This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now. I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU! If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.
Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today. I’ve often wondered who all is reading. You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often. Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂 Then, you come out of the woodwork.
So, today is all about YOU! Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife. If you don’t mind sharing. I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.
OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself. We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.
And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.
Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂 I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school. I will be 53 in December.

Rhoda, I’ve been with you a looooong time, but not since the beginning. But before I had a blog of my own. You encouraged me to blog! 🙂
I’m from Florida, and I am over the hill! 😉 You know a lady never tells her age, but I’m older than dirt as proven by my older than dirt birthday party I threw on the blog this summer. LOL!
I am a professional magpie. 😉
XO,
Sheila 🙂
Hi.. I am a lurker, and check your blog on a daily basis. It is the first thing that I do when I turn on my computer in the morning. I am 62 and live in Colorado Springs, Co. I so enjoy your blog, ideas, and all of the wonderful items you find at garage sales, etc. I am a fan of wicker furniture, and my whole house is full ot if, except for some furniture that belonged to my late mother. I have found most of it at Goodwills, and one close by antique mall, where they know me by name, as the Wicker Lady. Blessings to you in all of your endeavors in decorating and taking the bloggin world to the greatest. Many thanks for sharing, Donette
Hi! I’m 40 and I live in VA. I work 20 hours a week at my church. I love decorating and saving money! My kids are 8 and 10. Growing up too fast……
Hi Rhoda,
I’ve been reading your blog for perhaps a year, not too sure. I’m a 58 year old recently located in Nebraska. I have enjoyed so many aspects of your blog and some of your wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Rhoda! I’m a lurker, and have been reading your blog for a long time. I live in West TN, I’m a mail carrier, married 31 years, mother of 3, new grandmother (with another one due in Feb,). and my oldest son is getting married next month.
Enjoy your blog, and seeing all your “finds”!!
Hi Rhoda, I live in SW Missouri and I am 37. I work for the UNiversity of Missouri as an Early Childhood care and development specialist in 3 rural counties. I travel 3 to 4 days a week. I have a 3 year old son. My husband and I are licensed foster parents. I also sell Longaberger baskets in my spare time.
I love your blog! You have such a beautiful home and have helped me to look at some of the things in my home differently.
I just discovered your blog recently. Interior design has always been something I love. I’m thirty-seven, married with one son and a writer. Oh, and my name is Shannon. Nice to meet you!
Hi Rhoda,
I think you already know a bit about me because you so kindly featured my dining room ( picture frame molding makeover) on your blog awhile back. I am 56 y.o. and live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I have been married for 36 of those years and have a wonderful daughter who is married to a great man. They have blessed us with 2 adorable grandsons, Cameron who is 4 and Parker who is 3. They are almost 13 months apart to the day.
I work at a small privately owned insurance adjusting firm from Monday to Thursdays; yeah! I get a long weekend every week. My present hobbies include scrapbooking all about my 2 adorable grandsons. I started scrapbooking when our daughter first found out she was pregnant almost 5 years ago. I also enjoy rubber stamping and cardmaking just to name a few of my hobbies. I must admit though that my scrapbooking & cardmaking have been taking a bit of a back seat lately because I’m too busy reading such wonderful blogs such as yours (Southern Hospitality is actually my first visit most every day).
You are a great inspiration and as always, TFS!
Sheila
HI Rhoda,
Came across your blog on Cindy’s “My Romantic Home”, I loved your blog and added it to my favorites. I have been reading you daily for about 6 months now.
I am a 43 yr old mom of two grade school boys. I have been married to their dad for 24 years. I live in Buena Park, CA and work in an elementary school kitchen…(one of the few that actually still cooks hot lunches for the kids!)
Hi Rhoda,
It’s Tonja, from Dothan. I check your blog often, and remember, with fondness, when the “B” Club met in Birmingham. Loved all the Christmas pics from last week! I’m going to be in B’ham with my son this week, so I may try to find some ‘goodies’ if I have the time.
Your blog continues to be interesting and informative! Blessings to you and hope we can meet again!
Tonja
I’m a lurker, but a faithful follower of your blog. I picked your blog from another that I follow. I have only been reading blogs since July of this year. All of them have given me so much inspiration to get up off my duff and do something. I love seeing all the great “stuff” you find while thrifting. I don’t seem to find the good stuff like you can, but I have been a bargain shopper for years. Almost never pay full price for anything, except the routine groceries that never seem to be on sale. I live in West Tennessee, you know we Tennesseans believe this is really three states. I grew up in Memphis but now reside in a small town and love it. I am married to my high school sweetheart, 43 years after we broke up..( very long story) I took a quick survey and have discovered that I am old enough to be everyone’s Mother who has commented so far. I am a do-it-myselfer,(painting, flooring, making window treatments, and furniture make overs) which started out of necessity. My husband was a little frightened when I told him I have my own chain saw…I like all needlework, but for the past five years I seem to do nothing but quilting..keeps be out of the therapist office. I hope to one day take the plunge and have a blog.
Hello! My name is Wendy, Im 26 and I live in Lakeland, FL. Ive been married for 11 months, but we’ve been together for 9 years. We have 3 kids, Blake is 8, Layla is 5 and Morgan is 7 months. I found your blog some time over the summer, but I dont remember how. Ive been reading ever since!
Hey Rhoda,
It’s Joanna from Panama City…Been reading a looooong time! Can’t remember how I found your blog…but when I did I started reading daily…don’t comment too often anymore but used to all the time. I’m a blog designer {of course, I am the one that did yours, which is fantastic to have my design on a BIG blog!} And I am a mom of 2 girls, ages 10 and 4!
Hi Rhoda
I’m also one of those lurkers! I live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. More specifically the Okanagan Valley. I love all things southern and would love to visit your area one day. I got started on reading blogs last Christmas with Boo Mama’s Christmas House Tour. Wow! I also enjoy the trash to treasure memes, thrift shopping and tablescaping. I am married, have three grown children and one lovely daughter in law. I can’t wait for the Christmas Home Tours again this year. Thanks for all the info you share. Your home is beautiful and has inspired me several times to make changes around here.
My name is Hannah, I’m 22 years old and live in Ohio. I moved here from the beautiful state of Alaska to support my med-school student of a husband. Currently I work in a chiropractor’s office, but we can’t wait for the day that we can have kids and I can stay home with them =) I’ve been reading your blog for several months now as a lurker. . .I don’t have my own blog so I live vicariously through everyone else’s!
Hi, Rhoda! I have been with you since the beginning and LOVE your blog! I read it every day and love, love all your decorating tips and pictures. Thank you for your yard sale Monday linky party! I look forward to it returning next year. Love those linky parties and seeing everyone’s finds! I am 59, a retired first grade teacher and live in S.C. I’ve been married for 37 years and we are blessed with three adult daughters, two of whom are married. No grandchildren yet, but we look forward to that day! I love decorating with inexpensive items, yard sales (my husband and I go to those every Saturday), thrift stores and reading. Your format of your blog is perfect! I especially adored the post on decorating your porch in your old home because we are currently doing an addition of a sunroom and screened porch to our home! Can’t wait to see what you and other bloggers are planning for the holidays! Keep up your great work!
Hi, I’m Heather. I’m live in Alexandria, VA, but I’m from long island. Your blog has inspired me so much. I haven’t done any big projects yet b.c I rent my apt. But my husband and I are looking to buy soon and the first project I want to do is mirror moulding. I have a crappy job right now, but my dream is to be a sahm.
Hi there, well thank you for asking about your fan club…haha!! Well I am 52, a stay-at-home married gal from southern Manitoba, Canada…with 3 adorable furry babies..2 pups..10 and 15 and a sweet little kitty, 8. We have been remodelling our home for over a year…AHH!!! Reading blogs is my *escape* that I truly need first thing in the morning..thank YOU for being there for me! Take care, Valerie
I’m Jessica from Texas. I’m a labor and delivery nurse supporting my husband while he’s in law school. I love your blog and it inspires me for my own decorating!
Hi! My name is Susie, live in N.E. Nebraska, am 46 years young, married, with 4 children and 8 grandchildren! I just found your blog last week ~ followed over to it from another blog I read (don’t remember which one though!). I am slowly working my way through reading your past posts. I added you to my reader as I also love decorating, thrifting, cooking & gardening!
