Not feeling the need to drag out my big fake tree this year, I opted for the 3′ something tabletop prelit, which is just fine with me. It fits neatly into this little niche by the living room sofa and adds just enough sparkle and cheer.
I used the same big urn that I used last year for the big tree and this one snuggles in there nicely too. Who needs a 7 footer, when this cute little thing is a great stand in? I moved the palm tree and used the old vintage plant stand that I painted aqua earlier this year as a Christmas tree stand. I’m lovin’ it! A couple of stacking Christmas boxes and my sparkly reindeer and it’s a pretty magical little scene.
I have plenty of gold and white ornaments for this tree to make it merry and bright and it all blends in nicely with the silver console table and the aqua mantel. I like changing things up from spot to spot, but still have it play well together.  The topper is what I used last year as well, lots of sparkly tall flowy things and feathers in shades of bronze and gold.  That is a light up star on top, which has such a nostalgic feel to it.
Lots of pretty sparkly ornaments, woven white and gold ribbon, and some glittery flowers complete my little tree.
A few of my favorite ornaments are front and center, like this cute flying Santa.  Pearly beads and sparkling gold snowflakes make it very wintry and festive.
This little fairy elf is also a fave that I’ve had for many years.  There’s nothing better than a softly lit tree at night, is there?
The night shot with the aqua mantel in the background. Ahh, I just love it.  And I really don’t miss the big tree at all. This might become our new tradition.Â
I was playing around with my 50mm lens to get some sweet bokeh shots and I do believe I did it! This is a yardsale pottery urn I found this year and I went to our nearby woods and cut a few pieces of fresh pine and cedar to plop in here for Christmas. With the tree sparkling in the background, it’s a perfect opportunity for a little bokeh love. If you don’t know what bokeh is, it’s those pretty sparkly round dots that happen when a pic is snapped just right in the light. I’m learning!
This little white and gold Christmas tree candle holder is on the side table in front of the tree and lends itself to more bokeh. Isn’t that fun to see?
The antique mirror gets a little festiveness on top with Merry Christmas spelled out in blocks, a sparkly pinecone wreath hung from the empty frame, and flanked with mercury glass candle holders and painted white pinecones, it’s just enough.
That’s our Christmas tree this year. Well, one of 3. One more to share next week in the foyer (and it’s very colorful this year!), along with the dining room. I sort of loved doing 3 smaller trees instead of the big one this year. I will have to remember this next time. It sure was a lot easier to decorate for the season and a lot easier to clean up.
Here’s another bokeh shot of the lime and red kitchen tree. If you missed the Vignette party post, you can click here to see that tree and all the link-ups. Thanks to ALL of you who linked up, there are 350 inspiring links on the party and it’s still open, so it’s not too late to add yours too.
Merry Christmas, my friends! May your Christmas be merry and bright!

I think you are very smart for doing the 3 smaller trees. Very. 🙂 It looks beautiful I might add! 🙂
I love your tree! I think you are smart to do the smaller one…..Sometimes less is much more!! Beautiful!
I love everything about this tree!! Spectacular!
Oh my gosh, Rhoda… stunners! Your decor always sweeps me away.
Those bokah shots are amazing! So fun! I get them by fluke at times but have no idea (yet) how to do them on purpose. I must figure that out. 🙂

I like your tree on the aqua plant stand. It is just lovely! We still haven’t gotten our tree yet but I’ve decided that I will get my “own” little tree to decorate for next year. (I’m waiting for after Christmas sales!)
I’m so annoyed! I had all these things to say, and I pushed “submit” before I was done. Dar! Wanted to let you know that my mom went with the tabletop tree last year, adn she is overJOYed with it! She just got to the point where she was over the big tree, and (like you) hasn’t looked back since! It’s so beautiful, who would miss the big tree? 🙂
I think that sweet and beautiful tree could stay up well through January without feeling too Christmasy. It is so pretty!
I like the idea of three smaller trees. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful tabletop trees this year that I’ve been tempted to bring home. I might have to get one for my new sunroom.
Your holiday decor looks amazing, and your photography is gorgeous, too! Thanks for joining my party and inviting us in. 🙂
Wow, you have some great trees. I can see why you don’t miss a bigger tree with these beauties. I wish my trees looked as elegant as yours.
Hi Rhoda! Oh, I love your little tree! That’s a good idea! You have gorgeous decorations and I love the urn it’s sitting in too. You just are the best at making pretty! 🙂
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Hi Rhoda, I like the idea of trading in the big tree for some small ones, but my teenagers won’t buy into that, I’m sure. I love yours — your photography is beautiful 🙂
VERY pretty!
Looks beautiful and fits perfectly right there!
Well, if that isn’t the cutest little tree. I love it!!!! Great job with the bokeh.
Very beautiful tree. I love that your favorite ornaments are front and center!
You and me both Rhoda, no big tree for us either! I don’t think I’ll regret it either, I have several smaller trees and we can see them in or from every room. So much simpler and just as pretty!
Your tree is GORGEOUS!! I have only done one really simple one so far. Not sure yet what the other ones will be, I’m going to let my kids help me on the rest. 🙂
This is gorgeous! LOVE the white beads but especially the topper. Stunning.
Very elegant, Rhoda. I love the idea of a neutral Christmas tree. I like the way the little plant stand your tree is on matches your pretty mantel. Stunning!
Rhoda,
I love your little tree…it’s soooo cute! I can’t wait till my new camera comes in…I think it might be the same one that you have:)
Blessings,
Linda
