Office Nook Custom Frames (& a Giveaway)

(Comments are now closed for this giveaway)

IMG_6709

Ihave been very fortunate to be featured in our local Birmingham paper 4 times in the last 3 years and of course, have saved the articles with the intention of framing them and hanging them in my office nook.
IMG_6689

I never got around to that.  But, then something even better happened!

IMG_6703

Larson-Juhl, a world renowned custom framing company in Atlanta (see their ads in Traditional Home magazine)  contacted me about partnering with them and doing a custom frame to fit right in with my office nook look and I couldn’t be prouder of the way they turned out.  They assured me that they would take into consideration my office space, how it looks and performs, and choose something to complement it.

And they certainly did!

IMG_6690

You can see that the color and style of the frame really enhances my office space and fits right in with what I already have.

IMG_6691

Here is how Arlynn from Larson-Juhl described the framing of my articles:

Our in-house designer used one of our new frame moldings from the Biltmore Frame Collection , it’s a large, very classic, ornamented pattern with an antiqued black finish actually inspired by the frames hanging in the historic Biltmore house in Asheville, NC.  She also utilized a gold beaded filet (almost like a mini-frame) that sits on the inside edge and then a third, more simple filet (in that same antique black finish) on the very inside of the piece to create a very one of a kind look. We also incorporated two matboards, one in a green color that seems very “you” and another, simple black matboard that the newspaper articles are mounted to – the combination of these two mats really work to make the framed articles look like a priceless piece of artwork & should incorporate nicely into your current home decor.

IMG_6694

And I would have to agree.  They look fantastic with all of my other colors in here, don’t you think?

IMG_6706

IMG_6705

You might remember the magazine holder project I did awhile back with scrapbook paper, all in my favorite black, white and green.

IMG_6697

And I added 3 pretty crystals that I picked up at an antique store at the beach to my thrifty chandelier.

IMG_6698

The zebra memo board got a makeover a few months ago.

IMG_6699

And the cording that was added a few months ago, along the lime green wall (Behr’s Grasscloth, same as my laundry room) enhances this space even  more.

IMG_6700

I’m still in love with my office nook and love it even more now.  My memories are complete and will be treasured forever in these custom frames from Larson-Juhl’s Biltmore Collection.

IMG_6692

It’s personalized totally for ME!  And isn’t that what an office space is all about?  I think so.  The second frame is just behind my office chair on a small wall and this space is completely filled up now.

Do you have any precious mementos that like me,  you are just waiting to frame?  If you’ve never considered custom framing, think about it now.

Oh, the Biltmore frames are gorgeous! As for the framing item, my dear father passed away and in a drawer, my mom found old photos of him and his Gaelic football team. He looked so young and vibrant. I would love to honor him with a beautiful frame – kind of traditional since it is an old B&W photo from the 50’s.

I would like to custom frame a set of four pictures: Me & my daughter at similar ages, and my hubby & son at similar ages. It’s amazing to see how similar we look in baby pictures!

I’d frame my college diploma. I got my degree 11 years ago, and my diploma is still in an envelope in a box in the closet.

I have some pictures from my father-in-law’s 75th birthday party this spring that I would love to frame and display. It was such a great event where almost everyone in the family (from 3 different states) was able to get together. Those are beautiful frames. It would be perfect!

Rhoda, I have never commented before, I love your blog, thank you for sharing. I would love to frame my mothers infant baby dress. It is the only item she has from her childhood. The Biltmore Collection is beautiful. I am going to my local framer and see if the have the samples from the Biltmore Collection!

I would love to use a frame to put together an outfit of mine and my daughter’s as infants. I have wanted to do this since she was tiny and have not gotten around to it. I think it would be a great way to memorialize mother and daughter and be something we can pass down through the generations!

I love, love, love your office and always drool over it. The frames are the perfect addition and add some pizazz.

    Fall Blessings,

    Natalie

I love so many of the frames! (Yours looks great in your fab office, by the way!)

If I win I would give it to a friend who wants to frame all her huband’s Boy Scout medals for an anniversary present. She doesn’t really have the money to have this professionally done, so I would love to win this for her.

What BEAUTIFUL frames! I would LOVE to get a picture I painted framed. I painted it over 10 years ago. It’s a pic of a restaurant that my friends and I visited almost every day while visiting England. Thanks…

They did a beautiful job on your frame! I would have our wedding photo custom framed. It’s been in a frame for 12 years, but I’ve been thinking about re-doing it lately.

I would have my parents wedding photograph reframed. They’re both gone now, and I would love to hang this in my house. It’s a black and white photo, but it makes my heart happy to see them, so young and happy at the beginning of their 35 years together. I’ve tried to find a frame that does it justice but just haven’t been able to perfect it.

I would have my mascot uniform framed. When I was 4 years old I was a mascot for a high school. It is a 2 piece made of white satin material with beautiful fringed trim on the skirt (so sweet & tiny). It’s now 50 years old! and I would love to have it framed to pass down to my children and grandchildren. Perhaps included in the frame a photo of me when I was wearing the uniform.

I would love the Bolshoi Traditional frame or any of the silver traditional frames!

My husband’s business has been featured a couple of times in the local paper and I’d love to frame one of those articles!

I was also interviewed in our local paper in January for a piece about mom bloggers.

I have a beautiful print of the beach that my husband gave me for Christmas ……going on 4 years ago…to remind me of our incredible family vacations every year at Mexico Beach and Cape San Blas, Florida……..I would love to have it framed so that I could finally hang it on our beatiful mantel.

That is a very pretty and adds such a nice touch to an already pretty space.

I would have them frame a picture my son drew when he was only 4. It was the first time he drew him and I together. You can tell the basic forms are a small child and larger person (me). I have it framed but nothing like the beautiful job they did on your articles.
