Speed Decorating Book Review & Giveaway

Ilove it when a publisher contacts me about doing a review on a decorating book.  I was recently given the opportunity to receive a copy of the book, Speed Decorating, by pro-stager Jill Vegas and the chance to give away a copy to one of my readers.

So, of course I said a BIG FAT….YES!

It’s full of glossy color pics that I think you’ll really enjoy and Jill focuses on a Speed Decorating Questionnaire evualating the following questions:

  • What are the primary functions of the space?
  • How does the room look?
  • Is everything working?
  • Does the room feel comfy and inviting:

She suggests getting started by answering these questions and gives a lot of practical tips for arriving at a room of your dreams.  I think the book is concise with some well thought out advice that all decorators could take advantage of, even if you don’t have natural skills and talents in this area.

Jill covers all of the following areas in detail with lots of pics:

Entry

Living Room

Kitchen

Dining Room

Bedroom

Bath

Curb Appeal

So, if you’d live to win a copy of this book, just leave a comment here and tell us which room you’d focus on if you were going to do some speed decorating?

Giveaway ends on Friday evening at 6 pm Central time.

I think I’d speed decorate my family room. It’s really big and I’m having a hard time with all that space.

Oh Goodness! My bedroom is located off my foyer and living room and seems to be a “catch-all” sometimes! I would love to be able to make it more of a “haven”.

I am always trying to “tweak” my living room/family room and would definitely welcome tips for that!

Oh I would want to do all the rooms in the house but especially the guest room and the office and then the master bedroom.

This book looks quite fun! I’m not sure I could narrow it down to one room that I would focus on: perhaps our small bathroom, since I am panning to tackle that soon, anyway!

I’d love a copy of this book. I am working full time and being a grandma and have very little time for decorating, but I LOVE doing it!! I think I’d focus on my dining room – it’s got the blahs!

Looks like a great read! I would probably focus on the master bedroom…been wanting to change some things in there for a while! Thanks for another great opportunity Rhoda!

    Hi, Rhoda
I would definitely enjoy this book and the curb appeal section. We need our house to look inviting and right now, I don’t think it does. Thanks for another great opportunity to win a great give away.
BTW, we enjoyed your frittata recipe last week. It was great and my guys really liked it.

I would do our master bath. I started on it 2 years ago with painting the walls and that is as far as I got. It is my least favorite room in the house.
