Speed Decorating Book Review & Giveaway

Ilove it when a publisher contacts me about doing a review on a decorating book.  I was recently given the opportunity to receive a copy of the book, Speed Decorating, by pro-stager Jill Vegas and the chance to give away a copy to one of my readers.

So, of course I said a BIG FAT….YES!

It’s full of glossy color pics that I think you’ll really enjoy and Jill focuses on a Speed Decorating Questionnaire evualating the following questions:

  • What are the primary functions of the space?
  • How does the room look?
  • Is everything working?
  • Does the room feel comfy and inviting:

She suggests getting started by answering these questions and gives a lot of practical tips for arriving at a room of your dreams.  I think the book is concise with some well thought out advice that all decorators could take advantage of, even if you don’t have natural skills and talents in this area.

Jill covers all of the following areas in detail with lots of pics:

Entry

Living Room

Kitchen

Dining Room

Bedroom

Bath

Curb Appeal

So, if you’d live to win a copy of this book, just leave a comment here and tell us which room you’d focus on if you were going to do some speed decorating?

Giveaway ends on Friday evening at 6 pm Central time.

what a great book! hmmm I think probably my girls bedrooms are the rooms I need help with. I’ve been spending too much time on the other rooms and not enough on theirs!

My living room is in some serious need of help. Smallish room, big TV, two doorways, two windows, did I say big TV?

My curb appeal is in serious need of some help.
It is warming up here in Michigan so I’m ready to get out there and improve the look.

I would probably concentrate on the kitchen/hearth room/breakfast room area, because that is what I am working on, right now.

I’d love to add this book to my collection, Rhoda.

I need help with my whole house as it is a palette of neutrals but I would focus on my living room first. I would so love to pop it up with color and functional. Thanks for the chance to enter!

I could use help with my living room. I just had a baby and I could also use help with the nursery. We have high ceilings so it dwars the baby furniture even more. I could use a book like this!

I would focus on my living room. We just got our new couch. That along with a small desk and TV cabinet are the only things in the room. I would like to be able to make it warm and homey, but still keep it bright. I don’t know how to do that.

The master bathroom!!! Mine is plain white with nothing on the walls or on the tub surround.
