During my long blogging career, I’ve met so many wonderful and talented ladies and today I’m sharing a new book from my friend, Courtney Allison with French Country Cottage. Courtney and I met years ago and have been on 2 or 3 brand events together. She’s such a talented photographer and has had a long successful venture in this online world. We don’t all go on events as much as we used to, but I treasure the memories of all the ones I’ve been a part of.
There’s a giveaway below too, so keep reading!
In 2017, I had the pleasure of visiting Moss Mountain in Arkansas with Courtney (on the right) and Kelly. We had such a good time during that trip and hung out together a lot. Since that time, Courtney has written 2 books about her French Country cottage and I have all of them.
The newest book from author Courtney is French Country Cottage Christmas, a beautifully photographed design book dedicated entirely to the magic of Christmas. We need more of this, don’t you think? This gorgeous hard cover book is a great addition to any design library. It’s definitely a coffee table styling book and I’ll have mine out for Christmas.
If you love a vintage look for Christmas, you’ll especially love Courtney’s style as she is the queen of vintage style decorating and styling. From sparkle and shine, to trees, entertaining, decorating with natural elements, outdoors Christmas cheer, and traveling abroad for Christmas, this book is bursting with beautiful pictures all taken by Courtney herself.
Courtney’s attention to detail has no match when it comes to capturing such beauty and the sparkle shiny moments of Christmas celebrating.
She’s got so many elements covered like this beautiful table setting and spread, a feast for the eyes in the Away for Christmas section.
There’s plenty of blue and white for all of us blue and white lovers, with gorgeous Christmas decorations.
Layers and a vintage patina are trademarks of Courtney’s style and it’s beautiful, don’t you think?
Touches of Christmas in a vintage kitchen are so appealing.
This tiny tree in a metal container is anything but boring with those tiny delicate glass orbs.
Of course, there are plenty of Christmas trees to be inspired by as well. From reds, to neutrals and so many more.
This one is covered in dried hydrangeas and it’s just absolutely stunning. Courtney’s vintage cottage is a perfect backdrop for her stylish photoshoots and it really shines in the photos. Courtney makes you feel like you’re traveling to Europe, whenever I see her romantic photos, that’s how I feel. Transported back in time to another era with beauty and sparkle along the way.
I hope you’ll check out Courtney’s new book, French Country Cottage Christmas. I’ve got exciting news for you today too. Thank you for the sneak peek of this lovely inspiring book. Looking forward to devouring all the ideas and pictures.
Vintage Christmas is my dream look.
The element of surprise. When unpacking our Christmas decorations. Forgotten things that have so much meaning and are dear to.My heart
My favorite thing about Christmas decorating is the joy it brings into my home. And the memories relived as we hang ornaments from past years onto our tree.
My favorite part of decorating is incorporating lights wherever possible. I love the warmth and sparkle that they bring. Thanks for sharing this book. Such inspiring ideas!
Rhoda, thank you for sharing this exciting give away and to Courtney in making this so. I find Christmas a time for reflection for how the year has been, friends/family who have passed, and the memories the ornaments bring as they’re removed from their careful packaging and where they’ll reside on the tree! I also look forward to hearing my favorite holiday CDs whether they are instrumental or in song……..
I love seeing my granddaughters’ reactions to my Christmas decor! Even though they’re all three under the age of 4, they get so excited when they see what Grammaw has used for decorations. Last year I bought inflatable Mickey and Minnie Mouse to flank my condo front door and they LOVED those. And I added a battery operated train on my kitchen island which was a fun surprise! We have great memories of those special times together!
Thank you for all the ideas you’ve given us through your posts on instagram and in your blog!
Christmas is a time for remembering and giving thanks – in decor, songs, foods, traditions – all the things that make us who we are and tell our story.
I love unwrapping ornaments from places we’ve traveled. Also, I enjoy purchasing ornaments that are reflective of each family member. Our trees are like scrapbooks and hold many memories. It’s a joy to see how it comes together each year.
What beautiful pictures!!! Christmas is sharing love, meals, and your faith and kindness to everyone. Decorating your home festively brings smiles and joy. I love seeing past treasures and the memories they bring every year.
My favorite thing about decorating for Christmas is reminiscing about Christmases past and incorporating sentimental family ornaments and decorations with new ones.
Courtney’s French Country Cottage Christmas looks beautiful, and like you said her photography skills are outstanding. I absolutely love decorating for Christmas! My mother-in-law’s nativity (that she purchased from Avon!) is always on the antique chest in our foyer. And the few ornaments I have from my sweet mother are delicately used in my centerpiece (she had a house fire late in life and we were only able to salvage a few ornaments from her attic). Those ornaments are so special to me that I would never risk hanging them on my tree for fear that they may fall. And of course, all of the ornaments my children made while they were young are so special and I still use them, even though my youngest is 38! I even bring out the worst ever picture of my three children with Santa, the oldest with missing teeth and having trouble smiling, the middle mid-sneeze, and my baby crying. They moan and groan about it every year!
So, all of this is to say, the walk down memory lane is what is so special about Christmas decorating for me. The memories of big family gatherings that were just outrageous, all of the kids playing, some of the adults arguing, the Christmas blessing for our meals, my sweet babies anticipating Santa Claus, my parents and in-laws still present in our lives.
Thank you, Rhoda, for this opportunity for a few pre-Christmas happy tears.
What a lovely post. I am so excited to begin thinking of Christmas decorating and this book will be so inspiring!
My favorite thing about decorating for Christmas, whether a little or a lot. Is the anticipation of Christmas morning and the special gift of joy that always comes with that day!
My favorite thing is putting up my magical tree! I love to sit in the dark in the early mornings before anyone else is awake & just soak it all in! I can’t wait!
I love everything about Christmas. I could leave it up all year if my husband would let me.
What beautiful decorations and photography! I love the festive, colorful feeling when the house is decorated for Christmas. I’d love to gather new ideas from her book. She is certainly creative. Thank you for all you share with your readers.
Wow! Looks beautiful! Definitely gets you in the Christmas Spirit right? Just beautiful!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful new Christmas book! I love everything Christmas….the music, the smells, the glitter and lights, the decorations, the food and spending time with family. And most importantly, celebrating the birth of our Savior!
I love sitting by the fire and enjoying the beauty and sparkle after the decorations are in place.
Beautiful book! I love decorating for Christmas because I enjoy going through all the memories of past Christmases. Also seeing my grandsons eyes light up when they see the house all decorated is so special.
My favorite thing about decorating for Christmas is bringing traditions and decorations from two different generations to one magical display! I know we have made the magic when my grandsons ( 12 & 10)come home from school and they are speechless and in awe of what they see! Magic! A true gift from God 😊
