I know you all enjoyed seeing that beautiful Home for the Holidays showhouse last week, didn’t you? If you missed Part 1, just click on the link. I loved touring the home, even though it’s a huge mansion that is not even realistic for most folks. It’s just fun to see all the new furnishings and how designers put things together. Always inspiring for me!
There are lots more pics of the house, so I’m getting them all in this post, so you can see all of the house, all 7K s.f. from what I heard.
Warning, this is a photo heavy post, so it’s probably going to bog down your computer, but hang in there and they should all load eventually. I tried to only show the best pics, but there were so many details, I wanted to get them all in. Again, I’m not going to try to narrate every pic, but enjoy the pretty Christmas home!
My friend, Steve McKenzie did this whole outdoor back porch patio area and I loved it!
There will be several Holiday events going on at the house, so if you’re in the area, check those out too. For a look at all the designers who participated in this Holiday home, you can click that link. Tickets are $20 in advance (I bought my ticket) and well worth a fun day out. The house is only open for tours through Dec. 8th, so you’ll have to hurry!
I’ll be back soon with my own Christmas decorating and can’t wait to share all of that this year. I’ll also be participating in a blogger Christmas home tour with around 25 other bloggers, starting next Monday, so you will not want to miss that either!
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!
I love the kitchen! A lot if good meals could be prepared there and carried out to the porch 🙂 did they share the paint colors on the tour? And did the paint the ceilings the same color as the walls?
Hi, Kathy, the booklet I got doesn’t have any paint colors in there, just descriptions of the designers bios, so I don’t have any of that info. If the other Kathy has it, then maybe she can share.
Oh Rhoda I got some inspiration with all those pix. Thank you for sharing them. That was just so neat and man what a home! WOW LOVED the bathtub filled with presents. lol I had to chuckle out loud when I saw that. Too cute! I had wanted to use magnolia leaves and pine cones in my decorations this year and I got a few ideas from those pix.
Thanks so much for these great photos. I toured the house on Friday and didnt bother taking pictures because I knew some had already been posted here. Believe me yours were much, much better than any I would have taken. : ) I was able to just tour and enjoy . Thank you , thank you , thank you. !!!! BTW Kathy @ 6:41pm, yes they did have a brochure with all of the paint colors listed. Looks like some of the rooms had a different color paint on the ceiling. I will be happy to share if you have a particular room in mind.
This is a VERY long shot — years later, any chance you still have that brochure with the paint colors listed? And IF so, did they mention the color used on the kitchen island. I keep looking for the right shade of olive/army green and this kitchen island is it!
HI, Emily, so sorry, I didn’t keep any of those brochures. Hope you are doing well!
Beautiful pictures and especially of your family.
Looks beautiful Rhoda. But I have to say…my favorite…not even Christmas related…your stove! Fabulous!
I just loved the globe light and greens in the entryway and the back porch were my favorite parts of the home.
Your family picture was so nice to see, don’t your parents look adorable!! I can see where you get your good looks from.
Jaw dropping! Thank you so much, this was one of those Calgon moments.
So pretty, Rhoda! Thank you for sharing this tour! Your family Thanksgiving picture is fabulous! What a lovely family!
Beautifully staged home. Loved the kitchen but I want something somewhere that looks like it is lived in. I loved the picture of your family. Hope this season is the best yet for your family.
This is one big house, but really I love to see these large mansions, since it is so out of my league. When the designers come in and decorate them, it’s meant to totally be inspirational and not necessarily real life living. And that’s why ya’ll read blogs, right? We are more down to earth and live real. I never pass up a change to see a house like this though, always enjoy it to the max!
Rhoda, I loved your photographs. This house is so lovely and it seems so warm and welcoming thanks to wonderful interior design. I’d have to say the kitchen is a favorite room in this house. The outside of the house is beautiful. The landscaping is also well done and the way the house is situated on the property is perfect. Many thanks for sharing the wonderful photos, Rhoda.
The house is amazing, thank you so much for the tour. I would have been struggling to leave the house there are so many rooms to see, I guess you had to walk around it a few times to soak it all in.
Thank you for sharing and excited about seeing the Christmas homes.
Lee 🙂
Hi Rhoda – WOW – certainly is gorgeous with tons of beautiful itms and creative ideas. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
In the kitchen, there were 3 wreaths with candles in the center. Almost looked as if they were made oout of metal. Were they?
I agree. Your friend made the back porch quite charming & welcoming.
Of course, my favorite photo is that of your beautiful family. How ’bout that adorable baby bump!! Soon you’ll have 4 generations!!!
Janice
Hey, Janice, I think they might have been spray painted leaves, maybe real ones. I didn’t touch them, but they sure were pretty. Definitely had the look of metal, but I am thinking they were leaves.
Thanks for this tour Rhoda. What a beautiful home! I got so many Christmas decorating ideas from this alone. Including peacock feather in your greenery…an island centerpiece – with marshmallows in glass canisters. Simple – but great ideas.
I am glad I stopped by…
Linda
I guess I am in the minority because this house didn’t knock my socks off.I thought it was rather bland and boring and lacked any type of personal warmth..and why was there a huge rug in the middle of the foyer or room ( third picture) with nothing on it. It just looked like something was missing to me.
i agree. my reaction was “ugh”. i thought the whole house was overdone – unliveable and uninviting.
Totally loved this house!! Thanks so much for sharing! I agree with you that it’s so fun to see homes that may be out of my league, because I can still incorporate great ideas from them for my house. This is a dream house for me, for sure!! *swoon*
I loved the house. I could live there in a heartbeat! I wish you would of shown a closeup of how they attached those curtains on the ceiling around the bed. That is a great idea.
I’d love to know what the name of the aqua like color they used on the bedroom walls. So pretty.
Howdy! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out
and tell you I really enjoy reading through your posts.
Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that cover the same topics?
Many thanks!
