Tell Me About YOU!

This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now.  I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU!  If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.

Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today.  I’ve often wondered who all is reading.  You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often.  Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂  Then, you come out of the woodwork.

So, today is all about YOU!  Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife.  If you don’t mind sharing.  I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.

OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself.  We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.

And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.

Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂  I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school.  I will be 53 in December.

I started reading your blog this summer I Think. I will also add that it is one of my personal favorites! I am a wife, mother of two, and new to the blogging world. I live in Washington State, just north of Seattle. Although, I have always felt a little bit like a southern gal, after all, it is where my family came from. I named both my children after two well known southern cities as well. 🙂
Anyhow, I love reading your blog, hope this gives you some insight as to who we all are. 🙂

    Hi Rhoda,
I’ve been reading a long time…when exactly did you start blogging? I may have been here since your early days…. I don’t always comment, but do often. Kind of like me in real life, sometimes I am quiet, sometimes not.
Anyway, when I first started reading these comments, I thought that I was going to be one of the oldest because so many young girls are readers. Felt better after reading some in their fifties, where I am! 😉 And I am wondering what merry-making is……..lol.
I am a Southern Living at HOME consultant, domestic engineer, and mom. I have three children, with nearly an empty nest….last one is a sr. in high school. My oldest lives over there in Huntsville, so maybe one day I’ll head that way and we can have lunch! 🙂

Hi, Rhoda! We’ve sort of “met” through some blog parties, but I found your blog when you were featured somewhere else one day last year…probably The Nester’s site? I loved seeing how you incorporate your thrifty finds and make them look like you paid lots of $$$$. 😉 I was hooked!

I’m twenty-faux (!! hehehe), married for 8 years to a guy I’ve known since I was 4 or 5 years old. We have two little girls (3 1/2 and 1 1/2) and a little bitty ball of fur Pomeranian named Emma. We live in Virginia. I love to read, write (blog), SHOP, travel, do crafty stuff, and learn more about making my house a warm and welcoming environment from bloggers like you. 🙂 I’d also like to get on the “healthy” bandwagon and return to my “early marriage weight.” I just need to get motivated to follow through. 🙂

Thank you so much for continuously offering interesting, uplifting, creative material for your “fans.” I want to know:
    1. What is your favorite movie?
    2. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
    3. How early do you start Christmas shopping?

    Hi Rhoda,
I accidentally logged on to your blog after perusing another blog. That has been about eight months ago now. I am a retired teacher in Virginia and just turned 60-a very young sixty. I have to keep telling myself that! My husband and I have owned a Hallmark shop for about 10 years now so retirement is busy. I like your thrifty finds of the week. I just shake my head in amazement at some of the things you locate. I enjoy decorating and antiquing. But, I must tell you, I would have a hard time painting some of the wooden pieces that you redo! Maybe I need to break out of that habit!

    Hi!
I’ve been reading your blog for some time! I love your decor style and looking forward to Thrifty Treasures on Monday….even though I haven’t participated in a while.

    Ok a little about me:
I live in Texas, I’m 27, engaged, full-time student working towards my teaching degree.
My fiancée and I recently teamed up with one of his friends to open a pizza restaurant in Dallas called Slice. Slice is keeping us super busy but I still make time for my favorite past times……crafting, decorating, and of course blogging!

Hi! I’m 28, live in AZ, although I grew up in the South (TN, GA) and hope to return there one day. I’m a wife of 6 years to a wonderful man and a SAHM of three boys ages, 4, 3, and almost 1. I’ve been lurking since sometime this summer and love reading about home decorating. We’re in the process of buying our first home, so I’m hoping to put some of your ideas to use soon!

    Hi Rhoda,

Well, since you asked….i’ve been lurking for almost 1 1/2 years. I’m almost 50, live in the central panhandle of Florida, married 21 years and have 2 sons 19 & 14. I love your decorating tips esp the how to’s – (the bathroom mirror and the dining room picture frame molding – wow). You always provide lots of inspiration. I love when you show what you are considering and why you picked what you did (your kitchen makeover). I wish I were half as snazzy at the thrifty finds…the lion wall fountain—i am so jealous.

We are remodeling (slooooowly) my husband’s grandparents house bringing it from the 70’s to this century!! we are still working on the bones of the house hopefully the beauty can begin next year.

Thank you so much for sharing, it is always enjoyable to read your blog…

Hi! I’m a 40 year-old, wife, mother to 3 sons, and an elementary school bookkeeper. I will be a grandmother for the first time around the end of next month. I live in Northeast Alabama. I’m not sure when I started following your blog, but all things Southern appeals to me. I like to follow blogs about home decorating, organizing, and frugal living/couponing. Keep up the good work! I’ll stop back by soon!

Well, I am a long-time reader (and not a lurker!) and have even been blessed to meet you in real life! (Can’t believe that was almost 2 years ago). So happy how your blog has evolved and of course enjoy each and every one of your posts.

I’m a high school guidance counselor from Florida. I love blogland! Thanks for inspiring us all!
