I’m just over the moon excited about my new office space. A whole room for all my computer stuff and space to be organized too. How great will that be? You got a sneak peek of the green walls being painted and now they are all finished and I can’t wait to show you how fun it’s going to be.
It’s hard to capture the green correctly, but it’s a custom color that I had Sherwin-Williams make for me, a vibrant yellowy-green, called Fennel. I decided to leave off the bi-fold closet doors and paint the inside a happy turquoise color, Larchmere by Sherwin-Williams.
My plan is to add an Ikea bookcase of some kind inside (to be determined) with baskets and bins for storage (in white, that should look great against the pretty blue).
Here’s a peek of the dark brown doors with my office wall colors. Only one coat on in this pic, but it’s looking good.
Here’s what you see when you walk in the room, lots of pretty green.
I decided that far wall was the perfect wall to stencil and I used the Large Moorish allover stencil from Royal Designs that I used in my sister’s bedroom. Here’s a tutorial I did when we used this same stencil in my sister’s bedroom, go here.
One pretty wall of ivory pearl stencil and it’s a standout. Do you like? I sure do! Now, here’s the really fun part. I can’t move in here yet, we still have to do floors in this room, but can’t you just see it all coming together? In case you need a little visual help, here’s my inspiration board, with all the elements that are going to make my office dreamy, happy and functional. Click on the pic (done in Olioboard) and it will show where everything is from:
You can see the Ikea Blad panels are really going to brighten up the space. I added a striped rug, but am not sure which rug will end up in here. All those little fun details will make a huge impact on my office space. This is my existing Target desk, with a white chair similar to mine. The Ballard shelves I already have, and I’ve added a cute chair just for funsies. That wall clock I bought from Joss and Main and it is so cute. Check out those pretty black botanicals too! I’ve got some super fun plans for those and I’ll share that project with you real soon. You’re going to love it! So, that’s my office space plan! I hope you like it as much as I do. I mentioned that I’ll be doing a lot of blues and greens (my two fave colors) in this house and the office will come alive with color when I’m finished with it.

It would be a close call between my living room & my laundry room. My living room has not been painted in (sshh!) over 20 yrs! I know, life just fills up with more important things than painting. I’d so love to paint & have new floors in that room.
My laundry room just looks like the 80’s & I’d love to reorganise that space. It’s a laundry, mud, pantry room & lots of things go on there; gardening stuff, freezer, shoes, coats, pet’s sleeping space.
I’d love to win & really make some changes!
The colors are amazing together. Can’t wait to see the finished room. I’d love to work on my living room. Really ugly carpet that needs to go. Actually, every room in our house could use a little love. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
My kitchen! I painted it a a pretty, rustic red a few years ago but now really want to lighten it up.
I love your paint colors! Your house is coming together so well–I’m so happy for you, Rhoda!
I also tweeted about the giveaway =)

Love, love, love your blog and your renovations! I would love yo make over my master bedroom and bath, and would definitely use Chip-it to help me choose my Sherwin Williams paint colors!
Your office is going to be just lovely Rhoda. I love your color choices. It has been so much fun to watch you and your parents bring your new home together. I look forward to each new post!
I love your office! I’d like to re-do my kitchen, painting the cabinets as well. I’d love to win the sweepstakes!
I would chip my master bedroom. I want to create a soothing space for my hubby and me. Right now it seems it has been more of a sumping ground and storage area rather than a peaceful retreat.
Rhoda,
I’m so much enjoying and celebrating your house progress. We’re just adding on a guest bedroom to our home, so I’d love to have a boost toward decorating it! Thanks. 🙂
I’d love to redo my main floor guest room, and I have the fabrics stashed away (for 4 years now, oops!) to accomplish it with. Been putting it off for many reasons, but soon I hope to change that! I may have to Chipit on your finished project, because the colors are very close to mine!
It’s really lovely, Rhoda. I’m so happy for you.
I love how it looks empty so can only imagine how it will look decorated. Those two colors together have such an early sixties vibe. I have plates with very similar colors from the time. The stencil also adds so much.
Oh, Rhoda! I love the blue & green! Your home is going to be fabulous! My family room definitely needs a makeover but I don’t know where to begin. Would love to win!
Rhoda, I love your office room plans! I too have blue and green throughout my home. Thanks for the chance to win a great prize!
I’m in the planning stages of redoing my great room which consists of a living room/ dining room. Chip-it would be helpful to coordinate like or compatible colors for the space.
I would love to redo my dining room. We get a ton of sunlight in here and I have really dark antique furniture. It is also open to the living room and kitchen. So I would like to use the chip-it to coordinate this room with the other two rooms, but yet still give it enough contrast to let it be its own.
I’d use this in a minute to coordinate colors in my asian-inspired spare bedroom – Thanks, Rhoda!
I would love to redo my office/craft spare bedroom. Chip-it would be great to help me sort out this room.
I would change my ohsoboring beige dining room into something spectacular! (Much like yours!!) Love the Chip-It tool. Lori Lucas
Oh my would do either my bedroom or my daughters room. The chip it too would be so cool to use to pull the looks together.
