117 and 118:  Painted stairs and upholstery ideas.

Country Living 5

Pages 216 and 217:  Color ideas for the living room and bedroom.

Country Living 6

Pages 240 and 241:  Framed art and gallery walls.

Country Living 7

And the outdoor areas even got in the book, Pages 230 and 231:  Outdoor planting and fence ideas.

It really is packed with some great pics and you’ll enjoy thumbing through this one. I love adding great décor books to my growing collection for those times that I just want to unplug and sit on the porch with a pretty book in hand.  I don’t always want to be in front of my computer, do you? Winking smile

ONE very lucky reader is also going to get a chance to add Country Living’s Little Book of BIG Decorating Ideas to your collection too!  All you have to do is leave a comment telling me why you love décor books and how much you’ll enjoy this one.

I’ll pick a random winner in a few days!  That’s it!

I love going through these mags/books even years later. I can also see something that I can update or change. I have tried to keep up with some of these new styles, but for the most part we love the carefree and laid back country style. You know, kick your shoes off, prop your feet up, plop in the chair style…Love your site, and I would love this book.

I love to get lost in a decorator book, soak in every picture and imagine what I could do in my home. Then I’ll place it on a table, just in case someone else might like to look at it. I enjoy your blog!

I’ve been looking at decorating books for year, and we are finally putting an addition on our house so I really need ideas now. I’ve been perusing all of my decorating books and magazines and would love a new one.

My mom wasn’t a decorator…. she was a wonderful cook and loved me very much, but her idea of decor was nailing an electric clock to the wall. I’m trying to do more in my home. I use blogs, magazines (and books!) to give me inspiration for pretty home decor. Thanks!

I love decorating but am afraid of it all the same! So, decorating books with lots of photos help me overcome and do!

Decorating books are food for the creative soul. After many years of searhcing to find my “creative self”, I finally found it! And leafing through decorating books, blogs, magazines and the like helped me to find it. It is a real blessing to find one’s creative soul.

I’ve loved decorating books forever – belonging to book clubs and stocking up on them at the yearly Meredith Publishing’s Book Sale. It was a sad day when that sale was discontinued. Perhaps Amazon gets their bargains nowadays? It’s wonderful to have so much information available on the web but there is still nothing like sitting down with a cup of coffee in the morning and flipping through the pages of a book filled with new ideas for decorating.

I keep decorating books & magazines all through my house. I love to relax with them & I especially love finding ideas I can copy in my own decor – especially when I’m stuck on what to do with something. I sure would love to win this one!

One of my favorite things about books and magazines is seeing how colors can work together. You don’t have to paint walls and buy fabric to see if something works.
I can really use this too as I’ve begun a new house hunt. Not sure what I’ll end up with, but a bit different from what I have now.

I love decorating books because I look at them over and over. Even the smallest detail may be just the thing needed to finish a room. That little hidden surprise. Or the wow piece that changes the feel of the entire space. And since our rooms are always evolving, the details also change. Fun!

After retiring from nursing after 36 years of service, I now have more time to devote to my number one passion, decorating books and design! I love redoing and refurbishing and do a lot for friends and colleagues as well as strangers. It is my number one passion and I am the happiest when I am up to my elbows in paint, wallpaper and old furniture that needs to be rehabbed!! I would love to win the Country Living Decorating book! My heart would sing with joy and so would I! It would get my creative juices flowing and my mind racing!
Rhoda, you are my kind of girl, and I would love to meet you someday! You are just amazing and so is your blog! I can’t wait each day to read your posts!!

Decorating books turn on my creative juices. There are so many ways to interpret and borrow good designs for your own projects. I appreciate the wisdom and beauty that comes from a well written artistically designed decorating book.
