This ole’ blog of mine sure has evolved since I started it and I’m not even sure how many original readers I still have now. I don’t think all that many who started with me are still reading, but so many of you have joined in along the way and I’m SO grateful for YOU, YOU, and YOU! If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, I’d love to hear about it.
Y’all make this so much fun for me and I’d love to hear from YOU today. I’ve often wondered who all is reading. You lurkers are a mysterious bunch and don’t come out very often. Unless I’m having a giveaway. 🙂 Then, you come out of the woodwork.
So, today is all about YOU! Tell me as much as you want to share, I’d love to know at least what state you live in, how old you are and what you do, if you work out of the home or are a stay at home mom/wife. If you don’t mind sharing. I just think this will be so much fun and instead of me talking, YOU can do the talking today.
OK, who’s first! Come on, don’t be shy, tell me about yourself. We’re all friends here and I would love to know more about my wonderful readers.
And if you have a question for me too, ask away! I’ve got plenty to share from my trip to Atlanta this weekend, but thought this would be fun to do while I get some pics sorted, so I’ll get to that a little later.
Oh, and I just have to throw this in….hello my name is Rhoda, not RhoNda, as many of you think it is! 🙂 I have to laugh, because I’ve been called Rhonda all my life and usually had to correct my teachers the first day of school. I will be 53 in December.

Hi! I am Sarah from Nevada, and I am a 27 year old stay at home mommy to an almost one year old! I found your blog when I googled something about decorating about a month ago (maybe something about a hutch?! I can’t remember) and I’ve been hooked ever since! We just bought our first home, and I always come to your blog to get inspiration, so thanks for being here for me! You’ve done a beautiful job!!
Hi, I live in Montgomery(AL) , practically your neighbor. I wandered into the world of blogs about a year ago and saw you for the first time on the Eddie Ross blog. You were at Scotts in Atlanta, a place I’ve been several times. I started following your blog to find the great flea & antique places you mention in our area. B’ham is so fun to shop! So I guess I am a lurker! I don’t have a blog so I feel it’s somehow unfair to enter contest when I don’t offer something in return. But I enjoy the heck out of reading them and thanks to you I have a bead board wallpaper backsplash ! Better than that, I have more confidence in doing my own decorating on a dime like you do. I am 55, married for 34 years and have raised 3 funny kids. I love to decorate and sew. Thank you for sharing good things with the rest of us!
I found you through another blog I love – Daisy Cottage. I’m 48 live in northeastern Oregon with my husband, have 2 grown children, 1 precious granddaughter, a yellow cat and a yellow lab. I work full time as a secretary, love to quilt, cook and decorate. I have really enjoyed your tips and decorating ideas.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Rhoda,
My name is Marie and I’m 54 years old, mom to four and gramma to three. My husband and I (along with his 91 year old father) live in Maryland.
I work at a 9-5 job in insurance and dream of the time I can be a stay at home wife again. I love creating and really enjoy spending time getting new ideas here in the land of blog. Thanks for all the great tips you share. You got me hooked on wallpaper beadboard and as soon as my laundry room is complete I’ll send you a picture of how it looks in there.
Thanks for having a blog that’s such a delight to visit!
Ww! You sure got people to come out and comment on this one. We’ve met. Remember when I said that I was afraid a blog like yours would intimidate me. No way, you make your blog so friendly and inviting. It’s not all I’m so chic and you’re not! Thanks!
I have been reading you almost daily for a year now! I live in OHIO! Near Cleveland. I am a teacher and am almost 51 years old. I love to decorate and I get ideas from all of you in blogland! I do not have a blog as I am sooooooo busy working full time. But when I retire I can see me doing this! Your blog is fun, lively, inspiring, and friendly. Keep up the good work! What a great idea to get us to talk! It is soooooo cool to see where everyone is from. Take care, Nancy from OHIO
I am 49 and became a stay at home Mom 19 years ago, when one of my children was born with multiple medical needs. My professional work outside our home ended. At the time, I did not understand there was a blessing attached to the changes that occurred in my life. It gave me small increments of time to explore my creative gifts. I found I love embroidery, crazy quilting, sewing, faux painting, cooking, thrift decorating, and working in the garden. My needle work has been published in several magazines in print and one on-line. Our current home is in Saratoga Springs, in Upstate NY.
We are actually closing on a 2 nd home in Savannah GA this Friday. We will start working toward retirement and permanent residence in the South. I can’t wait!!!
I have to say I just love your blog RHODA!

Hi Rhoda,
We live in Memphis, so if you ever come to Graceland…. just kidding. I am 28 years old and still consider myself a newlywed after 18 months. And as of today, I am a Kindergarten teacher. Yay! So glad you are still blogging and sharing so much with others!
God bless!

Hi Rhoda, I cannot even remember how I found your blog but I have been following for several months because I absolutely love your style and your poise. I am the mother of 3 (ages 15 years, 14 years and 12 years) and I am a Controller at a Fortune 100 company. I was a stay at home mom for about 5 fives years after my 3rd came along. When she started school full-time, I went back to work full-time and gradually went back to full-time. I work from home so I am here for the kids when they get home from school so it is a great blessing to be able to work and be home for my children. I love decorating and actually have more time now that my kids are getting older – they even jump in and help with the projects! I have been married for 20 years to an Alabama guy and we live in MD, in the ‘burbs of Washington, DC.
I love your blog. With the demise of my decorating magazines, I’ve had to turn to decorating blogs to quench my thirst. I am a divorced and 57 from Dallas. When I say it, I almost laugh because what a combo. In real life I am a special ed teacher specializing in learning disabilities; I work with 7th graders and love it. My passion is my art. I am a self-taught whimsical artist. I worked at my craft for 30 years in various forms, but I paint fun whimsical paintings. Keep writing, I love it. SusieQ

Hi Rhoda,
I’ve been following your blog for nearly a year now. I’m a 35 year old stay at home(schooling) mom to a 9 year old son. My husband and I live in Elwood, IN (a small town about an hour north of Indy) and have been happily married for 14 years. I’m glad you’re doing this today. It’s fun to see where everyone is from. I popped in on one of your other readers that lives in a town in FL where my hubby worked for several years while we lived there. I never would have found her blog if not for your encouraging us to share today. Thanks.

I have been following you for a few months. Basically I am addicted! 😉 I love your decorating style and all the information you share. I am a relatively new blogger and in the past few months I have discovered many decorating blogs and am having so much fun reading all that is shared and getting ideas for the remodeling of my home I just started. I love cooking, entertaining, making my house a home, the ocean, bargain shopping, browsing antique stores and rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals.
Thank you for all you share!
