Ihave been very fortunate to be featured in our local Birmingham paper 4 times in the last 3 years and of course, have saved the articles with the intention of framing them and hanging them in my office nook.
I never got around to that. But, then something even better happened!
Larson-Juhl, a world renowned custom framing company in Atlanta (see their ads in Traditional Home magazine) contacted me about partnering with them and doing a custom frame to fit right in with my office nook look and I couldn’t be prouder of the way they turned out. They assured me that they would take into consideration my office space, how it looks and performs, and choose something to complement it.
And they certainly did!
You can see that the color and style of the frame really enhances my office space and fits right in with what I already have.
Here is how Arlynn from Larson-Juhl described the framing of my articles:
Our in-house designer used one of our new frame moldings from the Biltmore Frame Collection , it’s a large, very classic, ornamented pattern with an antiqued black finish actually inspired by the frames hanging in the historic Biltmore house in Asheville, NC. She also utilized a gold beaded filet (almost like a mini-frame) that sits on the inside edge and then a third, more simple filet (in that same antique black finish) on the very inside of the piece to create a very one of a kind look. We also incorporated two matboards, one in a green color that seems very “you” and another, simple black matboard that the newspaper articles are mounted to – the combination of these two mats really work to make the framed articles look like a priceless piece of artwork & should incorporate nicely into your current home decor.
And I would have to agree. They look fantastic with all of my other colors in here, don’t you think?
You might remember the magazine holder project I did awhile back with scrapbook paper, all in my favorite black, white and green.
And I added 3 pretty crystals that I picked up at an antique store at the beach to my thrifty chandelier.
The zebra memo board got a makeover a few months ago.
And the cording that was added a few months ago, along the lime green wall (Behr’s Grasscloth, same as my laundry room) enhances this space even more.

I’m still in love with my office nook and love it even more now. My memories are complete and will be treasured forever in these custom frames from Larson-Juhl’s Biltmore Collection.
It’s personalized totally for ME! And isn’t that what an office space is all about? I think so. The second frame is just behind my office chair on a small wall and this space is completely filled up now.
Do you have any precious mementos that like me, you are just waiting to frame? If you’ve never considered custom framing, think about it now.

I would frame a local magazine cover that has a photo I took on the cover…or maybe some vintage sheet music I have that was written about my hometown.
Love that green!!!
I’d frame a collection of three treasured family photos – leaving one space empty for a photo of my soon-to-be-niece (or nephew)!!!
Just last night I went and looked at out family pictures we had taken last week. This givaway would be perfect for one of our new photos.
Your office is wonderful and keeps getting better and better.
I’d love to frame a picture I have of my grandma and her sisters. They’re all wearing overalls and straw hats, and they’re so young and cute!
I love your blog, and your office nook is beautiful!
I love Larson-Juhl frames and have used them every year from the Windrush Gallery here in my town to frame the White House XMAS card that my husband received while working at the Pentagon. I still have last year’s to frame and would love to win!
Rhonda, I would love to Frame our 40 anniversary photo taken with Elvis; this was a party that our daughters held for us this last past August 16th. All the guest sign the photo and its so awesome. I just love the idea of what they did for your office. I just may need help with my office. I also love the Biltmore line of frames. Your office is so pretty and I also have green but it is a resin green. It was a color selected from on of our local home builders.
Our ten year anniversary is coming up and I still have yet to have the mat fromed that we had our guest sign in leiu of a guest book. I have the picture ready to go with it as well.
I am thinking for our anniversary finally getting this done.
If I were to pick out a frame for the project I would chose,
Ambrosia ITEM NO779184.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Oh, I have collected several things from when my Mom (who
passed 18 yrs ago) was a baby that I’ve wanted to frame but
have never gotten around to it. Or frame some of the paper
dolls that she made for herself in the ’30’s that are real works
of art and need preserving. I would love to have help with
either of these. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to have my grandparent’s and my husband’s grandparent’s wedding pictures framed to hang in my bedroom.
I still haven’t framed (nicely anyway) my wedding photos. From 15 years ago!
I have a box of very old (probably 60-70 years) fishing bobbers that belonged to my grandfather. I have always thought of puttingthem into a frame. It seems a bit crazy to put them in something as elegant as the Biltmore collection frames by my home is decorated in a traditional syle and a rustic frame just does not seem right either. I think this would be an opportunity for creativity to shine!
Wow, the frames are beautiful. I would have a replica of a local artist’s painting of my granfather when he was young.
Thanks for the inspiration!
I have several things that come to mind but I think I would frame a picture of my husband’s high school basketball team. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love their site!! They do such lovely work.
I have many things to frame but I think I would save the framing to have a pix framed of my very first Grandbaby due in April. Yep I,m finally gonna be a Grandma!! I love your office nook!! The new framed pix is stunning and fits in so nicely.
I have two newspaper write-ups that I have been saving to get framed as well, Rhoda. It will have to be custom too, because one is part of a center spread and the other is a full newspaper size page. The words “very expensive” are going through my mind, though, so I’ll probably wait. Michaels sometimes has a sale of 60% off custom framing, so I might look into that. Anyway, your frame looks great! It totally fits in with your office {which I never tire of looking at}!
I think we would do some kind of collage of our Golden Retriever, Ruby. We lost her last October to cancer, she was our first dog.
I would frame a magazine write-up of my wedding. Thanks for all of the inspiration!
Great frames! I have been wanting to update my husband’s office space since it is very apparent that it is becoming “our” office space:) He needs his diplomas framed…and some other pieces to make the office complete.
Thanks for the give away!
Rhoda – what a charming workspace. It must not even feel like working in that office! Mine is so much more utilitarian – I may have to take a page from you and infuse a little more pizzazz in my space. Very inspirational!
As for the framing – what a cool give away. I’m a cross-stitcher and have finished a very complex vintage Santa in a sleigh project that I’d love to have framed. #622830 will fit it perfectly since there are gold threads in Santa’s robes and sleigh. Am I really thinking about Christmas already?
Terrie
I would frame one of my grandmother’s vintage hankies. I have several that over 100 years old.
