Tell Me About YOU!

This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now.  I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU!  If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.

Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today.  I’ve often wondered who all is reading.  You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often.  Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂  Then, you come out of the woodwork.

So, today is all about YOU!  Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife.  If you don’t mind sharing.  I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.

OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself.  We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.

And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.

Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂  I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school.  I will be 53 in December.

Hi Rhoda, I’m the Nancy who had the great pleasure of
shopping with you at the yard sale at Briarwood this summer.
I’ve been reading you for over a year. I’m a 54 yr old stay at
home wife and mother of 2 grown and married daughters, both
married to officers in the Army and I know one of them reads you
too. And I’m looking forward to the Holiday House.

HI! I am Michelle and I’ll be 40 on December 30th! Only my mother remembers that day and I’m sure it has something to do with the pain!!! We live in Cookeville, TN and I am a stay at home mom to our 5.4lb Yorkie mix, Abby. We are approved to be foster parents and hope to adopt an infant through the state…praying everyday for that! I love your blog and have learned so much from you. Sometimes I even read it to hubby! Keep up the good work!

Hi Rhoda! I’ve been a follower of your blog for a long time now. I’ve enjoyed it so much because you are from the south (like me) and love to decorate (like me) and share great ideas, recipes, traveling to FL etc. My name is Kelly and I will be 45 on Halloween. Yikes! I live in North GA so I’m familiar with the places you go to in Atlanta. I am a stay at home mom of two boys. One is in high school and one is in elementary school. I have a boston terrier named Max that feels like a third child to me too! I love reading blogs and RMS etc. I may start a blog of my own one day. I just have to get up the courage and figure out how to do it. Thanks for all your inspiring posts!

Hi Rhoda, I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now thanks to Amanda @ serenity now. I’m 26 & about to get married to my best friend this December. I LOVE making all sorts of crafty things but wedding planning has consumed my life as of late & I’m most excited about what comes after the wedding…decorating my little rental house! I can’t wait to make it a cozy space that we’ll call home. 🙂 Blessings!

Hi Rhoda! I’ve been a follower of your blog for a few months now but I love it! My name is Missy and I’m a Texas girl. I’ve been married 15 years to Jeff and we have two wonderful children, Christopher (10) and Isabella (9 months). I started a blog of my own earlier this year. I’m still working the kinks out but I love doing it…its great therapy. I have enjoyed your blog very much, you have given me lots of great ideas for decorating in my home. Keep up the great work!

Hi Rhoda, I’ve just recently found your blog and I’m enjoying it very much, glad I found you.
I’m 55 and just had my 37th anniversary with my high school sweetheart. We have 2 grown children and 3 adorable grands. My biggest pleasure is to decorate my home and change things up often. I love reading blogs for new ideas and yours is one of my favorites.
I’m a 9 year breast cancer survivor and I try to enjoy every day. I have learned that things are just things and what’s important in life is the friendships you make doing the ‘things’ you love.
    Please, get thoses mammograms, ladies!

Out of the woodwork I come to say a Northwest Hello to you, Rhoda! I found your blog serendipitiously through a virtual friend of a friend of a friend out there in Blog Land, starting with a visit to the Joyworks Blog (my favorite shop near my hometown). I live with my family in a beautiful town, which was named in this year’s Money Magazine’s Top Ten small town places to live. Can you say, Mukilteo? (muck-ull-tee-oh) It’s a lovely place to raise my girls, now 14 and 7, but the Big Sky Country is my home sweet home. We bought a funky little brown bungalow by the bay with a delicious view of the Sound and have been constructing, with hubby as contractor and the rest of us assisting, a 3700 sq. ft. ‘old house’; we are about 2/3 complete after just a short 9 years of living here. But who’s counting? Anyway, your blog inspires me and I feel like we’re friends since I check in with you daily. I admire your decorating style, thrifty treasures, and creative expressions thereof. It seems to me you are one of those ‘treasures’ yourself, a gem of a friend who has a way of making everything look beautiful and everyone feel uplifted by your presence. Thank you for the inspiration, your humble approach to this circle of sharing and the beauty you have brought to my home from yours! Smiles & Blessings to you Rhoda! ~Angie

Thanks for asking, and letting me share 😉

Hi Rhoda, I’ve only been blogging about a year, but your blog was one of the first I found. Your blog is very inspiring and I enjoy reading. I am a 48 year old stay at home mom and wife. We have 5 children, but there’s only 1 left that I have to make sure she gets to school and everywhere else. She is 14 and the rest range from 18 up to 27. I have 2 grandsons, which one has had open heart surgery in Birmingham twice. I live in southern Alabama. Keep up all the inspiring decorating and interesting articles. Thanks, Debbie

Good morning Rhoda! My name is Stephanie. I am quickly approaching 30, a stay-at-home wife, and a homeschooling mom. I found your blog awhile ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it. My mom, sister, and I have trashed to treasure for our home decor for years and so your sight gives us a set of new ideas. Love it!

    Hi, Rhoda
I’m the Kennesaw, GA “52 year old plainjayne” that used your great idea of the beadboard wallpaper on my backsplash in our dated kitchen. I am a full time working mother of teenage boy (15) and a wife to a hunter–that “hangs” his (and our son’s) trophies on our great room wall. We look like a mini “Bass Pro Shop” but I make it work with the other decorations in the room. It is a warm and inviting area if you don’t mind the eyes looking back at you. We also have a 6 year Westie named Libby, who we all enjoy so much!
I love reading your blog and especially your visits to the Atlanta/Marietta area. Hopefully we could meet each other one day. Please keep your blog going. You have great taste and many wonderful ideas.

    Hi Rhoda:
You’ve no idea how much I enjoy your blog. I’m one of those lurkers who seldom come out. I did post a few things a couple of times. I hope you never stop blogging. You’ve such great ideas and you make us all so welcome.

I’m from Texas and am 67 years young and don’t feel it at all! I have raised 5 children, have 11 grandchildren and if you can believe it, my husband and I are blessed raising our great-grandchild at our age!

My passion is decorating! Keep up the good work!

Hi, Rhoda! I’ve been reading for a long time, but I don’t know how long. Sometimes I feel like I ought to build a Word doc with all of the blogs I read and put a month and year next to each one so I know how long I’ve been “with” the blog! Time passes so quickly.

I’m a mom of three boys ages 6, 5 and 18 months, and I live in Bluff Park (Hoover). I work outside the home full-time and love both blogging and reading blogs. Yours is a daily read!

Hi, Rhoda! This is a fun idea! Just so you know, I have not forgotten to send you pics of my family room, which you helped me with, but am still in the “process” stage. Soon, I hope.
Anyway, I’m in northern VA. I’ve been a stay-at-home wife/mother for – let’s see – almost 25 years. Wow! It doesn’t seem that long. I turned 53 this year, too!
I just love your blog, and all your great ideas. Thanks so much.

Well I am a 30 year old stay at home mom of 3 wonderful kids. We homeschool them too. I also am married to Mark, we celebrated our 11 year anniversary back in May. I love to go to thrift stores and thrifty decorating. we bought our house back in Feb and we are trying to make it a comfortable relaxing place for us and the kids. We want this to be somewhere they want to be and somewhere we can hang out and be a family. It is a process and we are making some headway. It is great to finally hear about some of the people that I read their blogs. Rhoda I have been following your blog for a few months. I found it through the lettered cottage which i found through another blog which was found through another website. Wow that sounds confusing…
