Tell Me About YOU!

This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now.  I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU!  If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.

Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today.  I’ve often wondered who all is reading.  You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often.  Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂  Then, you come out of the woodwork.

So, today is all about YOU!  Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife.  If you don’t mind sharing.  I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.

OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself.  We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.

And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.

Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂  I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school.  I will be 53 in December.

Hi Rhoda! I am 24 and live in Tampa, FL. I was married in June 2008 and my husband and I just bought our first home. I started reading your blog this summer (I am a teacher and have lots of time off in the summer). I was looking for ideas on how to make our new home “homey.” I love your thrify finds section–it gets me out there, although I never find anything half as good! I also LOVE seeing all the Christmas decor, but would really appreciate a post or two about how to do is modestly and inexpensively. Thanks for all your time!

    Hi Rhoda!
I come here whenever you go coastal!! Well, sometimes I stop by anyway from my little seaside town in RI…, spending my days working on my blogs mostly, looking over the ocean inlet, dreaming about living in a warmer climate one day, in a town by the sea where everything is within walking distance. I’m 48…, and it’s never too late to dream, right!
    Thanks for the invite!
    All the Best.

Hi, Rhoda! I’m 24, recently married, and just moved to the Atlanta area. I think we traded places–I see you grew up in Atlanta and moved to Birmingham, and I grew up close to B’ham and just moved to Atlanta! 🙂 I love your website, especially decorating on a budget. I love seeing new ideas and new ways to make our home more “homey”. Thanks for all the great posts!

I’m Kristy from Cincinnati. Ohio. I turned 55 this year and have been married since 1977. We have two children now in their mid twenties. I taught math for a while and then became a surface stitchery designer. I love all varieties of handwork from quilting, embroidery, painting, smocking, etc. I was injured a year ago and have been enjoying reading blogs and viewing your pictures during this time as I heal.

Hey Rhoda! I’m from Seattle, WA (actually a little suburb just north of Seattle called Lake Forest Park). I’m 45 and work FT outside the home in advertising sales. I have two kids (14 & 18) and the world’s best husband! (Well he is for me at least!). I have a myriad of hobbies including decorating, papercrafting/cardmaking/stamping, merry-making (lol…what else do you call it)?, gardening, cooking/baking, and hanging out with friends and family…and now I guess blurfing can be added since I do that all the time too! I’ve been reading your blog for more than a year and love every moment of it! You have such a fun way of connecting with your readers and sharing your experiences! More success and happiness to you! 🙂 much love, Elaine

    Hi Rhoda,
I mostly lurk, but have enjoyed your blog since the early days. I am 44, mother of two, Registered Mammographer (not practicing now) and work as a Director of Oncology (Cancer) Services at a major, 15 hospital, healthcare system in Tennessee. And, um, I am a TN fan – Go VOLS. Don’t hurt us too bad next Saturday at the game ok? 😀

    Hey, Rhoda!
I’ve only been enjoying your blog for about a month, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!! I’m 48, widow, mother of three boys (14,10,7), teacher, and parenting instructor, so I have to manage my time carefully. This is why I’m writing you right now and having my 14 year old rip out the carpeting on our stairs….(heeheehee). Keep up your inspiring blog! Much thanks!

    Hi,
I’ve been following your blog for a few months now. My name is Linda and I live in Beaverton, Oregon with my husband; our 19 year old son is a sophomore in college in the Los Angeles area. I am a dental hygienist and teach it part-time. I love to do papercrafting (scrapbooking and card making to be specific), gardening, reading, cooking, and traveling (not in any particular order). Your blog gives me great ideas to update our home creatively, and on a budget! Thanks so much~

I am 26, married to my high school sweetheart for 3.5 years, and have a 19 month old daughter. We are expecting our 2nd child in Feb! I am a stay at home mom & raku ceramic artist. Hi Rhoda! I am from MN and have been following your blog for only a couple of months. I’ve been on the edge of doing some out of my comfort zone decorating and was looking for inspiration from diy projects.

I work full time and am 32. I have been married for 6 six years and work full time outside of the home. I have quite a house full: one daughter, three teenage bonus sons, two cats and a dog.

I’m now trying to work up the courage to paint the trim in my house white. Our house is only 3 years old, so the trim is still pretty new and honey colored, but I’ve always wanted white trim, so I’ve been weighing my options.

Thanks for sharing your decorating adventures with us.

    Tracie

    Hi Rhoda,

I believe I found your blog via Joni’s Cote de Texas blog and I’m an avid reader and at times leave you very positive comments when I’m not on the run.

Wow! Everyone is giving their ages? Hmmm…not that I’m that bashful about it, especially in nice company. Okay, I’m a 50-something wife to a wonderful man whose cooking and handiman work I adore! (I’d adore him w/o those skills, but it sure is a big blessings for me that he came with those skills!) I am also mother of three gorgeous and talented grown children with six grandchildren under the age of 4! My oldest daughter was a Rockette for several years before starting her family of her husband and two sons and a baby girl. My son was a drummer in a Christian rock band before starting his family with his beautiful wife. They gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl last December after praying and waiting and trying for a baby for 8 years. And my youngest daughter is a busy little country cowgirl with a little cowgirl and cowpoke of her own now. We all happily reside in Texas.

I have been told that I should write a blog. But I’m so busy reading your wonderful blog and so many others, I can’t figure out why I need to write one myself. Where would I find the time? And what would I write about that someone would want to read? It’s hard just keeping up with all the ones I read now. But I am working on a couple of novels, so maybe I should stick to finishing one novel and then think about a blog!

Thanks for letting us share and for always sharing your wonderful life with us.

    Blessings,

    Victoria
