When we arrived in New Orleans last week, the moving truck was just leaving, having delivered the new chest and hutch for the baby’s room. They had ordered it from a local company and had been waiting a few weeks and thought it would even be longer to wait, to get the nursery completely finished. So, that was a happy early delivery that couldn’t have been timed better. Since my sister and I are all into decorating, we couldn’t wait to get started in there and hang pictures and style the hutch and chest. We all discussed hanging the pics and decided what needed to go where. So, I hope you enjoy these nursery decorating ideas.
It was really fun to see this nursery come together, especially since we painted the stripes on the wall last fall. Adding the pink toile and the beautiful bedding was the icing on the cake. Parker was ONE month old yesterday!
Lauren made those nursery drapes herself with fabric from Online Fabricstore. They have a nice selection and the toile was the perfect accent in here. This room has a nice traditional feel, but still good for a little girl too.
She’s also got a cute pink and cream rug for the middle of the floor that’s coming soon.
The chair/rocker and ottoman was passed on to her from her sister-in-law, as was the baby bed. Nice to have that perk in the family.
Artwork Lauren and Philip picked up which has a fun whimsical feel.
They will eventually get a little side table for the chair and add a lamp that she already has.
Isn’t it cute?
The monogram was ordered online too from Scrappin Plus and Philip stained the wood the same as the bed.
I didn’t get a really good shot of the inside of the bedding, but it’s so cute and she found this at Bye Bye Baby store. And how serendipitous that it has the exact SAME toile as the drapery fabric?! It has a mix of about 4 fabrics all in pink and cream/tan colors and was perfect for the bed.
The diaper stacker with the same toile.
The pretty crystal chandelier came from Pottery Barn and her parents and I got that for her. It adds just that touch of bling to the room.
New chest that just came in and we added artwork over it.
Lauren found this cute children’s artwork at an Etsy shop called Loxly Hollow and fell in love with them. They had them framed.
Parker’s middle name is Fox (a family name) and so she is going to have lots of foxes in her room. Love this artwork!
The chest and hutch completes the room.
We filled up the hutch with books and cute stuffed animals.
Lauren added the tea set after we left and I love it in here. Her friend, Catherine made the tea set.
So cute and adds a lot of color to the hutch.
Our dear friends here in Marietta, Paul and Judy Clark, gave Lauren this adorable handmade clock (that Paul made) just especially for little Parker. Notice the fox behind the fence. Lauren just loves it!
I love this carriage light too and it’s so cute all lit up.  See that little sign hanging up? It says, This baby girl is perfect and it was hanging in Lauren’s room when she was a baby. Not sure where it came from originally, but it was a part of Lauren’s childhood.
This cute white fox is one I found and gave her and it came from Pier One.
Two very sweet shop owners, Fern and her twin sister, Fran, from Watch me Grow Stickers, have been reading my blog for a long time and emailed me about giving Lauren a few things from their shop and she sent these cute stickers that can be used in photo shoots for growing babies.
These closet organizers came from them too and what a treat for Lauren to have these in Parker’s closet. This little girl already has a closet full of clothes so she will be one styling baby.
We really love how great the nursery turned out and how cute it is, so hope you enjoyed the tour and maybe got a few ideas for a nursery too. We don’t get to decorate nurseries too often, but this one sure was fun!
What a precious room. The monogram, the toile, the stripes on the walls, and my favorite is the precious carriage night light. Want that for my bathroom. This baby girl is blessed to have such a loving and caring family. God bless all of you.
What a beautiful room, love the colors. Question, what is the little door in Parker’s room and where does it go? Interesting.
Kathy, that little door accesses a little storage area in the attic. It’s not finished or anything but things could be stored in there.
Hi Rhoda,
What a beautiful nursery! It was great timing that you and your sister could help decorate when the furniture came. What fun. Loved seeing the pics of your parents with the new baby, as we think your parents are just precious!
Thanks so much for including the pictures of our monthly stickers and baby closet dividers. We received a sweet email for your niece. You are blessed with a sweet family.
