New Office: Green and Turquoise and Beautiful!

I’m just over the moon excited about my new office space. A whole room for all my computer stuff and space to be organized too. How great will that be? You got a sneak peek of the green walls being painted and now they are all finished and I can’t wait to show you how fun it’s going to be.

It’s hard to capture the green correctly, but it’s a custom color that I had Sherwin-Williams make for me, a vibrant yellowy-green, called Fennel. I decided to leave off the bi-fold closet doors and paint the inside a happy turquoise color, Larchmere by Sherwin-Williams.

My plan is to add an Ikea bookcase of some kind inside (to be determined) with baskets and bins for storage (in white, that should look great against the pretty blue).

Here’s a peek of the dark brown doors with my office wall colors. Only one coat on in this pic, but it’s looking good.

Here’s what you see when you walk in the room, lots of pretty green.

stencil in progress

I decided that far wall was the perfect wall to stencil and I used the Large Moorish allover stencil from Royal Designs that I used in my sister’s bedroom. Here’s a tutorial I did when we used this same stencil in my sister’s bedroom, go here.

Moorish stencil wall

One pretty wall of ivory pearl stencil and it’s a standout. Do you like? I sure do! Now, here’s the really fun part. I can’t move in here yet, we still have to do floors in this room, but can’t you just see it all coming together? In case you need a little visual help, here’s my inspiration board, with all the elements that are going to make my office dreamy, happy and functional. Click on the pic (done in Olioboard) and it will show where everything is from:

My New Green Office

You can see the Ikea Blad panels are really going to brighten up the space. I added a striped rug, but am not sure which rug will end up in here. All those little fun details will make a huge impact on my office space. This is my existing Target desk, with a white chair similar to mine. The Ballard shelves I already have, and I’ve added a cute chair just for funsies. That wall clock I bought from Joss and Main and it is so cute. Check out those pretty black botanicals too! I’ve got some super fun plans for those and I’ll share that project with you real soon. You’re going to love it! So, that’s my office space plan! I hope you like it as much as I do. I mentioned that I’ll be doing a lot of blues and greens (my two fave colors) in this house and the office will come alive with color when I’m finished with it.

My two favorite colors! Most of my house is done in some variation of them. You just can’t go wrong! I’m about to have a 25 year old son move out (finally!) so I’ll be getting that room back. I’m planning on turning it into a space for the grandkids when they stay over. It needs to be both boyish and girlie so I’ll definitely be using the SW Chip it Tool (which I think is one of the coolest things EVER!) to come up with something.

Thanks for sharing and the inspiration. It’s been exciting to follow you along on your journey and see everything come together!

My son’s room. He wants a sports themed room and using Chip It would be helpful to get the colors right. Your office is looking great.

Love the direction that your office is going – the stencils are beautiful.

My room – I would love to redo my kitchen based on a watercolor of a stormy lake – it reminds me of Lake Superior in the fall. It would be fun to have a lake & beach theme kitchen in sand and blues and greens.

Wow I can’t wait to see your room finished. I love the colors! I’ve been following your progress and it’s amazing to see the difference you have made with your home. I just need to update several rooms starting with the bathroom, hall floors and a total re-do in the living room. One room at a time. Thanks for a chance to win.

I am on a blue and green kick myself these days, and also considering a home office re-do. How come I never noticed those Ikea curtains in the store before? They are fabulous! I’d use the chip it tool to give me a paint palette for my home office based on those curtains.

I love those colors! I am actually using your office in your former home as my inspiration for a home office. I am converting my laundry room into my home office space. The gift cards would certainly help me make my space just as lovely as yours is shaping up to be.

    love that chevron chair!

i would love to see my vision for my basement in some sort of hard copy way, not just in my head with a “i think that would work.” i’m sure the chip it tool would be super helpful with that!

Rhoda those colors look amazing!! Think about using an Expedit unit from Ikea, the back is open so you’d see that gorgeous blue. I would love to make over my master bedroom with a gray color palette, and I’ve been chipping everything so I created my own Chip It board on pinterest.

Love the blue and green too. My house is done in greens, yellows and reds. My daughter is moving out soon, so I am turning her room into my office/craft room. I, like you, can’t wait to have a place to put everything where it is convenient and organized. Thanks for the inspiration and the opportunity!

Love the stencil! I have several rooms I would redo with ChipIt! The hard part would be choosing which one to reno – Living Room, Family Room or Sunroom…. I LOVE ChipIt!

I love your office, and I’m totally depressed that I was too lazy to even think about the interior of my closet. In fact, that would be my Chip It opportunity.

I would love to re-do my sons room. They are 15 and 11. They have to share a room. We have lived in our house for five years and just haven’t been able to re-do their room. At the moment there is a hole in their wall because….boys will be boys! I would love to surprise them with a room makeover!

We are repainting our dining room–it’s red from the previous owner. I want to lighten it up to a grey and want to pull the color from our curtains. Love the office design—I have that black botanical poster of the cherry in our kitchen. Love it! Can’t wait to see what you do with yours!

Love, love, love the stenciled wall! I’ve got to do this in my house! Like many others have mentioned…my master bedroom needs an overhaul. I’m getting so many ideas from all your projects! Love the blue and greens and that closet in your office – love that color! Can’t wait to see it all pulled together. It may just be the best room in the house! Thanks for the chance to win!
