Ihave been very fortunate to be featured in our local Birmingham paper 4 times in the last 3 years and of course, have saved the articles with the intention of framing them and hanging them in my office nook.
I never got around to that. But, then something even better happened!
Larson-Juhl, a world renowned custom framing company in Atlanta (see their ads in Traditional Home magazine) contacted me about partnering with them and doing a custom frame to fit right in with my office nook look and I couldn’t be prouder of the way they turned out. They assured me that they would take into consideration my office space, how it looks and performs, and choose something to complement it.
And they certainly did!
You can see that the color and style of the frame really enhances my office space and fits right in with what I already have.
Here is how Arlynn from Larson-Juhl described the framing of my articles:
Our in-house designer used one of our new frame moldings from the Biltmore Frame Collection , it’s a large, very classic, ornamented pattern with an antiqued black finish actually inspired by the frames hanging in the historic Biltmore house in Asheville, NC. She also utilized a gold beaded filet (almost like a mini-frame) that sits on the inside edge and then a third, more simple filet (in that same antique black finish) on the very inside of the piece to create a very one of a kind look. We also incorporated two matboards, one in a green color that seems very “you” and another, simple black matboard that the newspaper articles are mounted to – the combination of these two mats really work to make the framed articles look like a priceless piece of artwork & should incorporate nicely into your current home decor.
And I would have to agree. They look fantastic with all of my other colors in here, don’t you think?
You might remember the magazine holder project I did awhile back with scrapbook paper, all in my favorite black, white and green.
And I added 3 pretty crystals that I picked up at an antique store at the beach to my thrifty chandelier.
The zebra memo board got a makeover a few months ago.
And the cording that was added a few months ago, along the lime green wall (Behr’s Grasscloth, same as my laundry room) enhances this space even more.
I’m still in love with my office nook and love it even more now. My memories are complete and will be treasured forever in these custom frames from Larson-Juhl’s Biltmore Collection.
It’s personalized totally for ME! And isn’t that what an office space is all about? I think so. The second frame is just behind my office chair on a small wall and this space is completely filled up now.
Do you have any precious mementos that like me, you are just waiting to frame? If you’ve never considered custom framing, think about it now.

My teenage daughter gave me a self-portrait she sketched in pencil for mother’s day. It’s so perfect and special but I haven’t yet decided how to frame it. Thanks for the opportunity to have a real professional make that decision for me!

I have a collection of snapshots of my husband’s (deceased) father during his time in Korea. My husband doesn’t know I was able to obtain these snapshots, and I have been trying to come up with a way to display them for awhile now. This could definitely be it!

That looks so pretty in your office! The whole office is neat! I wish I could figure out how to cluster things like that without them looking cluttered, or how to mix so many patterns without it looking like I just put stuff together with no thought of coordination. I usually just go minimal because I can’t fake randomness well. lol.
Their frames are all so beautiful! The 722831 in black is AWESOME! Unfortunately I don’t think I have anything worth putting in a frame that nice! My husband seems to be eternally deployed or off for Navy training and so we neither have children nor any framable photos of ourselves together. lol. I’m working on an embroidered family crest, so probably something like that. lol

If I was to be the lucky winner of this fabulous giveaway, I would choose frame #422831 its looks to be the perfect size and so pretty. I would frame a picture I have from my wedding of my husband’s family. It is the last family picture they have before his father passed away. I wish that his cousin had made, but nonetheless it is really sentimental now without Hubby’s dad alive.
P.S. Thanks for sharing with us about this framing group. I might look into them for a few frames that I will need to handle once the house is finished.
