Speed Decorating Book Review & Giveaway

Ilove it when a publisher contacts me about doing a review on a decorating book.  I was recently given the opportunity to receive a copy of the book, Speed Decorating, by pro-stager Jill Vegas and the chance to give away a copy to one of my readers.

So, of course I said a BIG FAT….YES!

It’s full of glossy color pics that I think you’ll really enjoy and Jill focuses on a Speed Decorating Questionnaire evualating the following questions:

  • What are the primary functions of the space?
  • How does the room look?
  • Is everything working?
  • Does the room feel comfy and inviting:

She suggests getting started by answering these questions and gives a lot of practical tips for arriving at a room of your dreams.  I think the book is concise with some well thought out advice that all decorators could take advantage of, even if you don’t have natural skills and talents in this area.

Jill covers all of the following areas in detail with lots of pics:

Entry

Living Room

Kitchen

Dining Room

Bedroom

Bath

Curb Appeal

So, if you’d live to win a copy of this book, just leave a comment here and tell us which room you’d focus on if you were going to do some speed decorating?

Giveaway ends on Friday evening at 6 pm Central time.

I think I would focus on my guest room…..or maybe the kitchen…or the bathroom…..hmm I think I may need to narrow it down

Hi Rhoda…….Would love that book! Fast & easy would help alot. I have Diana’s empty room to decorate for JOhnny’s office space. She just recently finished college & got a very nice apartment where she is working. We have a whole empty space to decorate from the bottom to the top, ha!
    Bonnie Thanks for sharing!

I would start in my living room/dining room area. We moved into this house 3 years ago and I started to decorate but never really finished. This book would get me there.

Definitely Curb Appeal… our home has great bones but lacking in charm and style on the outside!

Oh, perfect just in time for ‘spring spruce-up’. I would use this book for the empty bedroom that could be so much more than a catchall. . .count me in!

Great looking book! I need to concentrate on our new sunroom. It’s large – 14×29 – and I want to divide it into two areas – a dining area and a sitting area.

I would love this book to help me with my living/family room. I am in the middle of trying to figure out what I want to do with it and kind of scared to start painting!! It is a little overwhelming!

I would definitely use the book’s ideas to decorate my kitchen. It currently has an identity crisis.

I’d work on my living room, which has been the biggest struggle for me. The design of the space is just not conducive to good furniture layouts. But I’m always trying to make it better and better!

My living room is in need of some serious speed decorating. I’m completely incapable of figuring out how to accessorize, so all the big pieces are in place but the room is just blah because I can’t figure out how to finish it off. I bet this book could help a lot in that department.
