Ihave been very fortunate to be featured in our local Birmingham paper 4 times in the last 3 years and of course, have saved the articles with the intention of framing them and hanging them in my office nook.
I never got around to that. But, then something even better happened!
Larson-Juhl, a world renowned custom framing company in Atlanta (see their ads in Traditional Home magazine) contacted me about partnering with them and doing a custom frame to fit right in with my office nook look and I couldn’t be prouder of the way they turned out. They assured me that they would take into consideration my office space, how it looks and performs, and choose something to complement it.
And they certainly did!
You can see that the color and style of the frame really enhances my office space and fits right in with what I already have.
Here is how Arlynn from Larson-Juhl described the framing of my articles:
Our in-house designer used one of our new frame moldings from the Biltmore Frame Collection , it’s a large, very classic, ornamented pattern with an antiqued black finish actually inspired by the frames hanging in the historic Biltmore house in Asheville, NC. She also utilized a gold beaded filet (almost like a mini-frame) that sits on the inside edge and then a third, more simple filet (in that same antique black finish) on the very inside of the piece to create a very one of a kind look. We also incorporated two matboards, one in a green color that seems very “you” and another, simple black matboard that the newspaper articles are mounted to – the combination of these two mats really work to make the framed articles look like a priceless piece of artwork & should incorporate nicely into your current home decor.
And I would have to agree. They look fantastic with all of my other colors in here, don’t you think?
You might remember the magazine holder project I did awhile back with scrapbook paper, all in my favorite black, white and green.
And I added 3 pretty crystals that I picked up at an antique store at the beach to my thrifty chandelier.
The zebra memo board got a makeover a few months ago.
And the cording that was added a few months ago, along the lime green wall (Behr’s Grasscloth, same as my laundry room) enhances this space even more.

I’m still in love with my office nook and love it even more now. My memories are complete and will be treasured forever in these custom frames from Larson-Juhl’s Biltmore Collection.
It’s personalized totally for ME! And isn’t that what an office space is all about? I think so. The second frame is just behind my office chair on a small wall and this space is completely filled up now.
Do you have any precious mementos that like me, you are just waiting to frame? If you’ve never considered custom framing, think about it now.

Great frames! I love yours , I would do some of my artwork…thanks for the give away Rhoda!
I would make a collage of our wedding invitation and program. It is something I’ve always wanted to do.
(15 years later the project still waits!)
I have a wonderful letter from my 22 year old soldier father to his
bride of 3 months which he wrote from England as he was waiting for the Normandy invasion, complete with cut-outs from the censors.
I have a picture of my daughter waiting to be famed & matted!!!
Rhonda..I’m sure you’ve mentioned before but what paint colors did you use in your office. I’m redoing my guest bath in the green/black style but am having the hardest time picking just the right green. If it were fabric it would be done but I’ve painted more green swatches on those little walls and still can’t find the right one.
Thanks,
Kelly
How fun! I like #822831 in the Biltmore collection and I would frame an article featuring my family. We were photographed in our home after we rehabbed our house that had been abandoned after a flood for more than 30 yrs.
I would frame my son’s college diploma. He graduated three years ago, and it’s still on my “to do” list.
I would FINALLY have my favorite wedding photo framed. We haven’t a single photo of one of the most important days of our lives displayed after 5.5 years!
I also love how they did yours: the colors, the type of framing, and the metal beading.
I would either frame a piece of artwork we have recently bought or a family portrait.
Thanks so much for the giveaway.
My son is a senior in high school and has been playing soccer since he was 5 and is now on the varsity team. He has been asking me to frame some of his soccer momentos, newspaper articles and such.
