New Office: Green and Turquoise and Beautiful!

I’m just over the moon excited about my new office space. A whole room for all my computer stuff and space to be organized too. How great will that be? You got a sneak peek of the green walls being painted and now they are all finished and I can’t wait to show you how fun it’s going to be.

It’s hard to capture the green correctly, but it’s a custom color that I had Sherwin-Williams make for me, a vibrant yellowy-green, called Fennel. I decided to leave off the bi-fold closet doors and paint the inside a happy turquoise color, Larchmere by Sherwin-Williams.

My plan is to add an Ikea bookcase of some kind inside (to be determined) with baskets and bins for storage (in white, that should look great against the pretty blue).

Here’s a peek of the dark brown doors with my office wall colors. Only one coat on in this pic, but it’s looking good.

Here’s what you see when you walk in the room, lots of pretty green.

stencil in progress

I decided that far wall was the perfect wall to stencil and I used the Large Moorish allover stencil from Royal Designs that I used in my sister’s bedroom. Here’s a tutorial I did when we used this same stencil in my sister’s bedroom, go here.

Moorish stencil wall

One pretty wall of ivory pearl stencil and it’s a standout. Do you like? I sure do! Now, here’s the really fun part. I can’t move in here yet, we still have to do floors in this room, but can’t you just see it all coming together? In case you need a little visual help, here’s my inspiration board, with all the elements that are going to make my office dreamy, happy and functional. Click on the pic (done in Olioboard) and it will show where everything is from:

My New Green Office

You can see the Ikea Blad panels are really going to brighten up the space. I added a striped rug, but am not sure which rug will end up in here. All those little fun details will make a huge impact on my office space. This is my existing Target desk, with a white chair similar to mine. The Ballard shelves I already have, and I’ve added a cute chair just for funsies. That wall clock I bought from Joss and Main and it is so cute. Check out those pretty black botanicals too! I’ve got some super fun plans for those and I’ll share that project with you real soon. You’re going to love it! So, that’s my office space plan! I hope you like it as much as I do. I mentioned that I’ll be doing a lot of blues and greens (my two fave colors) in this house and the office will come alive with color when I’m finished with it.

I would love the chance to make over my bedroom. I have a really small house and other rooms have be “done” but I haven’t touched my own bedroom since about 1995.

Love all you are doing with your home. I’m getting some good ideas seeing what you are accomplishing.

I would definitely use Chip It for our family room- we have a coquina stone fireplace that I need to pick out the perfect complementary wall color for.

Rhoda it’s looking so great! I love that color in the closet against the wall color of the room. We’re currently working on sprucing up our bedroom after many years of ignoring it and always feeling like it was a dorm room. A gift card would certainly help out with that since I’m doing it slowly as the budget allows.

I would never leave that office if it were mine! On the other hand my master bedroom needs an overhaul. Chip It seems the perfect way to get started.

Your office will be gorgeous! Blues and greens are my favorites too. I would love to win – I have a large open space I would like to redo in my home. My kitchen/dining area flows into our family room area making it one big space. It would be great to find a way to define each area yet still flow together!

I would redo my den – I have most of the stuff but need to slipcover some furniture. I can’t wait to use a happier color than the grayish color in there now.

Love it! The bright, cheerful colors are perfect. Everything looks so modern. I am using your former office green in my laundry room now and loving it. Can’t wait to see what you accomplish with your finished office and whole house. I’m so happy for you, Rhoda.

    Rhoda,

I love the way the new office is coming along! I used a very similar stencil in my old bedroom to make an accent wall. I sure do miss it now I am in a rental house! Your colors are so vibrant and I can’t wait to see the completed “cheery” room!

    Cheers,

Rhoda, your office is coming along very nicely. I love your inspiration board so full of COLOR! You’ll be so productive in that wonderful room.

Having just purchased a house in May, I have lots of rooms to be re-done. I’ve used the Chip It tool a zillion times already trying to decide on exterior paint colors and have found the perfect yellow with it for my front door. Next up will be the living room and dinning room which are joined. Can’t wait to see more as you progress with this room.

We’ve already chosen colors for our living room & granddaughter’s bedroom using ChipIt! Now we’re trying to decide for the kitchen and my office.

Love your space & the colors, fantastic!

I love those Blad curtains! I think I would pick those and the ChipIt! tool and use them in our living room/dining room.

Swoon worthy, Rhoda! The use of the space (space is job#1 in a home office) & the Moorish stencil in pearl is a stand out knock out! Bless the heart of the Chip It! developers at Sherwin-Williams. It is without a doubt the most user friendly tool, and ease of application and selection is something we home decor people want! I’m thinking it is time for me to roll up my sleeves & get busy with a kitchen color redo. Chip It! has been consulted, and the color palette is under consideration. Thanks for the inspiration & keep up the color!

Wow, Rhoda, it already looks beautiful and the colors are so inspiring and alive. Love it! We are still working on our house that we bought as a foreclosure and our kitchen needs a serious overhaul. Thanks for hosting this!
