A Little Christmas Bliss with Mary Kay Andrews

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mary Kay Andrews a few times and she is a delightful lady, spunky and funny.  I’ve also reviewed several of her books in the past and I recently got a copy of Christmas Bliss to read and review and I’ve got a giveaway packet to offer to one of my readers!  Mary Kay is a well known author of chick lit books that are fun to read. She lives here in Atlanta and also loves junking and antiquing, so her books are full of those fun tidbits foo.

Christmas Bliss brings back two favorite characters of Mary Kay’s, antiques dealer Weezie Foley and BeBe Loudermilk, owner of Tybee Island’s Breeze Inn.  Best friends and confidants from Savannah, GA who get into all sorts of trouble together, the story weaves back and forth between the two characters.  Will they be able to sort out their issues with the men in their lives and live happily ever after?   This is a light and breezy story of Weezie’s upcoming Christmas Eve wedding to her longtime love, Daniel, not to mention her best friend, Bebe is due to give birth at any moment.  Weezie hops a plane to NY to visit her soon to be husband, when he is playing guest chef at a prestigious restaurant in NYC.  She barely makes it back in time and then BeBe has a big scare as the love of her life goes missing for a day in his charter boat.

An entertaining read of Southern women’s literature, you’ll enjoy Christmas Bliss this year.

I adore Mary Kay Andrews’ books. Her characters are people I would want for friends! For Christmas, I would love to have my entire family together in one place for a wonderful meal and lots of laughs around the Christmas tree! Christmas Bliss is all about feeling and sharing the joy of what the season means with my friends and family.

My Christms bliss begins once everything is cleaned, baked, and wrapped! I hope to have that accomplished in the next couple of days. (With the Good Lord’s help!) I will have the pleasure of spending time with all of our children and all but one (precious) grandchild this weekend. 27 loved ones, including my sweet husband. We have extended family with adopting and taking on loved ones. Our Lord adopted us too, and that is Christmas Bliss!

I would like, for just one Christmas, to be able to do everything for my family that I want to do. I am so limited by time that everything is rushed, there is no time to make favorite dishes or extra fun things like baking cookies. I would love to have the time to do those special things that make memories, instead of rushing around making sure I have bought enough presents that will be forgotten in a month, shoved into the back of the closet out of sight. I want a Christmas from the heart.

As I have gotten older and the grandchildren have come along, all I really want for Christmas is them to be happy and make many wonderful Christmas memories like I have been blessed with in my life. P.S. A good book to read would be an added bonus, wink, wink. Merry Christmas
