The Berry Bible Giveaway

{Giveaway is Closed}

Another berry book was sent to me (for free) for review and one of YOU can win a copy too!  This one is called The Berry Bible.

Written by Janie Hibler, a Bon Appetit magazine contributor and winner of the James Beard Book Award for her cookbook, Wild About Game,  The Berry Bible serves up 38 berry varieties, from well-known raspberries and Marion blackberries to lesser known ground-cherries and hardy kiwis.  The result is a mouth-watering recipe collection geared to today’s cooks, from those who want quick and easy, to those seeking sleek sophistication.

This is truly the A-Z Berry Encyclopedia, with berries that I’m sure you’ve never heard of.  I sure had never heard of the Buffalo Berry. 🙂

From all the health benefits of berries, to 175 recipes of Coolers and Drinks, Breads, Soups and Salads, Main Courses, Sauces, Putting Berries Up, Ice Creams and Sorbets, Pies and Tarts, Cakes and Pastries, this pretty paperbook has berries covered.

Now, I will say I was a little disappointed that there are no color photographs inside.  In fact, there are no photographs at all, just text and LOTS of recipes, but I still think you’ll enjoy it if you love berries.

And I do!  If you’d like to win a copy of the book for yourself, just leave a comment telling me YOUR favorite berry.  I think mine is probably the beautiful blueberry and from the other cookbook giveaway, I think a lot of you feel the same way.

    Well, being a Plant City girl ya know I love strawberries! But we also have blueberry groves near me too so I’d have to say those are my top two. I’m always interested in things with (all kinds of) berries! Thanks for the chance!

    Well, my favorite would be the raspberry. I prefer eating them straight up, but I do have a great tart recipe for them.

    Now for the funny part, I have a couple of theology blogs listed along with my home blogs, when I saw “Berry Bible” in the heading I thought “hmm, I wonder who put together that version…. ha ha!”

    I love boysenberries. They used to grow wild on our farm back in MN. I would make boysenberry jam, boysenberry syrup for pancakes. YUM! Unfortunately over the years the spraying of chemicals in the fields killed them so I missed those berries.

    Oh, I am a berry eater. Blackberries are probably my favorite, but I have a dish of blueberries every night. (for the antioxidants!) Truth be told, I just love ending the day with a bowl of berries.

    I would have to say Loganberries…
    My hometown is Logansport, IN and we were the home of the “Berries”…I am so not kidding. and our mascot was/is Felix the Cat. Long long story.. ha ha but oh so true..

    I love all berries, especially raspberries and most of all the black ones, brambleberries. We used to collect buckets full by the side of the road, near the farm where I grew up. Totally organic and free!

    I love raspberries! For me, there is nothing like fresh raspberry sauce on cheesecake. YUM! My hubby loves blackberries, so I make him blackberry cobbler for a special treat.
