It’s going to be SO great to have a fully functional, yet pretty laundry room space around here. I still can’t believe the changes when I look at the Before shots of this space. Dingy and dreary are two words that come to mind, but not anymore! Lighter, brighter and fun are now words in my vocabulary when I talk about my beautiful new and improved laundry room.
It’s been great to partner with Sherwin-Williams on this project, picking my HGTV® HOME by Sherwin-Williams paint and getting to buy some accessories for the space. What a fun project it’s been!
Check out their awesome Color Selection Tools.
Let’s look one more time at the BEFORE, the day we bought the house. Can I get a collective YUCK?

And now the AFTER!

Keeping the walls bright white was the best decision I made and one of my favorite colors, Alabaster, by Sherwin-Williams is a true winner. It would be great for trim or walls, it has a slight hint of creamy vanilla and is not at all stark white. The perfect shade of white for me. I even used it on the stripes on the floor, along with Cityscape, a deep gray that enhances my room.

So, let’s get on to the rest, shall we?!

I can’t believe the changes in this room now. It really feels like a finished space, after painting out the walls in the final white shade of Alabaster, as well as painting the trim pieces we added a while back.

Found this really cool blue cabinet at Homegoods and thought it would be perfect in here for storage.
The folks from Royal Design Studio were great to send me one of their stencils to try out, the Chez Sheik Moroccan stencil from the Allover Moroccan stencil collection and added an accent wall above the washer dryer and a shelf from Ballard Designs. And, I got the brilliant idea of hiding the ugly black air ducts to the right of the washer dryer with a pair of curtain panels. They are perfect to help disguise that ugliness and add a soft factor to the room. I’ll tell you all about the details of this space in a later post, but the drapes came from Wayfair.

Another project that you’ve already seen is the new sink base and faucet. I love having this in here!
Covering up the air duct was really key to making this feel like a real room and I think these drapes do the trick. I will try to do another post on how I hung these drapes. I bought large shower curtain rings that opened all the way so that I could snap them over the existing metal water pipe that was up there. It made the perfect curtain rod for the drapes.
I was also able to shop for some accessories in here, and these 2 light fixtures from Ballard Designs complete the space with some pretty details up above. The lighting in here before was a plain naked light bulb. Not appealing at all. I’ve upped the glam factor tremendously with the lighting.
Behind the drapes, I can store a few things, and this is like having a storage closet tucked away next to the refrigerator and out of sight.
My parents got a new toilet in their master bathroom and passed this one on to me to use in this corner. It was already stubbed, and I had my plumber come out and hook it up. It will definitely come in handy around here!
I’m so happy to have most of this makeover done. It’s going to be a great space to have, and I will utilize it to the max. The other end of the room will eventually be a storage closet with a wall in place, and then this space will be completely done-zo!

I would love to pick out new paint for the kitchen/living area.
Would love to makeover our Master! Its still builder beige and needs some personality!
BEAUTIFUL! We’re planning a re-do of our master bedroom right now and this would be perfect!
I actually came to your post from Pinterest because I want to redo my laundry room as well! It’s the only room in the house that doesn’t have a finished ceiling and the walls aren’t completely finished either. Since all those pipes are in there I don’t want to finish the ceiling but was thinking about painting it like you did. I’m looking forward to your post with all the details!
I love the room! The drapes are actually made from a fabric I wanted to see a sample of for some pillows! I need a remake of my great room/kitchen and a gift card for paint would cover that part!!!
I most definitely want to makeover my bedroom. The walls have been pale yellow for the past 15 years and now I want something new, something cool, something colorful. Oh, yeah! Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
I would love to redo our guest bedroom 🙂
I’d love a redone laundry room, but in a more realistic vein, I’d be happy to repaint my back hallway. I first need to remove the “decorative” plaster effect, so a few good products would really help. SW rocks!
Would love to redo paint in living room and kitchen after living here for 20 years.
Great your “original” laundryroom. It’s now attractive and looks very functional. I’ll really envy the storage. I have a small laundryroom that I would love to update!
Love your laundry room, Rhoda!
Those curtains, and the floor, and the stenciled wall really dress it up. So pretty!
I really want to makeover our bedroom and definitely need some paint to do it! Would love to win some $$ from Sherwin Williams to help.

I ‘ve got a lot of painting to do but my bedroom definitely needs some color.
You work miracles, Rhoda!
I would love to paint our living room! I would truly be blessed to win a $100 dollar gift card!
I would love to paint our wrap around porch floor!
I love how your laundry room turned out!
Thanks for the opportunity to win a $100 Sherwin-Williams
gift card!
Oh my goodness…I have so much to paint…my kitchen, the dinette area , and the foyer, which is going to be stenciled.
I would love to makeover our master bedroom!
Kitchen and dining room is next on my list. Paint and paint, and, oh yeah, paint!
