How are you sleeping lately?
Sleeping is a really good thing for the body and I am one who appreciates a great night’s sleep, aren’t you? There’s nothing worse than being uncomfortable and tossing and turning at night. I’ve had nights like that, but luckily they are fewer and fewer these days. I can honestly say now after sleeping on a memory foam bed for a few months, that I really do love the feel of memory foam. So when Essentia contacted me about using and reviewing one of their memory foam pillows, I said, sure let’s give it a shot.
I chose the Ergonomic pillow to try out, since I’m a side sleeper for the most part and this one is designed for back or side sleepers. These pillows give the ultimate neck support and that seems to be a good thing too. I was used to a down/feather pillow, which sort of squishes down and takes on your head shape. I have always like a feather pillow because they can move and form to the way you hold the pillow, but they can be big too and get in the way.
When I got in the Ergonomic, it is smallish compared to my big fat feather pillow, but I immediately liked the way it conformed to my neck and head, with my head resting in the groove that makes it a bit of a different shape. And I suppose that is what makes it comfortable. I do like the way that memory foam sort of sinks in and just helps you relax, the same way a memory foam bed does with your body. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about memory foam, but after sleeping on the mattress for a few months and now using the memory foam pillow, I’m pretty sold on the whole concept.
So, how does Essentia differ from other memory foam products?
- They make the only natural memory foam mattresses in the world (like Tempur-Pedic, but natural)
- Made in Canada, but you can find stores in the US too
- Natural foam = breathable
- Seen on Dr. Oz, Rachel Ray, and Anderson Cooper (www.myessentia.com/media)
- All other memory foams are made from petroleum based chemicals
You can check out all the pillows at Essentia.

I sleep on a cheap-o J.C. Penney pillow. Don’t like it at all and usually put a folded up towel under it. These pillows might work. Please enter me. Thank you!

I swear I’ve been looking for a comfortable pillow for a year! I had been using my mom’s old pillow. Emphasis on old. It started getting to me just how old it was and what might be growing inside. Ugh! Anyway, most pillows are just too thick for me. I sleep every which way — on my back, either side, stomach — and need a thinner pillow. Right now I’m using a pillow I bought at IKEA. It’s better than a few others I’ve tried, but still not perfect. I’m thinking that pillow that’s pictures in your post might work for me.

I have a similar latex pillow, and swear by them. However I would love to try the natural latex because it is so much better for the environment and the folks who live in it!

Hi Rhoda!
Love, love, love this opportunity. I “sleep” on two pillows to keep my head elevated and am constantly repositioning and fluffing my pillows. The top pillow is a down alternative and I have scars frm being jabbed with feather shafts. I would LOVE to win one of these.

I would love to try the Comfort Pillow — maybe it would help me sleep more than 3 hours per night! Thank you for the opportunity!

I sleep on a traditional shaped memory foam pillow. I would love to try this pillow because it’s all natural and better quality than mine. I’ve tried the tempurpedic contour pillow but didn’t like the shape and was too flat.

I sleep on a typical poly pillow. I have been unable to find the “perfect” sleeping pillow. So, I would love to give a memory foam pillow a try. 🙂

I presently sleep on a TempurPedic contour pillow designed for back sleepers. However, I sleep on my side now so I have added a flattish down pillow on top for a little more height and support. I would be very interested in trying this one, especially because it is made of natural materials.

I use a goose down pillow now, but am not happy with it and would love to try the Essentia Memory Foam pillow. I have heard wonderful things about memory foam pillows.
