Another berry book was sent to me (for free) for review and one of YOU can win a copy too! This one is called The Berry Bible.
Written by Janie Hibler, a Bon Appetit magazine contributor and winner of the James Beard Book Award for her cookbook, Wild About Game, The Berry Bible serves up 38 berry varieties, from well-known raspberries and Marion blackberries to lesser known ground-cherries and hardy kiwis. The result is a mouth-watering recipe collection geared to today’s cooks, from those who want quick and easy, to those seeking sleek sophistication.
This is truly the A-Z Berry Encyclopedia, with berries that I’m sure you’ve never heard of. I sure had never heard of the Buffalo Berry. 🙂
From all the health benefits of berries, to 175 recipes of Coolers and Drinks, Breads, Soups and Salads, Main Courses, Sauces, Putting Berries Up, Ice Creams and Sorbets, Pies and Tarts, Cakes and Pastries, this pretty paperbook has berries covered.
Now, I will say I was a little disappointed that there are no color photographs inside. In fact, there are no photographs at all, just text and LOTS of recipes, but I still think you’ll enjoy it if you love berries.
And I do! If you’d like to win a copy of the book for yourself, just leave a comment telling me YOUR favorite berry. I think mine is probably the beautiful blueberry and from the other cookbook giveaway, I think a lot of you feel the same way.

I love berries but my very favorite would have to be strawberries. My favorite strawberry dish is fresh sliced strawberries, Yoplait Light Very Vanilla Yogurt with granola or chopped walnuts! I eat it for breakfast almost every morning during strawberry season. Yum!!! Thank you for such a delightful website.

It’s a toss up between strawberries and blackberries for me. I do love blueberries and raspberries too though. Guess if I had to pick it would be strawberry though. I do love blackberry dumplings and blackberry vinegar though. Can you tell it’s hard for me to choose.

My favorite berry is the blackberry. When I was young I would spend the summer on my grandfather’s farm and he grew blackberries and I always loved going to out to the field and picking them and eating them right from the vine. I love them in muffins, pies, cakes, cobblers, anything and especially just eating them. Yum!!

I love blackberries. We don’t have them that often though. My second favorite is strawberries. YUM!

Yummy – blackberries, gooseberries, strawberries and just about all berries. My husband and I start and end most days with berries. The book would be an awesome addition to our cook book collection.
p.s. Boysenberries— haven’t had them in years. Tonight I’ll dream about them.

Definitely the good old BC Blackberry. We now live in Alberta, but they just can’t compare to that delicious West Coast taste…
